Yeah, that was the day my friend and I had in Vienna a couple weeks ago. As we made our way back to the hotel, we tried and failed repeatedly to find open eateries still serving food. We would've settled for gas station grub, but that didn't even seem to be an option! Eventually, as we reached the same block as our hotel, we noticed someone working in Pizzeria Riva Italia, so we walked in to inquire as to if they were still open or not. They weren't. They had closed an hour prior. But the SUPER nice guy working asked us what we wanted and said he'd whip up a pizza of our choice. We quickly decided on the four cheese and he got right to making it...with a smile! What!! Aside: I love Vienna. I think the city is just incredible and I've never met such a friendly local population. So anyway, as my friend and I waited, we decided to pool for a big tip. This guy deserved it! So that's what we did a moment later when our hot, delectable pizza was ready to go. Except he wasn't having it. He ordered us to take canned sodas to go too!! We brought our food back to the hotel and basically inhaled it. Every bite was totally delicious...and the experience was made even better by the selfless, friendly guy working that night.
