We were interested to try this Indian restaurant in Santiago. Service and ambience was A1. Paneer karahi was good however the chicken tikka was sweet. If you ever had Indian food you know that chicken tikka is never sweet. Also tried their pisco sour rishtedar which has cardamom twist and was good. But I would not call this authentic Indian food as the chicken tikka was sweet. read more

Decent food, bad experience. I usually don't write reviews but had to this time around. I was traveling to Santiago for work and went to the restaurant for dinner with colleague. We ordered some food and after a while I discovered that my laptop bag disappeared from my table. Someone came sat behind me and stole it away from inside the restaurant. I don't speak the language but I was hoping that restaurant would help just a little with CCTV footage or something else (which they said they can't help with when asked). It also seemed like it wasn't the first time it happened there. Unfortunately, I had my wallet, laptop, immigration papers, and some valuables taken with laptop bag, which caused tremendous trouble. I probably would not go there again, my recommendation for restaurant would be to work on security and actually use it in such cases. read more

Amazing food, service and staff specially having Indian food in Santiago Chile. So much variety for vegetarians, lovely presentation and delicious food. We came from US on holidays to South America and it was much better than some of the places we have ate in US. Staff was friendly and ambiance was lovely. Rishtedar is a small, yet authentic Indian food restaurant. The chef is from India and will sporadically go back to get more spices, ideas and stock-up on all around delicious options for his restaurant. Their naan and daal are to die for (I'm trying hard not to over exaggerate)! I have not found a better place that makes naan. Even my Indian friends say the naan is like something their moms would make or like they would find in the Indian markets. Seriously, no other Indian restaurant holds a candle to this naan unfortunately, their curry and other main dishes are not as amazing (don't get me wrong, they are good but not great). However, I recommend the vegetarian menu and also to try the Aalu Achari (spiced potatoes) yum! I also recommend accompanying your meal with a delicious mango lassi or chai tea. I am about to let you in on a secret. The key to Rishtedar is to tell them you like it spicy, not chilean style. If not, it's going to be bland and boring. If you like spice at all, you need to get at least a 3/5 or 4/5 (you've been warned). Tips: They have delivery! However, you have to be patient as their phone tends to be busy (they are in high demand). Also, be warned: the curry and naan do not travel well. They are def not as good delivered as it is when you get it at the restaurant. read more

Good food, but a tad low on value. Ambiance: Nice airy restaurant with a very full-on Indian influence. A little cramped when full. Service: I got take-out but my server was very friendly and helpful. Food: Great flavors. I tried the achari bengar (stewed eggplant), jeehinga punjabi (curried shrimp), rogan josh (lamb). All were excellent. Nice flavors without being too salty or overpowering. Might try for a little more spicy next time as I think they cater for Chilean tastes and adjust their range accordingly. The naan was beautifully fluffy and chewy. But as I only discovered when I got home - in spite of such a large order, rice was not included. Not good. More importantly, while the containers seems a good size, I also found that they were more sauce than meat (or vegetables). In the case of the JP I had to fish around for the seafood. Certainly nothing at all like the photos on their website. Price: A little high - $32,000 for the above. If rice had been included and the proteins actually filled the containers it would have been okay value. **** flavors at $$$$$ price. read more

Great service! I need today that first, for if you know anything about Chilean restaurants/bars service isn't usually "great". The food was outstanding. There's definitely a Goan influence but there's a Mutter dish and a few others that are of a northern Indian style - all sound very tasty. I ordered Chicken Korma and Pilau Rice with a large bottle of coke for delivery last night. After having read previous reviews warning about the food may be not travelling well and that the Chileno level of spice tolerance might not be that high I basically got hot edible food, albeit with not much spice, but which served its purpose of filling me up when I was hungry (which was all I was looking for my first night in town!)! The service on the phone was good (he was very patient with my stumbling Spanish!) and delivery was fast and with a smile (better than I receive at home at times!!)! Reading other reviews I think I will try eating in the restaurant next time now I feel better prepared to venture out into the city! read more
