My experience with Rittenhouse Dentists in Bala has been outstanding. I originally stopped in as they were in my office building and offered an easy location for obtaining Invisalign. The office and staff are very welcoming. I was not looking forward to the deep teeth/gum cleaning that was recommended prior to arranging for the Invisalign but Dr. Steffey and her crew were so accommodating making the process as painless -enjoyable as possible. It was also helpful to me that they thoroughly explained the process, timeframe, and cost from the beginning. I developed a sudden toothache on Dec 22, and left a message to see if I could get an emergency appointment. No one returned my call. I called twice on Dec 23rd. No one returned my call. I called on Dec 24th, on the emergency line, given proximity to Christmas and the fact that I was now in absolutely excruciating pain. No one returned my call. Same, of course, on Christmas. Same on the 26th. I mean, of COURSE Christmas is important, and of course staff and dentists should have vacations! But this is why one has an answering service and an emergency line! I will never go back. They are always so very prompt in offering cosmetic dentistry to their Main Line Matrons, but the second you have a legitimate need? Crickets. read more

my first impression was the receptionist loudly violating HIPAA for another patient as i sat in the waiting room. new patient appointments are 2+ hours long without being advised beforehand. they try to force you to come for cleanings every 3 months without telling you it comes with a copay since it's double the normal cleanings per year. My treatment here was absolutely ridiculous. The receptionist, the front desk staff, and everyone who picked up the phone was rude, overly entitled, acted as though I was inconveniencing them by asking them to do their jobs. Trying to find their office is a nightmare, when I called to ask for help finding it, whomever picked up the phone spoke to me as though I was an idiot, and threatened to cancel my appointment if I didn't get there within 5 minutes. Just got my teeth cleaned today. I have been coming to this location since transitioning from the Rittenhouse location due to WFH, and after over a year I can tell you they have been terrific. Everyone is pleasant. From the front desk to the hygienist, to the doctor herself. They are also timely, which is big, and has been a nuisance with my past dentists (save for Dr. Balin at the CC location). No waiting here more than 10 minutes to be seen and the doctor is prompt. The office is clean with modern décor and great tunes. And free parking! No complaints. I would highly recommend. read more

I enjoyed my first visit so much that I returned today for my deep cleaning on my right side. I can truly appreciate a welcoming staff and a phenomenal dental assistant. Today, I received a hand paraffin (which softened my hands during my dental procedure). Dr. Sabrina Steffey, what words can I use to describe just how pleasant she is and that she has the heart for her patients. She makes you aware before hand what she will be doing before proceeding and she is great at numbing your mouth so you feel no pain, (so much so even you nose is numb...lol). The doctors and dental hygienist are wonderful at Rittenhouse Dentist, unfortunately the secretary sitting at the front desk is not. Her attitude is less than to be desired, especially for a dentist office. She must be new because I do not remember her from my first visit in the Winter of 2022. My first run in with her was for my six month cleaning that I was supposed to have in August. I put everything and I mean everything in my calendar. I am a very organized person. She calls and gives me a different date than the one in my calendar. I reconfirmed that she was sure because I have a different date and didn't receive a text message from them like I normally do confirming the appointment, so I thought the call was a little odd. She got attitude with me over the situation, which I didn't think was necessary, considering mix up of dates happen. When I told her that I couldn't make the appointment because I had a work meeting I couldn't miss, she gave me attitude again and then told me the next available appointment was November. This didn't seem reasonable to me, but I'm not going to argue over something so ridiculous as an appointment mix up. November: I show up for my cleaning and her personality is cold as ice. She sits in the front seat to greet each guest. You would think they would choose a more cheerful candidate like the woman who sits on the side of her in the back next to the printer. I could barely hear her, she speaks so low and when I said I couldn't hear her, she became annoyed with me. My cleaning with well, doctor and the hygienist were pleasant as per usual. I book another appointment for a filling for the following week. November 16th: I woke up sick and didn't feel well at all. I call an hour before my appointment to cancel. The last thing I want to do is get the entire staff sick before thanksgiving. I tried to get a hold of someone for 15 minutes. They kept putting me on hold and then not on hold, but I could hear everything happening in the office. I called back twice! When I finally got ahold of her, and I recognized her voice as the unpleasant one, I immediately knew I was going to get attitude. When I told her I wasn't feeling well, she immediately said we have a 24 hour cancellation policy. I didn't receive, I hope you feel better or do you want to reschedule, nope!!! I received a cold and rude one line, "We have a 24 hour cancellation policy." My response: I woke up sick and then hung up the phone. Life is too short to deal with negative, arrogant and toxic people. Also, the last place where I want to receive such treatment is my doctor's office. I will be going elsewhere for my dental services where hopefully I'll be treated with some basic human respect. read more

THIS PLACE IS SHADY. Don't let the glamour of free paraffin treatment or headphones fool you- if they were actually any good or honest people they wouldn't have to hide behind all the glitz. THE ONLY REASON WHY THIS PLACE HAS HIGH REVIEWS IS BECAUSE THEY BRIBE THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH FREE TEETH WHITENING. I've been to 7 dentists across 3 states and this place is the W-O-R-S-T and most PAINFUL dental experience of my life. Yes, I know, going to the dentist in itself is already scary, but this place is lawsuit-worthy terrible! The 1st dentist to take my x-rays told me I had no cavities, but when I arrived 6 months later for my cleaning (which by the way, was also the most painful cleaning.... I had BLOOD splattered all over my face, glasses, and shirt!) the new dentist said I had THREE cavities according to the x-rays FROM SIX MONTHS AGO. When I asked WHY I am being told now and not 6 months ago, the dentist merely replied, "Wish I could tell you, but I don't know." So literally only 1 of 2 things is happening - either the dentists here ARE NOT CAPABLE of doing their jobs correctly, OR they are ripping off their customers WITH FAKE CAVITIES FOR PROFIT. But, because I was an idiot and leaving for vacation in a few days, I got them filled. Worst. Idea. Ever. I've never had so much pain after a filling. I had shots of pain going up my head and jaw anytime it made contact with AIR. I couldn't drink water in any kind of temperature without yelling in pain! It singlehandedly ruined my vacation. After I returned, I had to go back to get the whole thing REDONE - yup! More shots, drilling, filling, pain, all because IT WASN'T DONE CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME. They took an x-ray again and lo and behold, it showed a TERRIBLE filling job. I asked if a nerve was left exposed, and the dentist replied, "UH, maybe." Uh, well clearly that means YES because you're obviously not going to admit it. I was then told I wouldn't be charged this time, but as I was walking out the door, behold!!! I have a payment due. Honestly, I didn't even care. I just wanted to get out of there. I paid, and left, hoping to never return. But nope! I had to go in a THIRD time for the same filling because it was still HURTING. THREE times to fix the same filling?! Please, I've NEVER had to get a filling done TWICE, let alone THREE times?! I still have severe pain whenever I eat, and it's something that I now have to just live with for the rest of my life because of this UNETHICAL place. Don't get fooled by the false high reviews and the free amenities to cover their terrible practice! I went from NO pain and not having cavities for 9 years to having PERMANENT PAIN in my teeth and a hole in my wallet! This is by far my favorite dentist! I came across this location about 2 years ago when I worked in the Bala Cynwyd area and got my husband to come too. The team is always pleasant and helpful. I love the atmosphere, always clean and smells great with their scented candles. They play soft music in the waiting area and also have tea and coffee available for you too. This isn't a stand alone office they are in a building with other offices. Saks Fifth Avenue is right next store in case you need to shop lol! If you're getting a filling or something that's a longer process than normal, they offer Netflix and or Pandora to pass the time. There's no judgement during the visits and no pressure to do any treatments. If you need a breakdown of your future visits it's explained thoroughly but the front office. Turns out, they only have high reviews because if you show them your [high] review you receive a free expensive item. Warning sign #1. My first dental cleaning here was awful. It was the most painful cleaning I've ever had in my life. The cleaning the first time was also done by a dentist, not a hygienist - is that normal? Warning sign #2. I decided to give it another try, and the cleaning was definitely better this time, but the dentist was trying to get me to do a procedure that I didn't even need (perks of having dentists that are friends to verify the truth). Rittenhouse dentist is by far the best practice that I have been to in the area. I started coming in 2015 when a filling broke. Making an appointment was really easy and the work they do is amazing. Since then I have been a regular client, and have my husband coming here as well. The office is clean and everyone is very friendly. I have been a patient at rittenhouse dentists downtown for 3 years and have been beyond satisfied with the every aspect of my care, from the personal customer service, welcoming environment, and friendly staff/dentists. The care i received felt very personal, and thorough (i can't say the same for dentists i have had in the past, many of whom had well established practices as well). Rittenhouse dentists takes every effort to make me feel satisfied, even if it is for a routine cleaning. Other places made me feel like i was a burden on them. I have been a patient of Dr. Abdulla since she first opened her practice. She has filled my cavities, extracted a tooth, whitened my teeth and created the perfect denture for me to use for my wedding so that I wouldn't have a gap in my smile. My husband has used her for fillings, cleanings and most recently to replace an implant that he had chipped. We travel over 2.5 hours to see her because the service is truly unmatched. The experience is like a dental spa. If you are having a filling or tooth extraction or any type of procedure that makes you shift in your seat a little Dr. Abdulla and her staff will hook you up with movie goggles that you can watch anything off of Netflix on. Once you're set up with your favorite show or video they will offer you a nice paraffin wax treatment for your hands. Before they start working on your smile, they put Vaseline on your lips to prevent that drying and cracking that happens to your lips every time you visit the dentist. You walk out of here with nice teeth, feeling relaxed and with the best service you can ask for at a dental office. The office is spotless, the decor is refreshing and the technology/ equipment is best in class. Dr. Abdulla is a perfectionists and she will spend as much time as needed to make sure your smile is perfect. She never makes you feel rushed and truly listens to her patients. From my initial phone query as to whether they were taking new patients to my check in a few days later, they were polite, cheerful and sincerely friendly. The hygienist did an almost completely pain free cleaning, and the dentist herself was cordial, smart, and just generally pleasant. Maybe it's the feminine vibe (I think there IS a male dentist as well) but this was the best dental experience I can remember. If you live on the Main Line, it's a no-brainer.
