The instruction and facilities are all first rate, prices are very reasonable (especially compared to some of the other studios around Richmond), no contracts, and you will truthfully learn some martial arts stylings (Atemi Ryu Juijitsu) that is not offered anywhere else in the area. My son has been going here almost a year. My son has some emotional and behavioral issues. For the…read moremost part things were okay. At one point, I got charged almost $400 for something that wasn't mine with the phone number for the chesterfield location. They finally got it refunded days later but can not tell me what happened. In the fall I lost my job and when I explained I'd have to temporarily shut off service they still wanted me to pay for at least two weeks even though I had no income. They said that was an exception they were making because it's normally 30 days. The icing on the cake came when today my son returned for the first time in almost a month due to issues at school and being sick from a new medication. Apparently he wasn't wanting to participate and master Bain decided to try and get him in to the office. In her words they were wrestling and he slammed his head on the floor. She then got him in the office and from her description of events, antagonized him. The whole time I'm on the phone with her while I'm at work, she's screaming so loud my coworkers can hear her across the room and I did not have her on speaker phone. I had not raised my voice once. I said that since she was kicking my son out of the program permanently I'd be getting a refund. At first she refused then finally said she'd have a check for me but continued to scream. If my child needs to come home for bad behavior, fonlline. However in the year my child has gone hear we've never done anything to warrant a response like this. Be more professional when handling interactions like this. I will never recommend this place to anyone because Master Bane clearly can't control her temper or her hands. Oh, and had she talked to me first, she'd know my son has PTSD due to his pre k teacher dislocating his elbow from jerking him across the room. So that really only made the situation worse.
