Beyond that, there are more play structures and a basketball area with trampolines. In the back half of the building, there's a rice pit (basically like a sandbox, but with rice instead of sand), a very fun smaller ball pit with interactive screens - throw the balls at the video game projection and blow up the bad guys, a lego area, and a small arcade (additional purchase required). We saw dozens and dozens of kids having the best time of their life. There was a good amount of seating for adults throughout the building, so we always had a place to sit to keep an eye on the kids. There are lots of hand sanitizer stations throughout and we frequently saw workers with vacuums. We played for 3 hours and our kid could have stayed much longer. I would guess older kids might get bored more quickly, but for preschool or early elementary kids, Smiley seems like heaven. You do have to buy the Smiley grippy socks, but that's a standard penalty for play places these days. After you're done playing, hit up Bugambilias a few doors down for amazing Mexican food!

There only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 to 11 and 1 to 3. For children ages 2 to 12 years old. When entering you have to check in at the kiosk or the front desk. The place that looks like a large treehouse with two different floors, three slides, and plenty of things to do within the treehouse. The top level with the two big slides are for kids 5 and up Because you have to climb a ladder to get to the second level. There is an area for the kids under two to play with all kinds of toys. Lots of things for kids to play on and play with such as a kitchen with all the fixing grocery carts that seem to be the most popular area. Also, there was a book rack that you could sit down and read a book and comfortable chairs and couches with large Ottomans. Blocks and small basket ball hoop. There is also a kitchen so parents you can get you a cuppa coffee or water or hot chocolate and watch your kids play. They also have snacks for the little ones, there is a refrigerator. The bathroom is in the same area so no leaving the room.

I filled out the waiver forms that my best friend sent me in advance as she paid for me. A little background, I'm a parent of a 5 year old with autism who needs to be watched at all times. My best friend was aware so she told me I'd be ok being with him. When my family arrived and went to check in for the party the young lady checking us in gave me a wrist band and socks for my son. I tried to put it on him, but he refused because it's a sensory thing. I told her that I will wear it as he will never not be out of my reach and she told me no. I put it on my wrist anyway, because I'm going to keep my son from any unnecessary behaviors. Then I asked about my pair of socks and she gave me a wrist band that stated I was just a spectator and told me I cannot go with him down the slide. Well my intention is not to go down the slide with him, but I would assist him getting to the slides. Met with another no. After that, I was over it and just walked to the party and let my husband take him to the soft play area. I did inform my best friend about, but at that time I was over it and didn't want to ruin my god-daughters party. I don't know, the overall experience left me frustrated.

I was impressed enough that I texted three friends photos, told my wife to start planning our son's birthday party here, and was actively asking managers about upgrading to full access because I had just discovered the larger "Adrenaline" area. For context: it's Indiana winter, it was cold, and I had a hooded sweatshirt on with the hood up because I was freezing. During my 2 1/2-hour stay, I spoke with two managers about memberships--neither said a word about my hood. While walking around trying to keep up my child, I heard someone off to the side say, "Take your hood off." I approached the man, who asked me politely. I politely asked why it was a rule. His response was shocking: "So I can see your entire face on my 50 cameras." This was 11:30 a.m. on a Friday, not a packed weekend night. I turned away to continue looking for my child, removed the hood, and muttered "whatever dude" under my breath. That's when the situation escalated wildly. He charged toward me, yelling: "I'm the owner--if you don't like it, leave!" I had already complied. That wasn't enough. He then shouted: "I'll give you your money back!" And finally said something that truly crossed a line: "If there are off-colored people with hoods up and we ask them to take it down, what would that look like?" I'm still trying to understand why race was brought into this at all. Let me be clear: * The facility is great for kids * The staff and managers were wonderful * We were not leaving anytime soon until this happened But the owner's behavior was aggressive, unnecessary, and completely inappropriate. A simple rule explanation would've sufficed. Instead, it turned into a power trip with racial commentary that had no place in the conversation. Rules are rules--but how you enforce them matters. It's a little more weather dependent but truly amazing. The whole museum is so well maintained and staffed by thoughtful, caring people who really seem to enjoy their jobs and are always willing and able to help. Food is relatively affordable but the best food is bar far the tacos outside. My only complaint is that lately the bees (or wasps or whatever) have been really bad near the restaurant, and will literally try to eat anything, even cheese or chicken. They are ruthless. If they're bad when you come, grab food outside and take it indoors to the bee-free cafeteria.

A film festival is probably the last place you'd expect to experience Silly Safaris, but if you've…read moreever experienced the coolness of Heartland Film then you know that you should always expect the unexpected. In this case, the 2023 Indy Shorts International Film Festival had a "camp" theme this year. As a result, the fine folks from Silly Safaris showed up at least a couple times showing off their fabulous animal actors including such beautiful wonders as Owlbert the Spectacled Owl, Chip the Bunny Rabbit, Ruffles the Screaming Hairy Armadillo, Radar the Fennec Fox, and a handful of others including a seriously ginormous snake. Their human counterparts handled the animals well and were entertaining, informative, and great despite the unusual settings - one was the kick-off event and the other was the awards night event. People loved the animals and everyone wanted photos. My favorites were the armadillo and the owl. Silly Safaris offers a variety of programs for a variety of settings including schools, libraries, birthday parties, and faith-based programs. They also offer sponsorship opportunities and even "safari shoutouts" where you can get an "animalgram" from one of their animals. This was so perfect for the camp theme, though it probably stretched the truth of what kinds of animals you might experience at an Indiana campout. Who cares? It was so much fun. While this is an obvious program for kids, I couldn't help but notice how much all the adults enjoyed this unique experience. Indy Shorts was just voted one of the 25 coolest film festivals in the world - this is exactly why right here. These kinds of events are a blast and a great way to balance out the demands of a busy film festival. If you get the chance, I'd definitely consider a Silly Safaris program.

You win virtual tickets, that are stored on your card, that can be redeemed for prizes....Chuck E Cheese style. In order to play in the play area, you must purchase their non-slip socks. You only have to purchase them once as long as you bring them with you. You pay for 2-hour blocks of time, but they do not really harass people about their times. 2 hours was more than enough for me. The play area has seating along the wall and bar style seating along the play area rail. They had hand sanitizer positioned in a few spots on the bar. The play area has an area for smaller children that has a small ball pit, rocking horses and other equipment. Then to the left of that area is the area for the bigger kids. That area is a HUGE 4-level Jungle gym with some awesome slides, a trampoline, a pit filled with foam blocks, a ball pit with ball cannons. As I parent, I recommend bringing some headphone to listen to music, or a laptop/iPad to play games or do some work while your little(s) are playing. You may also want to bring a phone charger and/or make sure you have a full charge. Upstairs you will find a small snack bar with tables to eat at and a couple of areas sectioned off for birthday parties. It was not a very impressive party area, but would do if you really wanted to hold your party there. The snack bar has cookies, pretzels, candy, chips, water, soft drinks and pizza to name a few of the items. There is no outside food allowed here. The two hours flew by for my little. She had a great time and cannot wait to come back. I do like that accompanying parents do not have to pay to get in. Parents are not allowed to go past the first level of the jungle gym and are required to purchase socks if they do go in the play area. The venue may not be as flashy as other similar places like Smiley's or Skyzone but it is much more economical.

Low investment, fairly straightforward setup and chairs/benches surrounding the play area for adults. It's a fairly simple setup and perfect for about an hour. The center also features an indoor walking track, basketball courts and a calendar filled with events like gingerbread house making, adult classes and more. A treasure for the Broad Ripple community (and beyond).
