The entire left wall of the store, and part of the back, are devoted to refrigerated and frozen items. Other aisles have grocery items, and several aisles are seasonal (currently stocking Christmas items). As usual, some items will be better priced/deals than others. But sometimes a product will have an additional discount if you buy 2 of the item. The employees are friendly and polite and helpful. I know that stores like this can start going downhill over time, fingers crossed they can keep up the good work here.

Family Dollar is sort of hovering between Marshall's on the higher end and Dollar General on the lower end, but closer to the latter than the former in terms of quality. As I've noted elsewhere, you can't really get much for a dollar anymore at the Dollar store, and it's become just a low-low-end version of Target or Walmart without a huge amount of cost savings. This particularly Family Dollar is on the busline and is walkable to some of the closer Schenectady Neighborhoods, but I've found the staff unhelpful and there are no longer the kind of random lots of things that one can find with some delight at Ocean State Job Lot (or in days gone by, Pier 1). One plus for this location is it's right next to the Hellas bakery/Coffee Stop so you can get a nosh before or after browsing, but that and $1.59 will get you a cup of coffee.

That list is a lie - they don't have most of what's on that list - and they won't take it back once you realize that it's a bad fit. Also, their "website" just directs you to the hospital page so you can't actually see the items they have. You're better off with the bare minimum from the hospital (walker/crutches) and getting the rest from Amazon.

So if you have a product you are interested in pull out your smart phone and check the prices of neighboring stores before buying. Other than that this location is clean, curated version of other Ocean State Job Lots. They have rotating stock so check often for deals.

This store carries everything from snap back hats to fitted to winter (ski style) hats. The guy working here was very pleasant and told me a bit about customizable hat options. Very large selection of NY and New England team apparel. Lots of items for the NY Giants, NYY, Mets, Jets and Buffalo Bills. The store had a couple of items on sale.
