At 10:30am on a Friday, I was in Taos. There is a parking lot with a kiosk (Ristras de Taos) next to public free parking lot on Paseo de Pueblo just as you enter town. I went to pay but no one was at the kiosk, There is a sign amongst twenty other not so friendly signs on the kiosk that says "if no one is here, pay when you leave." I left for less than a half hour and when I returned - to pay, there was an unfriendly sign taped to my vehicle that told me to pay. I walked over to the kiosk and asked how much for the short time I was there, assuming it was by the hour. The rude woman who either owns the kiosk or works there told me it was five dollars for the day, period. It wasn't the money. but her nasty attitude. I said, "ok" I'll leave my car here and shop longer." She yelled at me that I already paid and she would have my car towed if I left it on the lot, which didn't make any sense. Of course, I left. I have been a business owner and have never treated customers with disrespect like this woman did. Shame on her for not reflecting Taos' lovely charm. read more
