Marge is amazing. She always takes her time and does such a beautiful job arranging bouquets. You can tell she truly cares about her work and her customers. While she was helping me, another gentleman (I'm not sure if he was the owner) stepped in and took over. Unfortunately, the experience felt very different. He seemed rushed and didn't provide the same level of care or customer service that Marge consistently does. I said what? he repeate his sentence and proceeded to tell me to leave. I showed him my empty pockets on my way leaving as I told him I checked the necklace I saw jist a few seconds ago and returned it back. i told him the lady can check my body if he still doesn't believe me. and that's when she heard us and asked what's happening. he told her and I quote " i saw her steal something and put it in her shirt or whatever you call it" pointing at my long cardigan I had on top of my trousers... I am beyond pleased with the service I received from Riley's Florist. My friend was graduating from medical school in MO so I was looking for a local florist who could deliver a surprise bouquet for her. Of the places I looked at, I liked the arrangements on Riley's Florist website the best. With online orders, there is always the concern that the bouquet won't come out as advertised so I was fully aware of that and ordered the Carnival bouquet. Because of the time-sensitive nature of this surprise, I instead planned for my friend's fiancé to pick up the bouquet the day after it was ordered so it would reach my friend before she left for her ceremony. That day, I called Riley's location and he answered the phone quickly and assured me the bouquet was ready for pickup. A few hours later, I get text messages (and these pictures too) of the bouquet. Extremely disingenuous web advertising. The flowers look nothing like what I ordered. Not only that, but I upgraded to the "deluxe" bouquet and they didn't even put roses in there as pictured. For the price ($98 with tax and delivery fee), I should have received a dozen roses. It looks like something I could have picked up for $14 at the grocery store. I also asked in the order that they be delivered in the evening. Instead, they were delivered at 10am. Tried calling and only got a recording saying they weren't taking anymore orders for the day. The process to order online was so simple but what really set Riley's apart is that they called me the morning of delivery because I had accidentally ordered a funeral arrangement! Do not order through Riley's. They sent my godmother an arrangement that looks nothing like their website photo. The arrangement I chose, pink pearly pleasures, looked beautiful online, with pale pink roses, gerber daisies, effusions of ribbons, and pink and silver pearls. What they sent contained asiatic lilies, carnations (!!!!!), no roses at all, and other flowers in various colors. It looked nothing like the arrangement I picked out. When I asked that they rectify the situation by sending her what I ordered, they proposed to do so and then take back the flowers they'd already delivered!! I advised them that that was truly bad form. The salesperson would not relent, so I told him to forget it. I should have paid attention to what was written by Gaetano A., below. His experience was not unlike mine, in that the flowers he requested were not what his fiancee was sent. Do not shop here. You'll have no certainty that what you ordered will be what your loved one receives. And this shop will have no problem taking your money while substituting cheap flowers (carnations) for more beautiful ones (roses). read more

Yikes. I thought the other negative reviews were no longer valid since they are older. I should have taken them to heart... I recently ordered some flowers on my boss's behalf for someone. It was important to me, since I was shopping for someone else who has great taste, that these flowers be really beautiful and of great quality! Well, since pictures speak a thousand words, here is what was ordered vs. what was received. Clearly lower quality flowers and much more "filler" than pictured... they barely resemble the darling, happy arrangment I thought I was ordering. I felt so bad since I had spent my boss's money on something that I would never select myself for someone else. The recipient is happy, which is really all that should matter (and why I'm not giving only 1 star), but it's pretty wild that there is such a big difference between what was advertised and what was received. If the picture on the website matched this bouquet, I would have never chosen it. One great thing about this experience was the prompt service. I placed the order around 9:30 or 10 am and the flowers were delivered by 2 pm, which I thought was wonderful and almost unheard of elsewhere! I'd just like to start by saying they made things right to the best of their abilities and I was overall pleased with the service. I ordered an arrangement for my girlfriend for Valentine's day to be delivered to her workplace. I placed the order online two weeks in advance to make sure and also provided pretty explicit delivery instructions as far as a Plan A where to go with a follow up time window where they could just call her to come outside and get them. This has worked in the past with deliveries so I didn't think much of it. I hadn't heard anything from her the day of and thought maybe she either hasn't gotten them or is busy, but didn't want to ask and ruin the surprise. Come that evening I was able to confirm she didn't get them and neither of us had received a call about them. She was pretty disappointed at the time but dinner and dessert were a welcome distraction. I called the next day and I'm not sure who I spoke to but he was professional and seemed genuinely sorry about whatever mix up happened. I'm still not 100% positive what occurred, but there was a mention of them going out for delivery, showing un-deliverable or something but not coming back and asking for confirmation that she didn't receive them. I understand delivery issues happen, but was still confused why neither of the phone numbers attached to the order received a call. Once this was squared he offered a free size/category upgrade and re-delivery. She got them and they're beautiful and at least twice the size/count of my initial order. So to reiterate and sum up, there was some sort of mix-up that delayed delivery by a day, but they were professional in dealing with me and made things right. read more

What a great experience getting 100 BEAUTIFUL roses delivered on Valentines Day!! These flowers were for a 75th birthday which happened to fall on the busiest day for flower deliveries. Riley's came through in a big way. At the last minute (Feb 13th), I searched and searched everywhere for a florist willing to deliver on Valentines Day. Riley's had a bouquet of 100 long stem roses and the birthday girl was absolutely thrilled when they arrived! Riley's did a great job with a contact-less delivery - and notified the contact person as I instructed. The birthday girl said the quality of the roses was the best she's ever seen in all her 75 years. Too often, the selection on Valentine's Day is pretty bad, with browning, wilting blooms - but not these!! Just look at the picture. Great work Riley and team!! I had a horrible Valentine's Day experience yesterday, and it was even worse today. I went to the store a full week before V-Day to order tulips and irises for my fiancee. I spoke with the owner for a few minutes, and everything seemed great. I ordered about $80 worth of tulips and irises, and they said they'd throw in some "spring mix" in order to fill the bouquet out. Fast forward to V-Day, and the flowers don't arrive until almost 7PM. I called the store at 3:30, 5:30, and 6:30 trying to find out where the flowers were. The person on the other line said all the trucks were out for delivery. I asked to speak to the owner at 5:30 and 6:30, but the person told me the owner was out delivering flowers himself. Once the flowers finally arrived, they were not up to par with what I ordered. She received a whopping 6 tulips, ZERO irises, and some other random flowers. I called to speak to the owner this morning, and he was completely unreasonable. First, he insisted all his truck drivers were done delivering flowers by 5PM. Second, he didn't see what the issue was because she got the flowers, even if they weren't exactly what I ordered. Third, he flatly told me that they didn't receive any irises for V-Day, so that's why there weren't any in her arrangement. After scolding me, he put me on hold so that someone else could "deal" with me. The new guy I spoke to was much more reasonable. He pulled up my order and saw that I had paid a good bit for flowers that didn't get delivered in a reasonable timeframe and that they didn't have the flowers I had ordered. Since they didn't have irises, he offered me a full refund. And this is where it gets really interesting... the owner picked up the phone and asked the other guy what he was doing to resolve it. When the other guy told the owner he was giving me a refund, he said he didn't think it was fair, and he told me "Sir, I hope you're listening. Please don't ever come to my store again." So, if overpaying for the wrong flowers not delivered in a reasonable timeframe (plus dealing with an insulting and rude owner) is what you're in the mood for, feel free to get flowers from this place. I, however, do not intend to ever give them my business again. read more

This flower shop is right down the street from where I work, and I have stopped in a couple of times to buy flowers. Every time I do, I am left feeling satisfied (and even impressed, on my most recent visit). Granted, I have never tried to get flowers on Valentine's Day from here, but nevertheless, I have always enjoyed my experience at Riley's. On my most recent visit, this past Thursday (March 27), I was so impressed that I wanted to write this here Yelp review. I stopped in after work, running late for my mom's birthday dinner. I literally ran in and said "I need flowers for my mom's birthday, I'm kind of in a hurry, and I don't want to spend a ton of money." He put something together in less that 5 minutes that was beautiful and aromatic, and it only set me back about $20. Perfect. Plus, there was so much to the bouquet he put together that my mom said she was going to put it into two different vases. Needless to say, she loved it, and I was happy that he respected my wishes about not spending too much and was able to put together something quickly that was both beautiful and fragrant. Plus, he's a very friendly dude, and I enjoyed talking with him while he fulfilled my order. I would definitely come back here, and I just might next week, for my girlfriend's birthday. I want to start by saying that i have received about 10+ bouquets from my boyfriend when he orders flowers from Riley's and they ALL have been absolutely stunning. He has had them delivered to my office quite a few times and I'm always blown away. I work in an office of 40 guys, so even they are always super impressed when the delivery person walks in with the arrangement. We also have walked into the shop in person before and had the florists there make us some bouquets on the spot for various events and they really have an eye for what looks best. Plus they are great in working with your budget. They also have a great selection of succulents and air plants which, again, I was floored when the bf walked in the door with a driftwood/airplant piece(see pics) as a gift for Valentines Day. I have been going to Riley and his team since 2011 when he did our wedding flowers, which were nothing short of spectacular. Two personal stories: 1) we were operating under a budget for wedding flowers and got an quote from Riley which was a bit higher than we wanted to pay. We emailed back thanking him and letting him know we couldn't spend that much and he almost immediately wrote back with the same quote exactly to the amount we were willing to spend. Talk about catering to your customers needs... 2) this past January I wanted to surprise my wife with flowers and forgot to look at the hours of Riley's shop, I showed up 10 minutes before they closed and Riley proceeded to not only fulfill my order himself, but stayed at least 15-20 minutes later to chat with me about the St. Louis Blues casino night he had provided flowers for the night before. Pretty amazing. These are 2 of many stories I could tell of why this place deserves the 5 star rating. I'd give it 10 if I could!!! read more

Worst florist I have come across in over 20 years. I live in Florida and a very good friend of mine passed away in Missouri. I called their store to request a sympathy cross to be delivered to the funeral home. My friend was very proud of his Irish heritage so I asked if the cross could represent that - and only have orange roses in the middle of a white cross with a border of green leaves. LIke the picture on their website - just substitute orange for red. I asked them to send me a picture of it before delivery so I could see it. Huge mistake - it looked nothing like what I had paid 175.00 for. After talking with the owner Riley - who was very rude about the "hours" he spent on the arrangment. It had various flowers in the centerpice - none of which were orange or that looked masculine. He offered me a full refund and he would go get the flowers back from the funeral home. It has been over two weeks and no refund or return my call. AFTER HE DID GO PICK UP THE FLOWERS... Highly disapointed during a very emotional time for me.
