YOU BREAK IT YOU BOUGHT IT, RIGHT?! WRONG! I recently visited the shop to show then a piece that they might be interested in purchasing for resale. He (I assume the owner) was interested and offered me a price and then asked if he could shoot it. Knowing that he is supposed to be a knowledgeable and seasoned professional, I had no reservations about handing it over for test shots as he had just made an accepted deal. This is an older piece, in factory condition, and has had less than one box of rounds through it. Alan returned the piece to me with the stock broken (cracked) and said 'I hope you don't think I have any responsibility for this'. Without offering to split the cost of the stock (or purchase it at cost, or anything), or remedy the situation, he said he was no longer interested in buying the piece and returned the broken piece to me before I walked out. When I returned home, I disassembled the piece to find that the inside of the gun was also damaged. To me (an untrained unprofessional), it looks like hot rounds were discharged from the piece causing several stress points, damage, and of course the most obvious - the cracked stock. A few test shots were discharged from this piece only 2 weeks ago with no issue. I thought this shop had a great reputation locally, but found out the hard way that they do not stand behind their skill and they are not to be trusted to hand over your possessions to... I walked in with a pristine piece worth over $600, and walked out with a pile of garbage that now has to be serviced by a professional... COSTING me money, time, and aggravation. I don't suggest shopping with these guys unless you want to get ripped off. If I had let a dealership test drive my car before purchasing it, and they returned it crashed and dented... THEY WOULD be responsible for the damage - should it be me paying for these repairs or the business' insurance company that should reimburse me for the damage done to my firearm by their employee at their shop? Very disappointed. This 'free appraisal' is going to cost me hundreds of dollars. They did not even offer to facilitate the repairs - I am completely baffled, and my jaw is on the floor... how do you stay in business like this? read more
