Un caro amico ha anche lavorato in questo ristorante per poco tempo per fortuna, condizioni igieniche assenti, I cuochi e i camerieri toccano spazzatura o utensili sporchi e poi toccano cibo e piatti, assurdo! We ran into this place to escape the downpour outside and have nothing but love for the food we had. The starter soup of the day with thick toasted garlic bread, stuffed mushrooms, pasta, oh man. Very tasty. Very authentic, loved it from start to finish. read more

If half-stars were a thing this would be a 2.5 start review. We were going to try another Italian restaurant in the area on a Saturday afternoon but the wait was really long. We should have been tipped off that we could walk right in to this restaurant. The setting itself was beautiful with intricate tiles and brick archways. When we went to order wine for the table we asked to sample two of them. Our server made it seem like it was a hassle to do so. We started with two orders of bruschetta for the table which started off promising. The tomato's were fresh and perfectly seasoned. Even someone in our group that doesn't like tomato's enjoyed his piece. For our main courses, we ordered the spaghetti with pesto, carbonara, gnocchi Napoli, and chicken Parmesan. All the meals were bland and under seasoned. The red sauces tasted like they came from a can and the pesto seemed to be missing the garlic. Have eaten here three times and loved each one. The lasagna is fantastic, and I rarely will order this at restaurants. The chicken & funghi was out of this world. I want some right now. I can't believe all of the high reviews for this place. This was one of the more forgettable meals during our week in Ireland. We ordered off the Early Bird menu. Caprese Salad and Fried Calamari for our appetizers and then Chicken Casanova and Chicken Cacciatore for the entrees. The Caprese was fine, but the Calamari had the texture of rubber. It was far over cooked. The Casanova came with a red cream sauce, but it had one of those tastes you get absolutely sick of after 1-2 bites. The Cacciatore was simple. Chunks of vegetables in a red sauce dumped over a thin chicken breast. The taste was ok. Both entrees came with steamed broccoli/cauliflower, slices of roasted potatoes and a couple slices of roasted bell peppers. For the price, I expected a lot more flavor and quality. I felt the side dishes were cop outs with no thought. Lastly, the service were horrific. Once we received our entrees the server never came back. We finished our bottle of wine and our dinner. You would think the next step would to be to ask us: How was everything? Would you like more wine? Would you care to look at the desert menu? Is there anything else I can bring you? NOTHING! Multiple times he looked at our table and saw empty dishes and me with my credit card out. He just kept on walking past to another table. I'm with Derrek's review, I can't believe the good ratings this place is getting, we thought it was muck! One of us got the bruschetta off the early bird menu and that was alright but for our mains we got Lasagne and cannelloni alla bolognese which are pretty similar dishes. As Derrek said, sauce was just sickening after a few bites and if the sauce is bad in an Italian, the whole meal is bad. It was just bad and then the prices! My main was close to €20. In some positive news, the service was great, very attentive and sound. But won't be going back. I've yet to be impressed with any place in Cork for food. read more

Just ate here for the 2nd time. Food was as good as I can remember. Got there at 7:15 and was given an early bird menu along with the full menu. Booked a table for 2 for valentines weekend over a week in advance. Arrived on time and had to wait outside for 10 mins in the cold because there was a queue. Once inside the door remained in a queue. Spoke to the couple in front of us who were in the same situation and were told they would be waiting 10 mins. At 8.20. Eventually got to speak to the waiter seating people who told us we would be waiting at least another 5 -10 mins. We told him we weren't really happy with this. He didn't seem a bit bothered. We then told him we were leaving and he didn't even try and stop us. Really bad. Have been there quite a few times. Rang Scoozi's they said they would squeeze us in. Had a great night there! Place was well presented downstairs, utterly drab on the upper floor. Food was fine,when it eventually came. We had to wait 35 mins for a previously booked table and when we were seated one of our party was seated at the corner of the table as there wasn't enough room for 7 people. Service was horrific. Not a single employee seemed to want to be there other than the sweet old man playing guitar in the corner.(kudos to him) One of our party ordered a dessert without chocolate and was given the dessert with everything removed BUT the chocolate. Tea was served, taking the waiter a good 10 minutes to bring the milk afterwards, even after prompted. When asked for the bill at the end of the night I was greeted with an audible sigh as the waiter slumped his shoulders and turned to get it. I didn't mind paying €250 for our food but if I could I would have paid less in order to show my disdain for the service. read more

Great meal and can not recommend it enough! 100% a must if you find yourself craving Italian or in need of a good meal in Cork. Coming from New York and New Jersey we take our Italian food very seriously. Salvatore and his family do an amazing job, the food and service was top notch. The antipasto, pasta, entrees and seafood were amazing. Everyone in our group of 6 had nothing but compliments and great things to say about their dishes. I am a pizza snob and I was thrilled with my ENTA pizza of pepperoni, sausage and peppers, which I would put up against almost any pizza out of NYC. Atmosphere is wonderful; very cosy and homely. The owners and waiters are actually Italian, pasta is home made and food is excellent. Not sure when I'll be back to Cork again but this will definitely be on my list of must-visit restaurants. read more
