If you cant find something to watch, see, listen, learn or do here it is your own fault. I have my staples that I have to see each year. The baby barn, the art, chainsaw carvings, tractors, etc. Barns are a must, I love checking out the animals and try and watch a different animal show each year or so. There is always talent contests and Channel 8 does their live news cast each weekday. I try and get one ride above the grounds and try one new different food each year. Some people I know must ride the giant slide each year or go see the funky cakes or check out the 4H building. We usually end up going more than once each year because there is so much going on. Going in the evenings is fun cause that is when people cut loose, the big concerts play and the midway lights up. Get yourself there at least once in your life. Its one of the top things to do once in your life. You wont be bored.

Shade for those who wanted it, sit anywhere to watch the game. Food was in good supply pregame. Supposedly pulled with first pitch but they did what I would hope: put all the remaining food out so we can take from it. (But seriously guys, if you read this? Keep serving through the first inning or so. Please.) Also a second note: Audio didn't really carry to the outfield. No secondary video screen to supplement the one directly behind us. For that fifth star, please beef that up a bit!

I did some searching and found out Des Moines was home to Iowa Cubs, AAA affiliate, of Chicago Cubs. My friend somehow got a coupon for a buy 1 ticket get 1 ticket free. I think total was $20. It was on 3rd baseline on second tier level of seats. They don't accept cash at concession stands. You have fo get a card to load or you can use a credit card. I tried to load the card my friend had but it didn't work. So we got a new card and loaded that up. I went to one stand to get beer for myself. I also got an order of steak fries. It seemed like a small portion for the price but whatever. The stadium is definitely smaller than major league ball parks. Worcester Red Sox were playing the Iowa Cubs. 6 hits Final Score 0-1 Cubs Winning. The stadium was clean, signs easy to follow.

We could have played here for many more hours! One price gets you all the games you can stand until closing time. There's something for about all ages and skill levels. We loved the selection. They have a party room which would be great for a celebration or event. The menu has a variety of fun ice cream treats. There is a slightly higher fee if you're going to use the special room of pinball machines. It would be very worth it if you were intending to play yourself and not there with a small child. The only bad thing is the "all for one price" deal gives rise to many ADHD players who seem to hop from one game to another without having played for more than a minute or two. Many machines are sitting mid-game from players walking away. Plus there's no thrill of winning the extra ball at pinball or extra player in a game because there's no weight to the loss. The space also fills up so much there's little to no walking room so you have to squeeze between players once there's more than a dozen or two in there. As a tip: a couple of the pinball games were stuck at a selection screen or unable to provide any balls. The power switch tends to be on the bottom, front right side. If you reach under and power off for 10 seconds and back on they all reset and appeared to work perfectly. Our six year old loved it and we plan to be back again soon.

That is what we like. This review is supposed to be about the Slaughterhouse. We got there early because with our SlipKnoT meet and greet we got in early to meet the band and be one of the first inside the haunted attraction. The entire experience was fun. The inside was very dark in places where i couldn't see a thing and got a bit lost inside trying to find my way. I tried to turn my screen on to see the way and i was yelled at saying "no phones" which I can understand but we should be able to know where we are going. I also tried to get a couple sneak peek shots inside for the Yelp community!! The attraction was fun and it looked well put together. The costumes were not just face paint either. It looked like they spent some time putting together the costume. It is a drag when the employees do not put in any effort. These guys were NOT like that. One guy even swung over the top of the group. I think anyone would enjoy this whether SlipKnoT was there or not.

I appreciate that they have a designated snack area where we were able to enjoy some lunches we'd packed. They had plenty of differing play spaces for the kids - a cute little ice cream truck, a parachute/wind experiment , light play, climbing areas, post office and libraries for pretend play, etc. Overall, for our 2&3 y/o it was plenty of activity and excitement for an hour or two. But I gotta say, when you hold it up against the Omaha Children's Museum, it falls a little short. For starters, it's just one large room divided up into little sections along the walls and in the middle of varying types of play. In addition, there's a decent amount of the supplies and props that just seem to be lower quality. Again, my toddlers certainly did not mind any of these changes but sure how well it would hold an older child's attention.
