Lake Riffelsee is the place to visit while in Zermatt. People come here to photograph the water reflection of the famous Matterhorn mountain. You would have to get off at "Rotenboden" stop when you take the Gornergrat Bahn (The Matterhorn Railway). Personally, it seemed to be a difficult and scary to walk all the way down to the lake. There was some snow and wet dirt during the time I was there in October 2016. My cousin went all the way down and he said it was an OK walk.
