Sept 2026 and I just bought a third Trachten Rausch dirndl. In the years since my first review I've…read moretaken many people to both the main store and the Oktoberfest pop up location. A few years ago I did buy dirndl from another shop and was disappointed in the fabric and comfort of the other dresses. The 10+ year old dirndl from Trachten Rausch that has been worn dozens of times, even lent to friends, looks newer than the other shop's after being worn only twice. I don't expect to need another dirndl anytime soon but when I do I will go to Trachten Rausch again.

I had the best experience here. I knew when I visited Munich that I wanted to buy a quality Dirndl…read moreat a reasonable price. We were staying in Old Town and I got the impression you could really only find very expensive, designer ones or touristy, low quality ones. After a lot of research, I saw Trachten Rausch come up multiple times. I walked to the store and was immediately greeted by a young saleswoman who figured out my size quickly and whisked me away to a small changing room. She brought a few options, helped me in and out of them and we settled on two final options - both reasonably priced (do not expect to spend less than 150 euro on anything quality). I chose the one I wanted and was rung up and out the door. Both sales women I spoke with spoke excellent English and didn't make me feel bad about my very poor German speaking skills. This was an excellent experience - the dirndls are beautiful and I'm excited to wear mine!

The staff however are not fantastic here as they wait around and don't offer any assistance unless you ask for it. I will come back here to buy a few more things and their stuff is of decent quality and not that expensive.

Was hoping to get a nice wintry fleece & knew Jack Wolfskin was the German equivalent to the North…read moreFace, Marmot, etc... we sought out the Munich shop soon as we could There was an exceptionally freezing cold front in Germany the time we were there & we were completely unprepared for the cold, snow & rain And, unfortunately they were not carrying their fleece long underwear or heavier coats at the this time - we saw lighter fleeces & short-sleeved tops. But then again, how were they to know about the cold front? I did find a nice longer 3/4 length hoodie jacket but alas, they did not have my size And while there was no cold gear that fit my need, I liked their nice bright colors for the season - pinks, bright greens & oranges. Had I had even a modicum of luggage space left open, I'd have made a purchase or 3 Next time!

Great deals on leiderhosen! I came by here for some used /…read morevintage leiderhosen- they have it stocked! This place has a whole collection of leiderhosen and dirndls! They're much, much cheaper than the specialty stores in the touristy areas. The leiderhosen they stock comes in a variety of qualities, shapes, and sizes. I didn't know what my leiderhosen size was, but the clerk was helpful enough to eyeball me and quote me my size. They offer a little dressing room in the upstairs area for men where I was able to try them on. I got some accessories, and a shirt that looks Bavarian, so I'm stoked! They accept credit cards too! Most of the men's clothes and dirndls are upstairs, with women's clothes and the weirder stuff downstairs. The dirndl selection was vast, as was the leiderhosen! The clerk was helpful and amused to see how excited I was to get my hands on some discount leiderhosen! I ended up with a brown suede set of leiderhosen and the cool German shirt!
