I had been looking up kayak rentals and they were all 40 minutes or more away and cost double even with a groupon. Then I happened to find this place and felt like I'd hit the jackpot. Not only did we kayak but we also rode bikes and played around like big kids. It was an awesome experience. The staff on hand was helpful resourceful and fun. They coached us through boarding, un boarding, and maneuvering our kayak. They definitely made us feel welcomed and want to come back.

A new person took over the program at Antioch Park and has utterly ruined it. Instead of kids getting to burn off some energy after spending an entire day sitting at a desk in school, they are forced to sit at a table and be quite. WOW have they really refurbished it! The playground area is so nice and looked to be maintained very well. I noticed they have added a paved sidewalk area that goes back into the woods and although we did not follow it back I would love to come bike riding on it. Back in the day we had the woods and some dinky swings and a slide. This is a great upgrade. There is a nice children's play area including a larger set with monkey bars. slides, and several places to climb up and down. There is also a smaller climbing toy with a two sided slide for toddlers. Likewise there are infant swings - the old bucket type and swings for older children. I love the fact there is such a nice area you could really play kickball or run around.. fly a kite, etc. The tennis courts look great and so do the basketball courts. In the distance the baseball backstops are sill up and ready to be played on. Its really, really great to see the neighborhood park has been redone so nicely. I know I'll be bringing the kids back to play a lot more since seeing this. At one time BREC was doing doing programs fro kids at the park so if you are in the area it would be worth looking into!

Add the mixture of trees, bushes, and docks, and you have yourself a very nice scenic elegant park. For activities, there's people fishing and kayaking here and walking their dogs. It's pretty close to the LSU campus; it's obvious the student body and school staff enjoy this park as well!

Both times I went, I was with a large groups of kids to fish. It is a bit out of the way, so I would suggest going when you want to spend a good bit of time outdoors. They have bathrooms just a short walk from the fishing ponds, and they were clean both times I went there, though I think the paper towel dispensers were empty the first time I visited. They have a nice pavilion with a good number of tables where we had plenty of room to eat and enjoy the weather.

A small gem located inside Baker for nature lovers that free…read more If you are looking for a place to walk and just enjoy the beauty of nature and hear the birds chirping this is a beautiful spot. There are a handful of different trails. It's a beautiful spot to take pictures it's quite stunning . There is a small greenhouse you can tour for free. It's a good place to just soak in nature and maybe read a good novel. I will definitely be going back !
