Not having a real clue about who to go with I called several different home inspectors, but Mark was the quickest to get back to me and very accommodating with my schedule needs so I went with him. I am very glad I did. He showed up right at the planned time, and spent a lot of time with me patiently answering all my questions, going all over the outside of the property, up on the roof, in the attic, opening electrical boxes, explaining each system in the house, and thoroughly going over each room. He took pictures of all the issues he found and i got a great report with notes and pictures for anything that he suggested addressing. This was very helpful as it is hard to remember everything that gets pointed out or exactly what it looks like. It was a pleasure working with Mark and I would highly recommend him to anyone else who is looking to get their home inspected.

DO NOT use this home inspector, Doug Maas of A Closer Look Home Inspections (http://acloserlookhomeinspections.com/). He failed to detect three obvious defects that have cost us a significant amount to repair. When asked to reinspect and refund his fee, he instead provided misleading information AND offered to "fix" one of the defects in a manner that does not address the root cause or underlying damage.

Fast forward 11 years and we are now selling the home. The buyers also hired Mr. Chariton to inspect the home and he found several issues that were never included in our report from 2003. Issues including knob & tube wiring in the attic, asbestos duct insulation in the basement, un-grounded outlets throughout the home and a cracked vent pipe. The electrical is costing us 2600 to fix prior to the sale of the home. Had he found these issues 11 years ago we would have pressed those sellers to fix them. Instead we've been living in an unsafe environment for 11 years, 2 of which we had a child. Extremely dissatisfied with the experience.
