Basically like a mini fried calzone and they were unreal. Definitely a must order. The gnocchi was incredible. So light it literally melted in your mouth, and the sauce alone was so good you could eat it by itself. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the food here. Everything we tried was amazing. Service was just as great. The hostess and our waiter were so kind, engaging, and gave excellent recommendations, including wine pairings. The restaurant itself has a cozy, authentic feel, like you're sitting in someone's Italian kitchen. If you can, try to sit outside. The views of the cliffs of Positano are absolutely stunning. Definitely make a reservation in advance. It's a popular spot and can be hard to get a table otherwise.

Having visited multiple places in Italy and Sicily the last time, this place stood out as one of the favorite spots on our trip. Of course we had to stop by again, and we were not disappointed. When in Sorrento, lemon pasta is a must, but I have the say that the true star was La Genovese pasta, which was recommended by our server. My husband still liked lemon pasta best, which means you really can't go wrong. Their bread was also delicious, particularly the white bread and the breadsticks, and they give you balsamic vinegar and olive oil for it. Considering most of the bread we had in Italy was surprisingly disappointing, it's exciting to eat somewhere that the food is good from start to finish. They also gave us one scoop of limoncello and one scoop of lemon gelato for dessert. Both were delicious, but my favorite was the lemon gelato. This is our second time back, and we would not hesitate to eat here again the next time we're in Sorrento. Servers were also friendly and helpful. The food does take a while, but that goes to show that it all is freshly made. This place is great whether it's for a casual dining experience or for date night. They also have free WiFi, just ask them for the info. I love that it's also a family establishment, and family members work at the restaurant. I'm already looking forward to my next visit here.

My wife had the bolognese, which was a bit bland. Complimentary bread is served with oil & balasamic. They had some type of a loud noise (generator?) going on & off most of the time we were there, which was an ambience killer. Service was adequate.

Busy place but worth the wait…read more Our Airbnb host recommended this restaurant for local food at reasonable prices. Apparently every other Airbnb host did the same because there was quite the line waiting to get inside. We waited about 20 minutes and the line moved quickly. Kudos to the staff who were excellent and interacted well with us both while in line an inside while eating. Everyone seemed so happy here. Once seated we ordered drinks and the stuffed zucchini appetizer. The complimentary bread was on target. Very good. One of us had lasagna, another had the fish, another had the Gorgonzola Ravioli and I had the Gorgonzola Gnocchi. I tried all the dishes and they were all yummy. Very well done and tasty. We shared the Lemon Surprise for dessert and it was sublime. So tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant but be prepared to wait in line for seating.

We passed the time chatting up those around us, and after about 45 minutes we were finally seated. The Mr. opted for lasagna and I got the scialatielli also scoglio (homemade pasta with seafood and tomato sauce) which was presented in a fun way. We concluded by sharing two desserts; the 'lemon delight' and the profiteroles. Service was friendly, prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious.

Something off the beaten trail sounds good, so off we go. 45 minutes, thousands of stairs, 500 vertical feet, and near exhaustion, we finally arrived at a dining sanctuary high in the hills. The views are breathtaking. We were seated at an open window with a slight breeze blowing. Fancy, Da Constano is not, but great food, tranquility and a zen feeling causes you to slow your breathing and relax. We started with a bountiful order of spaghetti bolognese with meat, carrots, celery and tomatoes. Just like "nonna made" and a helping size nonna would of served. The flavor was meaty, tasty and very hearty. A Margherita pizza was huge, tasty, perfectly sauced and enough to feed several people. The sauce was delicious and not overdone while the dough had a nice chew. It was a great replacement for the calories we burned on the way up. If you are in Positano and looking for quality meal, quiet, unbelievable views and great tastes, hike up the hill to the oasis in the hills, Da Constantino. It is 180 degree change from the beach side crew and well worth the hike. Thanks to the kind staff who called us a cab back to the masses. On Positano, this should be on your list for authentic Italian fare like nonna makes.

Forget Florence and Pisa and Montalcino and head south to where the coffee and bread are ten times better. This second story gem is down at sea level in the port of Pozzuoli, and I have eaten there about twenty times. Be advised: the menu is very, very limited. You can get a starter of octopus or a plate of olives. There are a couple of seafood pastas and risotto pescatore. Then you can get some fish or some fried calamari or shrimp. That's about it. But the guys who run the place are great, and I love to watch them interact with foreigners --- by which I mean anyone who lives more than ten miles away!! I first ate here in about 1986, and the young guy that was our waiter then was our waiter in April of this year, and one of the old cooks was still down in the kitchen. Don Antonio and his wife are long gone, but his son is still there every night it is open. I highly recommend this place for an adventurous eater, but don't go there and waste a table if you are wanting some sort of special fancy meal. This is where small groups of old friends go for good food in a simple setting.
