The presentation sounded pretty promising and after that was over they sat with each family one on one to try to sell you one of their packages. I had already wasted 3 hours so I still wanted to hear what the sales person had to say but I had already made up my mind. Folks - stay away. Like many parents, I received a letter informing me that my child was already enrolled for an appointment. The services 'Right C3' wants you to pay $$$ for are all provided *for free* (or low cost) from other local agencies. Where to start in any city: 1 - Make an appointment with your high school college advisor/counselor. They are usually a great resource for providing information on scholarships, grants, financial aid, application tips, college visits, etc. *Important note* - Most colleges now require a letter from your high school advisor/counselor. Some high schools have a formulaic way of developing these letters, but since they are often writing for hundreds of kids, it often helps the advisors to meet with a parent to really understand what college will be the 'best fit.' Set up your appointments early Junior year if you can...Sept. - Feb. is the busiest time for them. 2- Your high school principal(s) AND your local library are also key primary resources. They should have the names & contact info. for agencies in your area that offer free test prep, tutoring, college support & other similar services. Special note for ST. LOUIS county families - Beyond the schools & libraries, there are also some excellent & comprehensive St. Louis-area programs to support your student. Many of these focus on low-income or first-generation college students. This place is a scam. What could be more effective than selling to a struggling single parent or a low-income parent (or in my case, both)? What could be more effective than selling this to a parent who is desperate to send their child to a good college? What could be more effective than offering a teenager the college of their dreams on a silver platter? When they are at a vulnerable time in their life and all they want is to do is support their parents and achieve big things? I feel like their is explicit evil, and there is covert evil like this. We paid money to this company six years ago, and those $3000 my mother paid them (money she earned doing backbreaking work) still haunts me to this day. I still remember the face of the woman who sold us this plan. The way she nodded when I asked if they REALLY got students into their top-choice colleges. We recently received a letter from Right C3 inviting us to a seminar that would teach us about applying for grants for college. Since my daughter is a senior in high school I made the assumption without checking that they had received her name from the high school. And that this was a legitimate program. My daughter and I attended the seminar today at the Holiday Inn Express in Oakland Ca. It became clear to me about halfway during the presentation that they were going to ask us for money. Sure enough during the interview process they asked us for $2000. And that they needed a decision by today or tomorrow at the latest. She also told me that she would be willing to except $37 a week. I told them I don't make decisions with my money that quickly and that they should've included on the original flyer that this is a program that they would be asking $2000 for. I thanked her for her time and we got up and left. After getting home I looked them up on the Internet and saw all of the poor reviews regarding the company. I think of all those people in attendance there today and I wonder how many of them fell for that nonsense. A real shame read more

I can literally get the same services for free by contacting my highschool counselor. This is absolutely nothing more then a hoax. Please tell everyone that Right C3 is completely useless. This is a legit comment and I'm glad that I have avoided that letter. I am now a student at public 4-year university and it was all thanks to my school counselor. Right C3 may... help, but the price is far from worth it. I hope those out there aren't targeted by this. P.S. I would sign up for Scholarships as soon as highschool hits around. Contact the counselor and look for schools around your area, or research schools out of state if that's your niche and contact their financial aid advisors. Right C3, LLC is a Scam....I received a solicitation from this company stating how they can help my son get into college and that with my son unique grades they would be able to receive a 100% of financial aid and scholarships and all we had to do was attended their workshop. Well we attended their workshop in April of 2014 located in the Tampa Florida area where they showed a presentation and then afterwards they had a one on interview with my family and assured us that with my son honor roll grades they will research the scholarships he would need to apply to attend college, they would also help him with all college applications, financial aid and etc. I stressed to representative many times before anything was signed and paid for this program exactly what their roll would be in this process. This person assured my husband and myself that they will help my son with getting into college and will do all the research require to match him up with the BEST Scholarships. Yes, you guessed it we signed up paying Right C3 the amount of $1,998 and what a big mistake!!! after they TOOK our hard earned funds they said my son needed to complete an assessment form which will help them determine the scholarships that would best meet his needs. Well my son complete all the forms they require and we never heard from them again. In May of 2014 I called them and said why haven't we heard from you and the response was that we now needed to apply for financial aid download the file and they would view and make suggestions to us...this was to be done before we can move forward, so we completed FAFSA application and guess what? the file sat on my son's account for 5months they did NOTHING!!!!. I am the one that did the research for scholarships and financial aid for my son to attend college. My son is enrolled in college because of me the parent! Right C3 did ABSOLUTELY nothing but take our $$$$. Very Frustrated I called left messages sent emails and no response from Right C3...Finally five months later in October I called and spoke with Rosa express my feelings and asked the question why did I pay your company $1,998 for a program that was to provide guidance and information to help with my son and I have received nothing. Well to my surprise her response was that Right C 3 is there to provide any answers to any questions that a parent or college student may have. Really!!! I paid 1,998 to ask questions, I expressed to her that when I attended their workshop that's not was sold to me then if I knew that at the workshop I would had never paid for this program that is a SCAM!! Obviously a scam. Beware. I wonder how anyone who works for this company sleeps at night knowing they earn a living preying on the most vulnerable among us. Their initial letter carries many classic signs of a scam letter; no return address, vague and conflicting information, false deadlines/time pressures, vague suggestions that you are a bad person/parent if you don't follow through. Then you go to their free seminar, after which you meet with one of their "counselors" one on one, who is really a high pressure sales person who locks you into anywhere from $35-$70 per WEEK payments. They tell you that you can cancel at any time, but the fine print on the contract says you must cancel within three days, otherwise you are locked in. This costs parents thousands of dollars. I don't have much experience in college knowledge and this seemed like a great informational presentation. Right up until they told me they needed 2K today or tomorrow and that you can only register 1 time during the year, and today is that day. Not once was there a mention of a cost beforehand, nor that today was THE ONLY day we could pay, bare minimum a deposit for their services. They pull families aside at the end of the presentation to start talking about cost of their program, but first they ask your child about their hopes and dreams. They get them excited about opportunities before they bring up the cost. They ask for a deposit while you sit there, after a 45 minute "informational" speech. No time to verify their claims of excellence or research the company. It was hard to do much research beforehand as the invitation was incredibly vague and lead me to believe this was just informational or, at least, something I could register for when we were ready. The rep literally told me that college money isn't going to fall out of a tree somewhere, but when I told her I had no money for this program she said she was a spiritual woman and that if I somehow got the money by tomorrow to contact them. I stormed out and she proceeded to walk behind me with my son the whole way to the door telling him about how important college is. Absolutely the most sketchy thing I've seen in a while. They send out this con letter that I still have that says XXXX, are scheduled to participate in an educational group presentation followed by a personal interview to help determine college admission and financial aid eligibility. My daughter selected the college she attending on her own! We handle all the financial aid information. We went to the orientation. My daughter schedule the Act and Sat and did not need any assistance scheduling. They can not find you extra money it all depends on the college and the funds that they have available. I (student) went to one of their workshops at Hilton San Diego/Del Mar today with my legal guardian after receiving a letter whose contents are similar to what other reviewers in this platform described. Now, as a teenager who simply lives with his relatives until the end of high school, I've come to terms with the fact that I'll be on my own the moment I graduate, which means that I definitely need all forms of financial and as a result, naturally, me and my guardian were enticed by the letter and eventually headed to our destination. How it goes: Checking in -- Presentation -- One-on-one Interviews The presentation is pretty much straightforward. Ignoring the testimonials and underlying self-endorsements, you get to learn more about forms of financial aid (need-based, merit-based, etc.) as the presentation moves along. Now for the more controversial part: the interviews. Before we officially started, my guardian asked the interviewer (let's call him Z), "Is there an overall cost for this program?" In response, Z laid out the different payment plans while alternating between elaborating on financial aid and college admissions & naming the features of the C3 program that you can access if you make the ~$2k payment. I was able to ask every question I wanted to ask during the moment (some include "How exactly does the FAFSA work?", "Is financial aid good for all 4 years of college?", "Is there a cap for loans?", etc) and Z was very cooperative and helped enlighten me with answers and suggestions. Ultimately, we turned his offer down and thanked him You're probably wondering (maybe impatiently) by now, "So how was it?" 1. Discounting the marketing approach by the end of the interviews, the presentation and the conversation with our interviewer was informative. 2. To counter other reviewers here, C3 Workshops are NOT SCAMS if you went to one of them with the intention of knowing more about financial aid instead of fully relying on them for help. C3 is like any other business and as consumers, we should know better by being careful around any business offers/endorsements presented to us and C3 is just one of them, technically speaking. However, I am not invalidating the "scam!" claim of the people who actually paid partially or fully. 3. However, I wouldn't recommend investing into the program. Most (if not all) of its features can be replicated by you through research, networking, and interactions with other people and does not require a four-figure amount of money to gain access to: a. Math, science, and English help is more accessible online (Khan Academy is a good resource, for one!) and offline (asking teachers, looking at different teacher websites online). b. Don't know your dream career/college yet? Go to CaliforniaColleges. It is a FREE website that can help you with archives of information about potential careers and the colleges that offer those degrees. c. Need tips for PSAT/SAT/ACT? I recommend PrepScholar and Khan Academy. d. Need help with your Personal Statement? Consult your English Language Arts teacher and/or search online for tips on how to improve your writing. 4. "Sooooo, what's your point, Aidan?" Getting to your ideal school is still possible without paying a ridiculous amount of money. If you allot time to do your research and start on the things you need to do by yourself, you'll pretty much get the same result. Look at it this way: the ~$2,000 you spent on the 3 to 4-year program could've spent on the tuition fee of your son/daughter. Not a scam! I've been working for this company for 4-1/2 years and I've seen the honest work it does with families and the great results it gets with them. Yes, families are invited to a free workshop where they are given a lot of free information - and where most families say much of this information is new to them. They are then invited to participate in our program for a cost which is not only affordable but comes with great value! We begin working with students as early as 8th grade to build a road map to earn free money for college, understand what it will take to be accepted into their dream schools and help them with coaches all along the way, including unlimited tutoring and test prep and financial aid. I would never work for a company that would promise a child and his or her family so much and then scam them out of their money. I've seen my own personal friends' children benefit greatly from using this program. It works when the student uses the tools provided. I've seen the financial aid offers for the students in the program. I've seen the acceptance rates. Over 90% of the students in the program get accepted into at least one of their top 2 schools every year. I do this work out of service to the kids who may not have the chance to go to college. I never had help through this process and would have been so grateful for a program like this growing up. Most of the reviews I've read here of from people who have not actually used the program but seemed offended by actually having to pay for help. I get that. Up til now most of education is free. Try paying $2000-$5000/month every month your child is in college and then wonder if a $2000 investment in some help just might not have been worth it. read more

I would not suggest this service to anyone that I know EVER! I received a flyer for my son and went to the seminar in Phoenix, AZ. My son is a senior in HS and we thought the program seemed adequate and helpful. I agreed to pay for their services. Fast forward two weeks later, my daughter has fallen terribly ill and is in the hospital and has been for several days with a life threating illness. I placed a call to the company to discuss cancelling the contract which has not been in place yet for 30 days. I spoke to a VERY rude individual who gave a name of "SUSIE" 888-757-4020). She was very unfriendly, not understanding and just plain rude. Per the documents, they only allow 3 days to cancel your contract, and in order to do so, you must mail a document to them via snail mail (we know they would not get the snail mail within 3 days) so its a trap. We attended the Right C3, LLC meeting and were charmed by their spill. However, when we got home we had issues from the first day as we were told that our child would have tutoring at any time he needed and the website contradicted what we were told. The website noted that tutoring only occurs on specific days and times. The tutoring was the main selling point for our family; but this company did not offer anything that our child could not get at his own high school in regards to tutoring. We canceled our contract timely, as we signed the back of our contract to void out our contract the first business day (the contract only allows 3 business days to cancel the contract) and sent it to the company certified mail. We had no issues getting our money refunded. We did find that the SAT prep can be provided FREE by Khan Academy. Most High Schools provide before school and after school tutoring FREE. Help with college essays can be obtained from High School English Teacher for FREE. FASFA has a website and can be completed for FREE. Most colleges list scholarships on their website for FREE. Most High Schools have a list of local scholarship for FREE. It appears that the services that Right C3, LLC can be obtained for FREE. The people attending the meeting were people from middle to low socioeconomics and get pulled into their spill not realizing that they can obtain the same services for FREE. I went to one of their workshops, they gave a tedious presentation then after they had a one on one session to talk about the business aspect of the company. These people are not college advisors, these people are businessmen and they know what they're doing. They target low income, veteran, and overall people who they believe might be vulnerable. This is not a scam but only by the narrowest margin. It IS a Bait and Switch. They get you in on a pretense and then charge $2000 for services that are completely unnecessary. Instead of spending $2000 on a useless service, put the $2000 towards a laptop, internet and a bunch of books. Princeton Review has some fine ones out there that help with test prep and scholarship searches and they aren't the only ones. You can also get these books from a library to use for free. Another great source is College Boards, the site where you sign up for the SAT's. They have prep tests, information and suggestions for colleges and scholarships tailored to you after you fill out a survey and it's all for FREE. The colleges whose students manage almost 100% financing? They're out there on the web for you to find. They're listed on most of the top college search websites and they're known to the guidance counselors at your local schools. As for the FAFSA? Just go onto the site and look at the application. It's long, but not scary. If you can read basic English, you can answer the questions. How much income do you make? Do you have investment property and how much income do you get from them? Do you have a savings account? How much is in it? I'm paraphrasing, but those are the basic questions. You don't even have to know the answers from your tax return, the site will connect to the IRS site and download the answers from the site so you don't have to. This company does nothing illegal, but it disgusts me because it preys on students and parents who are facing crucial decisions, are desperate for answers and are frightened that the answers might not be what they need. It preys on the parents who are afraid of missing one crucial piece of information that could provide their child with the answer to their dreams. The truth of the matter is that your funds would be better spent being put towards that child's tuition. Let's put this in the perspective of business planning. The only reason to spend money is if you get a return on it. The purpose of spending that $2000 has to be in order to get more than $2000 return on it, otherwise, just put the $2000 aside for tuition. So what return is acceptable? It is highly unlikely that any service is going to find $3000 to $4000 more than you'd find on your own. What you are doing, in essence, is gambling that $2000 of your child's tuition and that is never a good idea. To put the personal experience perspective on this, my daughter found a number of colleges that helped students to manage with little outgo of their own. In the end, the one she chose, Arcadia University, sent her a financial aid package before she'd even given them her acceptance. It included everything she needed including information on the loans she'd need and the forms she needed to get them. Between what they are offering and the financial aid available, my daughter is going to attend a $45,000 a year college and have to pay less than 10% out of pocket, which can easily be managed with an additional loan. read more

I am a hardworking high school student who was sucked into this program. When I signed up, I truly believed they would help me with my path to college. Unfortunately, if you don't read the fine print you're pretty much screwed. The program itself is pathetic, you can find all of the information they give you on Khan Academy and college websites. They did a good job of hiding the truth and the next thing you know I'm getting charged 38$ weekly throughout my high school career. I am basically working just so I can pay them. :( read more

For a bunch of "college advisors" they are pretty darn clueless. If I ever went to their workshop again I would probably go their just to tell everyone there that they're a scam. Absolutely stay away from this company. I'm a college counselor. I know what's going on with this. They are scam artists that will NOT provide you with the help you need. I have parents who luckily check with me when they get letters like this. Do NOT let yourself be fooled into this. Reputable College Advisors will never do high-pressured sales like this. If you want to hire someone, go to the HECA or IECA webpages and do a search for a trained professional in your area. I doubt that these scam artists at "Right C3, LLC" are trained or professionals in this line of work. Save your money. read more

I am a hard working single parent. I have a 16 year old daughter. I received a letter from C3 LLC to attend a seminar for getting into college. Of course I was interested for the sake of my daughter. I have to admit the speaker Dyrell was very convincing. The lecture was about 1hr 45 min. Again, everything that I was looking for they seemed to offer. After the lecture we were paired up with a very nice young lady. She was very patient and seemed very sincere. She talked briefly about the program. She pulled out a contract. When I saw the amount if 1,998. I was reluctant to go further. She informed me that I could pay in installments. I told her that I wanted to talk it over with my daughters father and my mother. She informed me that today was the last day. If I didn't take this offer then my daughter would have to wait until next year. I panicked and signed up. The first payment is 76.00 and there after 38.00 a week. After I got home I decided to research reviews. Wow. It was amazing how many bad complaints were made. This made me extremely nervous. The next day I called to cancel. PLEASE BE AWARE. YOU CAN'T CANCEL VIA A CALL. YOU HAVE TO SIGN AND DATE THE BACK OF THE CONTRACT BEFORE THE 3 DAYS ARE UP. I SENT IT OVERNIGHT TO MAKE SURE THAT I GET A SIGNATURE. I AM NOW AT PEACE KNOWING THAT I DIDN'T CAUGHT UP IN THIS AWFUL SCAM. When I called the women told me that should put a cancel on my account. I should receive a refund of my 76.00 that I payed. What I found interesting was that I didn't pay yet. I just have my account number. So, why would they still try to attempt to get the money? I AM WELL WITHIN THE 3 DAYS. THEY REALLY ARE GOOD AND MANIPULATING WORDS. THANKS TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO TOOK THERE TIME OUT TO SHARE THERE MISHAPS. read more
