They teach Spirit, Honor, Discipline, Truth, Bravery, Courtesy, Compassion, Sincerity, Discernment and Loyalty. I have watched as the bring "Little Dragons" to junior instructors and shape them into kind and polite, smart and disciplined individuals. They have multiple instructors each class, so no child is without attention. The self-defense teachings are sound and very memorable. They use repetition to create muscle memory defense while installing properties of awareness and discipline on when/when not to use it. They also have fun games like belt-sparring and dodge ball in all Little Dragons classes which keeps my children wanting to come back every week. The other families all get along and there has never been drama or "incompatibility" between the attending families. They all look after each other, help each other, and care deeply about one another. I will continue my self-defense Kenpo journey as long as I can with AIK. I arrived a little ahead of time and got to meet the owner and some of the students. Everyone was extremely nice and welcoming. Class started on time. I especially liked how all of the students started together at the beginning then they split up the class so the experienced students could practice and the newbies could get more personalized instruction. This was extremely helpful as it taught us some of the basic moves and phrases of capoeira. The instructors gave helpful criticism and pushed you with an encouraging use of repetition. The dojo is bright and spacious. As a dancer and a woman of African heritage, I LOVED all of the singing and music (dem drums tho!!). It took everything in me not to break out dancing. The energy was awesome. The souls were full of life. There were no pretentious airs, like you might encounter at "other" owned martial arts studios. In fact, the owner encouraged students to provide any and all feedback, good or bad. There are classes for kids, teens, and adults. The adult class is at 6pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. For my Son, it has been a place for him to develop confidence, learn self defense and martial arts, and then go into the world and pressure test himself against others. It has given him huge confidence in dealing with his peers, and also made him faster, tougher, and more disciplined. It has been a supportive community for him to grow within, where each student matters. As a bonus, it is something that we can share as a family. Gateway Martial Arts is a United Fighting Arts Federation charter school, teaching the Chuck Norris System, which is based on Korean Tang Soo Do. The classes are taught by UFAF master black belts with decades of teaching and competition experience. I entered the adult class (adults are taught a bit differently) after watching my son do it and thinking it looked fun. I was a Karate drop out at 11 years old, and really didn't exercise at all. 40 years caught up to me, and I was going to need to exercise or start on the pills. I have gone from having goals involving my blood pressure, and blown straight through to goals about my performance at the national tournament in Vegas. Also, all those things I said about my son being more confident, faster, tougher, and more disciplined; that applies to me too.

After they closed for the first few months of the stay at home orders they sent out several surveys to swim student families. When they reopened you could really tell they took out input and CDC guidelines into account. They even sent videos of walking through the swim school with the new precautions in place so students could get used to the new protocols in the comfort of their homes. New Protocols: Masks are required inside. Classes are now limited to individual students or 2 siblings per teacher. Each teacher in the pool wears a clear Duke full face scuba mask. Stickers are setup 6 ft apart to stand on before class. Only one parent per family is allowed inside. No more showers or drinking fountain use. I know this sounds like a lot but it means they can safely stay open and I think that is pretty epic! This is such a great way to get your kids active and having some fun during an extra difficult time! Thank you so much to DeMont staff for doing this safely.

Animas as a facility is the perfect setting for intimate yet high-quality yoga, dance, or pliates. This is not an "exercise mill" in any sense of the word. Highly recommended.
