Nearby cities are: Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, Los Gatos. Atmosphere - 1.68 square miles with 0.08 water. But also next to the ocean. 2024 population = 9456 (US Census). Cut and pasted from the internet, the current landmark with a recent facelift: "The Venetian Court sits on the beach just east of the pier and is on the Register of National Historic Places as "The first Condominium Beach Community in the United States, built in 1924." Service - Depends on what you do, eat, or drink. Price - Depends on what you do, eat, or drink. We did both local and tourist stuff on this visit. Watching waves breaking at an angle to the shoreline and generating long current, water moving onto the beach and then retreating, in a continuous cycle. As long as the waves hit the shoreline, we are fine! North Pier is next to Capitola Venetian Hotel & Capitola Beach Suites where relaxation meets the sea. Or so they say, if you found a parking spot LOL. There isn't anywhere to park on Wharf road, Stockton avenue, or in the downtown area - Capitola Village. You can park in the Upper Village on Capitola Ave, and walk down to the beach, it's a nice short stroll. Turn right to Stockton Ave, then cross the bridge over Soquel Creek, to Cliff Drive and Wharf Road. There's your North Pier! Enjoy! Cheers! It has a firmly rooted surf culture. We regularly spend time in the Pleasure Point area renting vacation houses there in June. We recently got back from renting a property right on East Cliff named, "The Cabin." Great rental with an awesome view of the Bay and surfers. We enjoy seeing all the locals and tourists walk, ride their e-bikes, or surf there. It's location is near Capitola, the Santa Cruz Boardwalk , and many local restaurants, bars, coffee spots you'd expect. They have an annual neighborhood festival there every June also that's very fun to attend. Over 100 vendors sell arts, crafts, local services, food and beverages. They have a kids zone, beer garden and local bands perform a variety of styles of music on two stages including Americana, Blues, Rock, Reggae and Surf Music. Pleasure Point is a great area!

(unfortunately the muscles were extremely fishy) The frustrating stuff: After we spent over $500, I had a cookie box out because we were going to sing happy birthday and pass out cookies. Waitress informs us there a per person cake cutting fee. I said oh no, I'm just passing out cookies, she say oh there's still a fee. Wow!!!! First of all there's no cake to cut, refrigerate, no extra plates or silverware to wash. It made the closure part of our celebration so awkward. We went into the parking lot, sang and had a cookie. We chose your restaurant to celebrate, spend $500 and you want more money to pass out a cookie that I brought! We sat outside, was hot in the tent, we were sweating. We asked about another fan but were told there was no outlet by our table (another table had a fan). I would suggest a simple extension cord so everyone can feel comfortable.

It was amazing riding along the ocean and then in the redwoods on our way to the wineries. Bring a jacket for the wind and gloves to keep your hands warm. We couldn't have asked for better weather, but it's chilly towards the end with the constant wind. Our driver, JD, had the best sense of humor. He made the experience even better by taking several pictures/videos of our group and then texting them to us after. We weren't even done with our adventure and we were already looking at the other sidecar tours we could take. This was a 10/10 experience!
