Our daughter goes to South Loop Elementary school in Chicago, it's the worst after school that we ever dealt with. They yell at kids all the time too. The main issue that place is extremely UNSAFE and very poorly managed. They don't do any activities with kids. Our daughter had her head cut, she was bitten by another child, she was hit in the face by another child, she was hit in her teeth, now she has infection in her finger and on antibiotics. I was told that she has a splinter as she was playing with a dirt!! It developed into infection and now it has to be monitored so it doesn't turn into sepsis. Avoid at all costs. Update: after I spoke to two area managers about my concerns, they reassured me that they will talk to staff members and will keep an eye on my daughter to make sure that she doesnt get any more injuries. I took her back, for one day she was fine and then I got a call that she fell off money bars and hit her nose, and face, we went to urgent care, they told us that we have to go to the hospital to get stitches. We spent all night in the hospital, next week have to see plastic surgeon, we have to take 2 types of antibiotics again! I can't believe this, she is never going back to Right at School at South Loop elementary. read more

Garbage. 1st day and person who created us was high, took the 12 forms we had to fill out and tossed them in a pile, didn't verify who we were and never asked for the pin or ID when we picked them up. My kids, who absolutely love going to school hated it. My 5 year old cried and begged not to go back. Bunch of balls tossed in the gym. No curated activities. Arts and crafts included modeling clay, coloring worksheets, and legos. Again, nothing organized. NOTHING related to the weekly theme. "Pizza party" was a couple of boxes of pizza on a table. No drinks, no decorations, nothing. Not gonna bother sending them back for the rest of the week. Called the area manager and I got the pitch that the very well designed website states. No concern for the ridiculous state of affairs my kids are describing. Absolutely will not recommend and will make sure everyone and Hanover County School board knows what's going on in their schools. This before and after-school care program is extremely profit-focused. Instead of paying a little more and training/securing appropriate staff, these programs are led by poorly-paid, unsupervised people without childcare training/expertise, people who don't seem to like children at all. Kids are treated poorly, not allowed to go outside, made to run laps inside, yelled at, and generally treated disrespectfully. The promises of cool enrichment activities are only empty promises. Kids are not able to decompress after school and are treated without even the most basic level of respect. If your district is exploring this program as an option, do what you can to find another option for your kids. read more

I cannot recommend Right At School at Noble Elementary based on our experience. My 6-year-old daughter endured weeks of what I consider intimidation and bullying by a staff member. She was repeatedly yelled at, singled out in front of her peers, excluded from activities, and made to feel like a problem child. The tone and discipline style used were harsh and inappropriate for young children, and I personally witnessed frequent yelling. Inappropriate music was also played in the presence of students. (And it is important to note here that my daughter is an amazing human and has won numerous awards for good behavior and academic achievement) After I reported my concerns to the Area Manager and Senior Area Manager, the behavior did not improve. In fact, my daughter reported feeling increasingly targeted. She became anxious, cried daily about attending, and was emotionally distressed for weeks. she deliberately bullied my child and treated me with so much disrespect to ellicit a negative reaction, but I resisted and tried my best to fight her with the authority not just for my child but for the entire kids because they deserved better What is most disappointing is the lack of meaningful response from leadership. After escalating my concerns to senior management, including the Vice President, I received no resolution. This further explained why this lady carried on with impunity, she knew the organization cared nothing about the children hence her reckless treatment towards those kids. No child should feel traumatized or fearful in an after-school program that is supposed to provide care and support. Families deserve transparency, accountability, and staff who are patient and nurturing. This lady has no business caring for those kids. Children who have been learning from 830am to 330pm deserve some unwinding not a military camp with a lady who obviously cannot stand children Parents should carefully evaluate this program before enrolling their children. False advertisement - "high-quality academic enrichment, active play, and social skill-building'. My kids came home every day with NO homework completed. They watched movies and played. There was no structure and it did not enrich my kids lives nor mine. The staff propped open the outside door so anyone could walk in. The teachers yelled at all of the students. When asked for the schedule to know what my kids would be working on and to know the expectations, they told me that they don't have a schedule. They also told me that if I wanted my kids to have healthy nondyed friendly snacks, that I need to provide them. My daughter brought home a flyer for the summer camp and I went online and chose (4) weeks and paid the registration fee. Online it showed that out of the (4)weeks that I had chosen, (2) of those weeks were $116/week and the other two were $145/week. (This was for the half a day program). I literally went back and forth with the representatives over a week about the price and even screenshot and emailed it to them and they still wouldn't honor it. I am a single mom and work full time from home and this has been an extremely stressful summer for my daughter and I. Horrible communication, I went to pick my daughter up and almost made it to the car when she started saying her arm was hurting. When I asked why, she said she fell off the playground during the program that day. I immediately turned around and asked where the incident report was. Customer service is terrible! I was told that on several occasions that someone will transfer my questions or needs to a supervisor. Someone would call back at a random time (once) if you miss the call they don't call back and the issue is still not resolved and the cycle just keeps repeating itself. The staff at Lincoln elementary in Wauwatosa, WI is loving, patient and attentive and we are happy that we have this program. They have incorporated several group projects this year, including designing a mini-golf course out of cardboard boxes which the kids loved. My only complaints are the snacks are awful (Cheetos etc), they tend to not go outside until later in the day so if you pick up prior to 5p your child hardly has any outdoor time, and they move the older kids (gr 2 & up) to the cafeteria for the entire time and it would be nice if those kids were in a more calming space. I have to email every day, call, leave messages, NO REPLY other than an automated one telling you to go on line. Most day cares just renew your child every term until you withdraw them. Right at school has a faulty system. Their system over registered folks before opening dates for re enrollment. Their system allowed folks to register even before the official opening date communicated to the existing students. Not one student who re enrolled per the guidelines provided by RAS got in because of the goof up of the area managers and the system. Come a month before school reopening they say that we are moved to waitlist. The area manager is a joke. has not responded to a single email or a call. Not worth taking this organisation seriously. Stay away from this place, Right at school is the worse. Set my child up to attend Right at school, afterschool program and I've had nothing but issues. They are understaffed right from the beginning and didn't tell anyone. They also mix TK/K with the older grades 1-3. TK/K should have their own classes. I asked for an agenda the first day of school and never got one, after I brought it up again they still didn't provide it, basically have to demand it and not leave before they will give one. Tried to make a complaint about my child getting hurt (hit in the eye, hit in the mouth, knocked to the ground with cuts and bruises) nothing, I cannot reach anyone higher. They don't have the staff to watch the kids, complaints goes unheard, it never reaches the District manager. The local staff just hides everything from the district manager and there's no way to reach anyone other then to use the online form, and then, no one responds. The 855 phone number says they're too busy so it just hangs up on you and tells you to use the online form. All they do is let your child play outside, no matter what time I pick him up, 2:45, 3:00 3:30, 3:45, they're always outside. So essentially it's 1:40 to 4:00 is just play time. Recently I noticed they do go in at 3:00 and I find out they don't have any classroom till 3:00, that was not made aware to any of the parents, and is not what the agenda shows. That's still a lot of outside time, so when they say they help with homework, do STEM activities, writing, reading, math, it's all a lie, don't believe what the website says. Do your research before leaving your kid in the hands of this awful place and incompetent people. I'm sure other locations maybe ok, but if you're in Los Angeles Area / San Gabriel Valley. If only I could give negative stars for such an awful company. The "inclusion" team for children with behavioral issues is seemingly non-existent and useless. They are extremely understaffed with a huge roster of kids at most locations, they employ terrible management and even worse upper management to handle the programs and treat lower ranking employees like absolute garbage. The program itself is just okay. My daughter doesn't mind going and seems to enjoy herself for the most part. The problem is with the administration and online tools. They aren't very good about getting back to you with questions and the billing department has frequently billed our account incorrectly. They also advertise that they will help your while with their homework. My child has never once come home with completed home work. The pricing for the program is pretty good but I guess you get what you pay for. Let me start by saying this is the third year my children have attended Right at school. I have no idea what has happened to their screening process. Clearly this needs to be looked into. Not only was an employee able bully and harass my child my eight year old transgender child about using the restroom, but also tried to "explain" to my child that there is no way they know at Eight years old what they are. This all took place in a room full of their peers AND four other staff members. That same employee took away my other child's phone when they tried to contact me. Terrible childcare! The program was SEVERELY understaffed in the South Loop area. Sent my kindergarten age son to the summer camp and pulled him out on the 3rd day when bullying was an obvious problem. My son's behavior changed. He became easily upset and started doing aggressive flicking behaviors with his hands -- learned from the bully. There were approximately three classrooms with kids from kindergarten to 8th grade mixed in together! Common sense would at least keep children clustered by ages. When I picked my son up on the third day, he came running, yelling, and crying to me. He had dirt on his clothes and face. He was scared and obviously had been bullied. When I went to the classroom he was in, the lights were out and all 30ish of the kids were sitting around the ONE adult. I talked to three staff members and all they could tell me is that, after lunch, my son walked out of the line and was visibly upset. How was no one watching the kids in a line after lunch? Staff informed me they are not able to help the kids but the older kids are able to help the younger kids. Having the older elementary school kids responsible for the younger kids is INSANE! Thankfully, our son was accepted to a school that does NOT use this program for camp or aftercare. This program gives CPS employees a significant discount but it's not worth the physical or mental health and safety of a child. As someone who works with children, myself, I wouldn't send my child to any of their programs if they paid me to! read more

On July 20, 2021, My child was "assaulted by strangulation" per ER diagnosis and my sons statement by a boy that attends this child care, along with my twin boys and yet....not one staff knew anything about it, asked any of the kids after the fact if they knew who did it and not one staff member was present or supervising when this occurred. It's like it was a ghost did it! Not one staff member even saw the red circle mark around his entire neck for the entire day until I pointed it out???? When I picked him up, the marking around his neck was so noticeable!! I immediately asked what had happened and why I was not contacted! The staff member was clueless and blamed my sons shirt did it from the sweat. Cops were immediately called by ME! Not them! ME!!! Took a report and got a case number and I still wait for a response if they will file charges. I took my son to the ER that second and my son explained to the doc word for word what had happened and the doc looked at his neck and examined him, said he was assaulted by strangulation and sent us on our way. He said a boy took a jump rope and wrapped it around his neck and started choking him. He said he couldn't breath! It took 1 week to even lighten up and he has terrible anxiety now! He was so upset @ the time, that the time he gave me when this "occurred" was all over the place. The management looked at some surveillance video but ONLY the time my son thought the time was around, @ 3:30-4:30, they did not watch the entire tape! Why? Why wouldn't you be smart? Or are you hiding what this boy did to my son!?!? They are going off a 9 year olds time comprehension??? Really? My kids will never go back! In the beginning, they seemed like they were concerned. But then management called me back a few days later and said they looked @ the tape, the only thing they saw from 3:30-4:30 was the boy pushing my son over a basketball, So case closed. I tried telling her my son just doesn't get a red mark with bruises and blood vessels popped just because! She tried saying it was a hoola hoop. My son sticks to his word, we are out of child care and she didn't care one bit! After that phone call, I got no more follow up calls, it was over right then and there. The manager said that even if my son said it happened, they have completed their investigation. Not on my watch! My son was so scared to even tell me let alone show me! I have pictures and video of the staffs complete inability to just say they were wrong all to protect an image! I will continue to tell my sons account of what happened till I get answers! This place is unsafe, dangerous, unsupportive and takes zero accountability! Firstly, I want to see the entire tape! You should be ashamed of your employees, ashamed of your management and feel sick because this was to protect an image that is not what you so claim is what you produce that if this was any of your children, you would flip out and it would be handled differently and with more discipline! No one has been fired. They are continuing to promote this camp within the school district but they are using their power to bully, manipulate and take no responsibility for a pay check. read more

I would've given them one star if it were not for Mr. Rigo, who is the single member of Right at School who tries to do a good job. But, overall, my experience with them has been extremely poor. The members at Right at School are completely unqualified, even making a kid cry with rude comments such as "I don't know how to spell everyone's name, shut up" after mispronouncing a name. Mr. Jacobs specifically separates kids from each other at lunch for no other reason than to be spiteful. It's the only time when kids can chat to their friends. Giving this program two stars is actually quite generous but they deserve it because they are located inside the school and they do give the kids snacks. Let me tell you what I DON'T like about this program. My son's 2nd/3rd day into the program he was left behind in the halls. Luckily his teacher found him and brought him to the after school program. Another incident, the program called us because they did not know where my son was (as a parent this is the most devastating thing to hear) !!! They called back a few min later, turns out he was there all along and they just didnt recognize him ect ... I don't believe they have a roll call/attendance process which im baffled about. They should invest in name tags at least in cases where there is a sub ; they can easily identify the child. After this incident we immediately pulled him out. We could not risk a 3rd incident from occurring where they might lose my child FOR REAL. If you have other options go for them. This is not worth it plus its pretty pricey for just a few hours. read more

I love the Right At School program! They work very hard and I don't just feel like my son is just another number. I LOVE the fact that they practice accountability and safety when it comes to signing the students out. I am ALWAYS greeted from a staff member when I come to pick up my son. I love all of the staff but special mention to Miss Jennifer. She goes above and beyond her call of duty and always keeps me updated on my child's progress or lack there of and I can appreciate that. They're like extended teachers as I call them. I don't know their backgrounds but I know they care about those kids. I also love that after school is not always about playing. They have art, lessons and plenty of other activities for the students. I am happy we chose this program! read more

I hate to give them such a poor review but have had such an awful experience most recently. I had been using them thru the school year at my school which was alright, mostly because my partner is a teacher at the same school my kids are at and the program is, but could see the disorganization ongoing here and there. It wasn't until the summer camp was advertised that it turned into a complete nightmare. Paid in full, was not given any information or sent any info about details about the camp or what to bring. Started calling and trying to get information but could not get thru to any of the listed phone numbers online for couple weeks leading up. Showed up the first day of camp and no one was there at all. Called three different numbers on site with no answer, finally reached someone at the headquarters who had no idea what was going on, seemed like there is no organization on the local and even national level. Finally got a call couple hours later being told that the camp was cancelled, when I asked about speaking to the local people listed, was told that one was on a long leave and the other was no longer employed. Still waiting on a call from the regional manager, which they refused to give me their contact information, only told they would call me. Making sure my partner and I speak to our local school district to make it clear this sort of unorganized company should not be in our schools taking care of our children or be affiliated with our schools. If you are able to, even though knowing the limited options parents have these days for day care, please look for other alternatives before going this route. read more

The staff at Sauganash Elementary do a nice job, are engaged and know my child well. I think they provide a good structure for kids to do homework, keep them entertained (even inside when weather bad out). The staff will always speak with me about my child. Now let's talk about the website, it is not user friendly at all. My daughter had two accounts for her name and two accounts for my name. Now might I add that they don't send out your tax info. you have to try to access it thru the website. Now out of any one of those four accounts open on the website none of them had the tax info. available. So the next thing is to call but of course they make you feel like you are inconveniencing them by calling. Now let's get to the actually care that they give to your child. It a joke to say the least!!! Again customer service sucks!!! They never give you updates on how your kid is doing at all. They can't say hi or good day to you. Again they are inconvenienced by you dropping off or picking up your kid. They will change drop off process without even telling you. Change complete parking lots and which side of your school building you are to drop off at without even saying a word to you. They are very disorganized and do not take care of your kids. The site staff is friendly and well-meaning but the administration is a mess. They misplace kids (which sometimes the site staff catches and sometimes they do not) like sending kids home on the wrong bus or sending kids to empty homes when they should go to after care. The enrichment classes have poorly written curriculum that do not adhere to any meaningful standards. The materials for the classes and projects are frequently missing. The turnover on site is very high and much of the staff is unqualified. The CEO must be a smooth talker because they have expanded into 70 schools, but we will see how long that lasts. read more

While my kids have enjoyed the staff and it is very convenient to have them onsite at school, this is not well run, and communication with parents is terrible! They do not communicate with parents. Emails to site contacts go unreturned and they have deactivated and then changed the site number without ever telling parents. Once, there was a mix up and my son was not in the program. They left a voice mail on my home number (I was at work) saying my son had not "shown up." No attempt was made to call my or my husband's work or cell numbers or my emergency contact. If it had been a true problem, I would have found out 2 hours later, when I got home and listened to voice miail! Staff turnover is high. They have lost the copies of my children's birth certificate and health records and keep asking for more copies. The marketing is very good, and the CEO is a smooth talker. But this company does not deliver! And is not trustworthy for keeping kids properly supervised. read more

I am very happy with the Right at School program at Beaubien Elementary! My first grader is excited to show me what she's drawn or created at after-school and she has never complained about being bored. It has been great for her to meet kids in other classes and from older grades. The program is very well structured, with time for homework (yay!), time for snack, outdoor play time, and structured acitivites such as board games, art projects, and story creations. The staff have been easy to talk to, they are responsive to my calls, they are nice, calm, and professional. We had a different afterschool program at a private school last year which she complained about every day. What a difference this has been for us, I truly think it is worth every penny! read more

This will be my 2nd year of using Right At School for after school child care. Last year was the companies first year at Germantown HIlls, Il. Elem School. Although the local staff was great, the turn over in one year was very high. You never knew who would be watching your child from day to day. As with last year, the Admin office in Chicago is horrible. They can't answer basic questions such as: "Is your program available during the early dismissal hours the first week of school?" It is less than one week before school starts and they cannot even give me a contact number for the coordinator in my area. I had to call the school to get the name and number. The program Right at School in Sauganash Elementary school is great! They are friendly, nice, educated people who make my family happy. They do the homework with my kid, all the kids are organized and well disciplined during that time. Marisa as a site manager makes it all perfect. She is funny, organized, having people skills, understandable, sweet together with Elana, Liz etc. Right at school yearly party is just Awesome and I love my doughter being the part of this very nice program.
