My wife and I flew from the US to Munich…read moreand upon arrival we discovered that the airline decided to rip the zippers off my luggage so that I would not be able to close it once I unzipped it at the hotel. The next day we took the damaged lugagge to Maria Büscher to see if they could repair it as we were going to be in Munich for a week. Peter explained that it would take around 2 weeks to get it repaired since he had to mail it to another location to get fixed and then have it mailed back to his shop. He then gave us the most economical options for luggage to replace my damaged one. We settled on one and it is great - standard overhead carry-on size and it is durable (my wife and I's travels continued for another 4 weeks and we had no issues or any damage on the new luggage). I also ended up buying a beautiful leather belt as I accidentally left home without one. There is a great selection of products here, leather and otherwise - wallets, belts, hand bags, overhead carry-on and checked baggage sized luggage. My wife and I ended up hitching a ride to the Bayern match that evening with Peter and Manuel too. While we were at the store, I asked the best way to get to the stadium and they simply said you can come with us. I thought they were kidding at first, but no, they were serious. And my wife and I were very thankful. What started out as a need for a luggage repair or replacement, ended up with a friendship. Peter and Manuel are wonderful people, very nice and very accommodating. Oh also, their english is much better than my german, so there was no language barrier between us. If you are local to Munich, I'm sure you are already know about Maria Büscher. If you're a traveler and need any luggage, belt, wallet, etc. assistance while in Munich, don't worry about trying to find any other place other than Maria Büscher.

I researched on price while in US and also stopped by a store in Prague to check out their price. I can tell you their Rimowa price is the lowest and they will process for VAT refund paperwork. I ended up not buying Rimowa but purchased another suitcase and a backpack. Additional 10% off if you pay in cash or 5% off by card. Bring your passport if you plan on processing for a VAT refund. They scanned my passport and prepared required paperwork and envelope. Upon arriving at the airport, customs stamped on my receipt and I mailed an envelope at the airport. Staff at the store was very friendly and helpful.

I have to say that i was really…read moredisappointed by the customer service for the following reasons: Since I was travelling and on my way to the airport, I asked to switch the old suitcase and the new suitcase and leave my old one at the store. The shop assistant told me that there is no way of doing so and instead adviced me to go to a competitor and ask them to store it. If I purchase a suitcase worth more than 500 Euros, I expect a much better service. The "highlight" of my customer experience was that when I left the shop to take care of some private matters, and then returned back, I had to listen to the shop assistants that were talking about me, while one of them told the other one to be "tough and insistent" with such requests as mine. Hence, I guess it would have been possible to fulfill my request but due to uncomfort of herself or greed of rain, they declined.

But then again, how were they to know about the cold front? I did find a nice longer 3/4 length hoodie jacket but alas, they did not have my size And while there was no cold gear that fit my need, I liked their nice bright colors for the season - pinks, bright greens & oranges. Had I had even a modicum of luggage space left open, I'd have made a purchase or 3 Next time!
