I believe this is a newer location for them and we fell upon it while Yelping something to do after dinner. The improv actors were witty and more legit than expected. They were impressive and fun to watch. This would be a fantastic activity for a family with teenage kids. Younger kids (under 12 probably) would just be confused and bored. Oh! It would be so nice if they offered a kid version improv! My kids would love that. They have a contract with BYU so you can guarantee the shows are always clean. That's reassuring. There is still a feeling of intimacy and the great staff is still kind. The variety of shows to choose from their line-up gives you some musicals, comedy, and drama in one theater at such a fantastic price. The sound was solid but on our visit there was a basketball game going on a well. During some of the show you could clearly hear the game(whistles PA and cheering). Ok WOW Noorda! How did I not know about you until now??…read more The Noorda is a new performing arts center that has recently opened at UVU. UVU uses it for some of their student productions, but the community uses it for other events as well. This week I visited for their performance of Sweeney Todd. This show was co-produced with the Utah Repertory Theater Company. They did a phenomenal job! The lead who played Sweeney Todd has actually had a very long and successful career on Broadway and had been nominated for a Tony. The other lead who played Mrs. Lovett is also an award winner and of the highest caliber. Perhaps one of the best single performances I have seen by an actress. What I'm getting at is--this place is no joke. It's not just a bunch of college kids messing around on stage. They know what they are doing and they are the best of the best! I was also incredibly impressed with the theater itself. It was clean, fresh, and well put together. Made for an exciting and fun environment to watch a show. The personnel were also incredibly kind and helpful. The one thing they really need to figure out is PARKING. Parking is already a disaster on this side of town. So PLEASE do something about it while you still can! Can't wait to see what else this place comes up with!

This cozy venue packs a punch and does a fantastic job of hosting musical events. The ushers are friendly and efficient-they made sure to get people in and out timely so we could enjoy the show and then be on with our lives. My only complaint, as shared by others, is the parking situation. There's not much by way of street parking and what is available gets gobbled up quickly. As long as the nearby businesses don't mind sharing, you can park a block away and walk. No big deal when the weather is nice.

Of course, not everyone is an actor, the world needs an enthusiastic audience too. The Draper Historic Theater is a small theater right off a side street in Draper. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in character. Shows sell out and people love to gather here. The seats are comfortable and because it's small, they all have a great view of the stage. But to charge trusting patrons for quality theater at an iconic theatre and then force them to watch a juvenile production of Elf was not fun to experience. The singing was bad. Only 2 actresses were standout. It was a tough watch. Many people in front of us left after intermission. A tough watch. A tough price. It has shaken my trust of local theatre and I'd be extremely weary of another Egyptian Theatre production before visiting again.

The theatre is small, much smaller than I anticipated so really any seat was great. The acoustics were great and overall everyone there was just there to have a good time. Being tall, I made sure to sit on the end of the row. But I will say, I thought the seating to be more comfortable than I anticipated. I didn't drink, but got a soda which was $3. I didn't think that was awful given I was in a theatre AND I was in Park City. The only downside was the pre-show which began with them asking for money. I assume this is because most folks are locals and they are a non-profit. All wonderful things, but it felt super salesly and honestly, I didn't come for a sales pitch I just wanted to hear some great live music, which fortunately I did.
