Sky's the Limit is one of the murals I came across when I was visiting the area. It caught my eye because it's so colorful, but it wasn't until I did some research about the mural that I learned that it was created for autism awareness. I guess I should have known when I saw the puzzle pieces. (For what it's worth, I've been told by a friend who has an autistic kid that the puzzle piece, which is supposed to represent autism awareness, is controversial among many people in the autism community, for reasons I won't go into here, but are completely valid. I guess you can do your own research about it, if you want!) The mural was painted in honor of Skyler, a local kid who is autistic. The mural has a comic book look to it, and is supposed to be a reminder to people that all kids can be what they want, even a superhero. This mural is kinda interactive because it has adult-sized and child-sized capes painted on the mural that you can pose by for a selfie. I didn't do that because I was visiting solo dolo, but if you have someone with you to take your pic, you should have at it.

The mural actually sits next to another cool mural called space cats. This mural kinda serves two purposes. It illuminates public art but also has a message as it telling you not to be a blockhead and don't block the garage door it is painted on. So I got a good laugh out of that. It's is a tighter alley and with shops and bars around I'm sure that fully functional garage door gets three door blocked a lot from making or dropping off deliveries. Or maybe people park to take photos of the space cat mural next to it. Either way it's a cool and fun mural. I enjoy all public art. Ones that can make you chuckle, cause nostalgia or spread knowledge are my personal favorites. So This hits one of those boxes. Cool and fun piece to the downtown new Albany area.

Pretty basic and kinda bland but it is always nice to see more public art pop up around the area. Inside the words are some attractions and events of new Albany past and present. Kinda hard to see with the lighter shade colors and that it looks like it's a little sun damaged. Overall solid piece that accurately lets you know that you are in fact in the city or new Albany.

City of Vine grove don't blink or you will miss it!…read more The City of Vine grove has a nice old time small town USA feeling here. As you as drive through to the creek I believe there is 2 stop signs. They have a farmers market near the railroad track. I'm guessing the population is less than 4000. Two of the liquor stores (stubbies and berry's recently closed down ever since Radcliff allowed alcohol sales in their town. The terrain has rolling hills and plenty of curves which are great for riding your cycle. Make sure to wear your seat belts and watch your speed its easy for vehicles to glide over those smooth new roads.

It is a nice small town giving off a real small town usa vibe. It's quite safe and although there…read moreare not too many things to do and see at first glance, there are some small town shops which are fun to go into. It is also fun to walk around the downtown area and see old buildings you never would have noticed. The only issue is that some of the areas are not as well maintained.
