Smith's Chimney Service,…read more Regarding your response to my review. Why would you give me a 1 star review as a customer? Because I demand service? I paid you $2300 to install my fireplace insert. You came out 1 time because the chimney cap you installed fell off (see pictures). Then you came out 2 more times and pretty much accomplished nothing, other than ask my wife if the insert felt hotter, while she was dealing with 3 toddlers. I cannot believe you run a business. I'm so sick of this teenage pissing match. How is it possible you think I can't run a fire after 4 months? I was at a Napoleon dealer this weekend in Vineland. I won't mention their name, but they were happy to burn my wood in their stove that was running. We observed the burn and heat produced, and spoke for over an hour. They said there is absolutely nothing wrong with my wood whatsoever. They are totally confused on why you won't give me any customer service. This is such a horrible situation. I can't believe that a business owner can function this way. phil frecon

It's one…read moreof those things that keeps getting put off, but with the cold weather starting last month, I was getting a bit of an "icky" feeling about getting the thing swept NOW. We had to wait a week for an appointment, which to me meant that this is a popular, steady business and that it was the right one to call. On the day of the appointment, Mike arrived during the time frame promised and set right to work scrubbing and brushing. The whole operation took maybe 45 minutes to an hour, and he kept things very clean with the biggest, most impressive shop vac I'd ever seen. Once he'd finished up and put his tools away, I handed over a check for the previously agreed upon amount and that was it. Straightforward, efficient, no hidden fees...business the way it should be. Once the work was done, he became a bit chattier and I learned that a good rule of thumb to follow is to have the chimney swept after every cord of wood, and always burn hardwoods, so I guess we'll be seeing Mike every year, now. We'll definitely be calling him first.

I called a few other companies but they were available later in the or the next day. So I agreed for Adam's to come by knowing of their $120 feet.I had been doing some construction next to the emergency cut off switch & not realized I must had hit the switch. Adam's company saw the switch off when they came in and asked if I turned off the switch. They turned on the switch & everything was working again. They told me a lot of people turn it off not knowing. I was thankful that it wasn't any major. I wasn't happy that they charged me an additional $60 for labor. $180 for being at my house for less than 5 min. Then had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to clean my furnace for $412. I will NEVER use this company again. Straight greed!

Here's why: From the replacement of our heat pump in 2017 or 2018 (I can't remember), we have never had a job done that didn't require a follow up because of a mistake or an oversight in the service. Most recently, our heat pump wasn't switching back and forth from heat to cooling with the changing season. We called to get service. I was at work when the technician arrived, but he charged my wife over $100 to replace the air filter claiming that was the problem when we had mentioned in the initial call there was a problem with the compressor. It wasn't the air filter. The problem continued. On a return visit, I recreated the problem for the technician (incredibly nice guy, for what it's worth) and he came to the conclusion that a piece in the compressor needed some lubricant. The store to pick up that lubricant was closed, so he would pick some up and return another day. We never heard another word. So why three stars? My heart says this is a 2 star review. The guys do know what they are talking about, and, judging by other reviews, we seem to be an anomaly. It is why we continued to give them chance after chance for the past 5 years. I am tacking on that bonus star because the technicians that come out are incredibly nice and always answer my questions when I have them and I like that quality. Unfortunately life is getting just a little too busy to keep following up every time they come out and the job isn't complete, so we're going to look for someone who will get it right on the first try.
