I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! All the places we wanted to go were closed or full that evening, so we ended up here. Although we were a bit wary at first, everything completely assured us that L'incontro was simply wonderful:
The server (I wish I knew his name -- he's tall, very gentle, and has a voice that could narrate a nature documentary) thoroughly talked us through the menu, allowed us to taste the wines before choosing our glasses, was incredibly attentive to all the guests, and even brought out water for the dog of one lady.
The first dish I tasted was the crab pasta, and the consistency of the noodles was exactly what I'd been searching for my entire time in Italy. Yes, I understand that not all good pasta is chewy and that pasta cooked fresh is different than that cooked when dry. However, while this doesn't negate the pasta of restaurants elsewhere, I was thrilleddddd with the supple chewiness of the pasta.
It didn't hurt that the crab meat was delicious and ample.
My husband had the tortellini with octopus ink, and while it was good, I stuck with my pasta.
For dessert, we shared the panne cotta. The traditionally-flavored one was wonderful, the strawberry was a little on the sweet side but still delicious, and the kiwi-flavored piece, while adventurous and not altogether off-putting, was a bit too bright green and a bit curious in contrast of flavor and creamy texture for me to fully understand.
All in all, however, if you're looking for a lovely location with wonderful service and food both amazing in presentation in flavor, come here. read more
