I really wish that I had looked this place up before I went to it. I only tried it because of the Ehlers Danlos Society local group someone mentioned Kristen had it or something- so you would THINK, someone familiar with chronic illness, wouldn't be so disgustingly rude, condescending and outwardly judgmental. It literally makes me want to vomit. I happened to sort of like the NP, who has now left- and that is now the problem, it's affecting my getting my actual medication I CANNOT JUST NOT HAVE. I can have a seizure....it s NOT ETHICAL what they are doing.
I had an initial appointment and switched mental health medications, and was already on a benzodiazapam (xanax), in addition to ADHD medication. I had met with the practitioner Kristen Smith, and she called in my normal medications, had changed the antidperessasnt, given me paperwork for bloodwork, a dosing schedule to taper and add new antidepressant, and even suggested supplements for pain, so I was happy and impressed. Lets go to the next appointment, I am told
a) she is leaving
b) if I am not willing to "lower my doses" of medication I have been on for years, that after having spoken to MANY people, the doses are standard and not on the higher side at all...but she said that Kristine Clemens or whatever, the main practitioner, wouldn't be "comfortable" continuing to prescribe those doses and she is leaving. She first lied and said that the xanax had a refill, and it didn't so I had to go back and let her know and argue about that, but I still don't have my ADHD medication, my old practitioner now I guess is questioning and pissed off I left in the first place and acting like he won't see me until the end of the month when my meds are due, so now Im actually screwed.
So next I receive a $300 bill bc my insurance lapped, but no one told me it cost $300 to be told they will NOT prescribe my medications. I didn't know that she was actually gone at this point in time, so I had sent a message to her in the portal letting her know that my previous provider was not answering me, and that I did switch to medicaid insurance now, so that they can rebill that $300, but that I didn't think it was fair that I was upfront and honest this whole time, and why I was ever even accepted as a patient to be told I have to switch my current regimen that's been working fine for many years, and can she please call in the ADHD medication. Again, I had just recently spoken to her and seen her for the appt and didn't realize she was no longer there already. Well, I received the most RUDE, JUDGEMENTAL NASTY response I have ever seen in my life. I literally am questioning writing to the board for all that has transpired as it is extremely unethical. Anyhow the response I received was this "Mina, Please call the office with the appropriate insurance information. Kristene is gone and will not be able to respond to your message. I cannot send medication for a person I have not met. You'll need to clear up insurance issues and make an appointment to see me. I can tell you I do not prescribe alprazolam and stimulants."
So, in short, Dr. Kristin Clemens, as another PRACTITIONER even reviewed, is extremely rude, clearly very uneducated, and judgmental. She is basically telling me to pay her but she wont help me. Again, I should have never been admitted and I really wish that I had looked up reviews prior because her message is just so stupid on so many levels. First, I dont have to update my info I already have shit credit at the moment, so why are you speaking to me this way? Second, clearly the message was not TO HER, NO ONE EXPECTED HER TO CALL ANYTHING IN, ok?! Like who does this?? And then to say "you need to clear up issues and make appt to see me but I don't prescribe what you take," is so rude and unnecessary I just cannot say it enough.
Its no wonder why Dr. Smith left and why Dr. Clemens is probably struggling and by herself. Again, you would think someone familiar with chronic diseases would be familiar with BS we already get from other practitioners and people in our lives. We get gaslighted, told we don't have an illness, called hypochondriacs or crazy, etc. ESPECIALLY those diagnosed with EDS!!! So it truly just BOGGLES my mind how someone supposedly familiar with this disease and struggles from it themselves, would then project the very gaslighting, rude, better than thou attitude that we already deal with! I dont normally write reviews but this was that upsetting to me. It didn't even happen today and I am still upset. read more
