If you're traveling to Rio, Copacabana Palace is the place to stay. The service, amenities, and…read moresmall touches all add up to a restful and restorative stay. The resort has something for families, singles, events, conferences, couples and more. Located directly on the beach there is no where better to stay. We booked with Chase Sapphire Reserve and had quite a good amount of specials. A resort credit, an upgrade, late checkout, and free breakfast. The suite had beautiful high ceilings, spacious bathroom and living room, and we were met with a bottle of champagne upon our arrival. Concierge and hotel staff took care of everything for us from restaurant bookings to attractions to attraction and spa bookings. I can't say enough about the friendly and helpful nature of everyone we encountered. We enjoyed breakfast each morning with a beautiful buffet of fruits, pastries, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit juices, eggs, sausage, and more. We also could order off the menu for specific items. Coffee, sparkling wine, and juices included. The pool was the perfect temperature(its temperature controlled), and well attended with bathrooms right there. Outside on the beach the hotel has its own tent, chairs, and towels. Complimentary beach bag and flip flops upon your arrival. Turndown included fresh water and treats, and I loved the scents of all their products. Great restaurants on site as well as nearby.

The vibe is pretty old school, but the staff are all pretty young, so they really make the place feel more alive! Breakfast is pretty good and they have lots of options, 24hr pool, and tennis courts! What I really liked was that they had a section reserved right on the beach, where you can sit, leave your stuff, and even get a massage! Will definitely be back! They have my heart!!

The rooftop pool's…read morebreathtaking view of the beach is complemented by the Michelin-reviewed Emile restaurant on-site. The shower's water pressure is a standout feature (things I find important ), and daily room snacks add a thoughtful touch. With meticulous attention to detail, Emiliano Rio seamlessly combines luxury, exclusivity, and Brazilian sophistication. An amazing stay where no detail is forgotten. Facts: 1. Gym is small but has everything you need for a vacation gym. 2. There is food service at the pool. 3. Bottled water is provided every day. 4. Rooms are updated. 5. Sauna and Steam Room are both complimentary. 6. Beach umbrellas are complimentary. 7. There are plenty of good restaurants within walking. 8. It is safe on Copacabana Beach Strip. 9. They have a spa with an array of services.

A great, unforgettable experience. If you are looking for a hotel in Copacabana, this is it. The…read morerooms are so cozy and comfortable, and they're very spacious. My favorite part was the shower/tub. I loved unwinding with an aromatic bubble bath in the evenings. My only complaint however, is that their faucets and shower head filters clearly haven't been changed in a long time. The shower water spews in every direction with poor water pressure, as does the sink. The sink also kept clogging. My boyfriend was personally a fan of the toilet (ha!) which had a heated seat and dryer. The bed was dreamy, and thanks the pillow menu, I even found a pillow for my debilitating neck pain. The welcome treats were appreciated, as were the nightly desserts. Finally, the pool deck has the best views of the Rio and provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city below.

Golden Tulip Ipanema Plaza - Ipanema Plaza Deluxe Room

The best way to describe this hotel is that it's a 3 star hotel in a 5 star location (so I'll split…read moredown the middle and give it 4 stars). The hotel itself isn't anything special. It's small and a little on the dated side (a renovation couldn't hurt) but the location is fantastic. Seriously, it's in the heart of Ipanema Beach just steps away from the beach. I originally booked a standard room but was upgraded to a deluxe room upon arrival. The main difference between the standard room and the deluxe room is the size. Standard rooms come with either two single beds or a queen bed and deluxe rooms come with either a queen or a king bed. Additionally, some deluxe rooms (see my pictures), have a separate sofa bed sleeping area that can be closed off from the main room. It's not really a separate room so I won't call it that but just a small sitting area with a sofa bed and table. My deluxe room with a king bed was large and spacious. It's not the most beautifully decorated room but whatever. It was clean, simple and furnished with a flat screen TV, work desk, mini-bar fridge and in-room safe. The enclosed bathroom had a shower tub combo, single sink, toilet and bidet and was stocked with generic bath and body products. The staff was fantastic. They all spoke English fairly well and did their best to help me with everything from setting up day tours to providing me with an electrical adapter because I forgot mine at home. Total noob mistake, I know. The on-site restaurant was a little on the expensive side (Asian fusion) but it was tasty and had the best people watching views of the strip. Daily breakfast was included in my rate and it was delicious. There was a good mix of hot and cold dishes from eggs and sausages to fruits, pastries and cold cuts. Hotel amenities include a rooftop pool, lounge and sauna. But you're just steps away from one of the best beaches in the world so I recommend you walking across the street to Ipanema Beach. The hotel has complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. They are first come, first served so get there early to reserve one (or two). Overall, was this my favorite hotel? Not really. But would I stay here again? Absolutely. The prices are decent. The location is fantastic and the hotel itself is not bad. If you like my travel reviews, feel free to check out my travel blog. From beginning to end, we found this hotel's service( while we were in town for the Olympic's) to…read morebe - fantastic. From the front desk willingness to lend us a pair of scissors (even though it was their only pair down there) to their super kind bartender/ cafe hostess upstairs - everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly. This part of the stay did help make up for some of the parts that were a little bit lacking. The location was also amazing . . . and your view from the rooftop is beautiful. On one side you can see the beach/ocean and on the other side you can see Christ the Redeemer in the distance. Within walking distance you can find some tasty restaurants, cute little shops and the famous Garota Restaurant - Yum! And, on Sundays you are very near the Hippie Faire where there are crafts and arts alike to browse; there were so many fun and beautiful things. We also felt fairly safe in this area (but it helped that there were extra police for the Olympics in town). The food is hard to rate. The breakfast offers so so so many items with an amazing amount of fruit and pastries. While I didn't find it really high quality you sure can try a lot or things you may have never seen. I stuck to having eggs, a little bacon, a banana, and a new kind of fruit each day. My husband tried EVERYTHING!!! We also tried the Opium restaurant and only did that once . . . BUT we did however like the not fusion items on the menu and consistently ordered them when we were too tired to go out. Sure the hotel could use some remodeling in some ways and we just did not like their fusion food. Or since it was winter, I wish the pool was heated . . . burrrrrrr. But overall, my husband and I enjoyed our stay. Would we recommend it to others? YES! Wonderful service. Great location. Nice place.
