I also don't like having refills auto filled but that is the name of the game with most chain pharmacies these days. In doing a web search for local DME pharmacies, I came up with this one. I called the pharmacy and spoke with one of the pharmacists. He assured me that they could fill my prescription and that he would transfer it from the non-DME pharmacy that my doctor had sent it to. So I waited for him to call back as he had promised, but he never called back. So I called the pharmacy again the next day to get the status of my prescription order. I was told that they had transferred the prescription and would be able to process the prescription. The pharmacist I had spoken with was not in, but the person I spoke with asked me a bunch of new questions which I answered and they again promised to call back. Finally after two days, the pharmacy called and told me that they could not fill the prescription because my insurance company would not allow them to fill it. I asked again: Are you a DME pharmacy? I could not get a straight answer. I can only surmise that although the pharmacist had sworn to me that they are a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) supplier, they must not be. My insurance company has since advised me that this CVS is NOT on their list of DME pharmacies. So these people misrepresented themselves and wasted my time while I was in need of medical supplies. They have my prescription now, but I don't trust them to transfer it to a real DME pharmacy. What a mess. Caveat Emptor!
