However, it's a nice big open park with plenty of parking where a portion is paved and the other on gravel. It's a well kept park and you can tell there's a lot of community involvement to make this an enjoyable space for all who pass through. There are also many picnic areas to enjoy under pavilions and 2 buildings where their restrooms and concession stands are located. There are 4 playgrounds placed in different areas around the park, an amphitheatre towards the wooded area, a plain wide open field with a little hill, and 3 baseball/softball fields. The playground closest to the parking lot has workout equipment for adults, making this park available for all ages. The reason for my 4-Star review is due to the fact that the park is not 100% accessible for persons with handicap and/or strollers. One playground outside the baseball fields and towards the back has no paved walkway that it is almost difficult to access through the grass. Also, my lack of 1 star is from the limited restroom access during the weekday. The only restroom available was the family restroom by the parking lot. When we would play at the other playgrounds by the baseball fields, it was quite a long walk to the lone functioning restroom. Overall, we had a good time and the kids seemed to enjoy the different playgrounds so they are never bored. Since we came during a weekday, the park didn't seem so busy.

Indiana has been and continues to be preoccupied with the still unsolved tragedy. A grainy video with audio was left behind by the secretly recording Libby. During a Tenderness Tour event in 2018, I ended up wheeling the trail that Abby and Liberty were on when they were killed. I've continued to follow the case in hopes that their murders would be solved. Abby and Liberty Memorial Park was developed in memory of these young girls. It opened "officially" this weekend and I couldn't resist the opportunity to honor their memories myself once again by visiting the park on its opening weekend. Abby and Liberty Memorial Park includes softball and baseball fields, an amphitheatre, picnic shelters, a multi-purpose building, a concession stand, public restrooms, 2 age-appropriate playgrounds, and a walking trail that wraps around the beautifully set and developed park that is actually one mile north of Delphi at the intersection of State Road 25 and State Road 218 West. Given that this was considered an official opening for the entire park, activities were buzzing and you could tell that community members were in a reflective, thoughtful space. People were friendly and smiles were aplenty, though there was also a strong sense of melancholy mixed with determination. L&A Park Foundation, an established non-profit, maintains responsibility for the park and operates with a board of directors. In 2020, L&A Park Foundation was named a recipient of the NBA All-Star 2021 Legacy Grant. I should also note that the park was designed to meet ADA standards and the trail that surrounds the park is quite nice. I'm not sure I'd say it perfectly meets ADA, though it's clear the community has worked hard to make it a place where all are welcome. Delphi has always been a rather close community. I have a couple of friends from there and even prior to this tragedy had visited Delphi on my Tenderness Tour events. This park is a beautiful way of honoring Abby and Liberty and what I would call a communal coping skill.

The shared space of the Voight Park and Softball Complex and the Monticello City Pool has a nice…read morevariety of things for visitors to do. The entrance is on the north side of the complex where 2nd St extends south of Ohio St. There is a basketball court on the north side of the parking lot while the pool, playground, and softball fields are to the south. The pool is closest to the parking area and you enter through the building to get to the fenced in pool. Not a lot of slides or fun extras here, but the pool is a decent size and has life guards on duty during their open hours. To the east of the pool is the softball complex where multiple fields are nestled together with lights and most of the features you expect. To the south (you have to walk to here) are the playground, a shelter, a beach volleyball court, and a workout station. Sorry if you have to haul a lot of food to the shelter....no vehicles allowed. But the shelter and most of the equipment looked in good condition. The workout area needed some weeding to bring it up to par, but otherwise seemed functional. Lots to do and fairly well maintained, this park is a place to check out for some low cost fun in Monticello. Review #2758

What a gem of a park that will serve the area for decades to come. The Lafayette Aviators (essentially a college summer league) play their games here. The majority of players (I would estimate) are division 1 or 2, trending toward 2. But the baseball is good, these are players who know how to play. It is functionally identical to Kokomo Municipal (which I have also been too). Again there simply is everything to love about this stadium if you are a baseball fan and a perfect way to spend an evening watching summer baseball. Parking is a bit tricky in the area if you have never been FYI. It felt (?) like parking was limited to lining the nearby residential streets, perhaps I missed something larger.

My husband is in a wheelchair, so he had a seat. I had nothing! They offered me a plastic folding chair but it hurts my back. I have plantar fasciatis so I can't stand on cement. The staff who had originally seated us in the wrong seats were rude when they moved us. They did offer seats in different sections. I spent over $100 there tonight but NEVER AGAIN!

The park has a very nice paved walking trail, 2 picnic pavilions with picnic tables under it, a bathroom facility, three light baseball diamonds, a BMX trail, a tennis court, a basketball court, and a playground area. The basketball court is in decent shape. The tennis court, however, not so much. It almost looks abandoned. The paved walking trail is in good repair. It. The playground is good. It is lined with wood chips and has a couple of banks of regular swings, a large jungle gym with a small slide, a spiral slide, and monkey bars, a merry go round, see-saws, circular monkey bars, a bank of toddler swings, a slide, a hold and spin. There is a separate playground area for smaller children that is fenced in and has small jungle gym and animal rockers. Both areas has benches on the outskirts that parents can sit on and watch their littles play. The larger play area also has picnic tables placed along the grounds. The park is jointly owned by the town and township, whatever that means and is home to a 300-capacity community building that can be rented for special events. There is the Lilly Building, which is also available for rent and it hold 475 people. The park is well maintained is even though it is not as modern as the newer parks that are popping up, it still has a lot to offer. It is on the border of being a destination park. My littles and I enjoyed the park and had a great time. It was a nice day and we had the park all to ourselves, which was cool.

As frequently seen on larger parks, maintenance of lawn and mulch areas could be weeded more often. The park seemed to be clean. Overall, a nice park for organized games or for leisurely play. Unfortunately there is very little shade so your car ends up roasting under the sun. The place could definitely use with some nice green trees to provide natural shade. Restrooms: off to the left you'll see a brown, wooden construction which has male and female restrooms. I went into the female one and almost ran back out. There were two stalls but with no doors. Completely infested with mosquitoes (no joke) and just overall really filthy. I would highly advise against using them unless you are absolutely desperate. If you keep walking past the restrooms you'll see a narrow trail that leads to the creek. The creek is nice and the water is pretty shallow in most places. Good picnic spot, or a place to bring kids, or just hang out with friends/read a book.
