There is a huge book section covering all the how-to guides you could ever want or need to find as well as tons of travel bags and backpacking items. There is outdoor gear for camping, kayaking, hiking and any other adventure sport you'd like to try. They also have tons and tons of women's and men's clothing spanning hiking, camping, casual, workout, and other sports like skiing, etc. It's basically like a much better REI or Dick's in America. I happened to go back to buy that item and luckily, Sebastian M. and Fritz D. were both there. Both were super helpful with finding my item and most of all, they knew not only what a VAT form was, but how to fill it out correctly to save me the 19% VAT! Sadly, that was my last visit before I left Germany. I wish I had shopped there more often with VAT forms, as they had a WIDE variety of items I always wanted to purchase, but I was always there randomly without a VAT form. The guy basically advised me that for my purpose and the reported temperature I shouldn't at all be looking at the kind of gear I was looking for. At least two other shop assistants (including one at Globetrotter, who I would imagine would know judging by the specialty goods that store sells) knew the purpose and the conditions I wanted the gear for, basically just showed me what I asked for. It was refreshing to get proper advice from a shop assistant who could have tried to sell me something. Instead he told me that for my purpose and in the reported conditions I wouldn't need at all what I had been looking for. For him, and I'm sure for most shoppers, it was more important to give me proper advice than to sell me something I would have later regretted buying. So based on that a 4 star experience.
