It's pretty safe. We do it every time we go. The hardest part is swimming back against the current. But anyone who is a mildly decent swimmer can handle it. I'm no champion swimmer and I can swim it without any problems- my 9 year old did it too with a little help.

Several people were on their lunch break either eating or stretching their legs along the paths. I've never been to a park that has so many art sculptures throughout. They were all animals either as groups or solo and they were lovely. I took a lot of pictures of the sculptures. The sound of the falls from everywhere was so relaxing and peaceful. We strolled from one side to the other and spent a couple of hours just enjoying the scenery. I love days like that!
