They are pleasant, witty, kind and patient. They are also challenging when it is appropriate. Justin, the first person you meet, keeps the schedules organized and works to adjust the schedule to meet your needs. Heather is particularly adept at adjusting exercises to meet your needs. I am about 10 weeks out since starting PT and the surgeon has now confirmed I can pass on the surgery due to the success of the PT work. I have gone to the larger corporate PT's in the past and they are younger inexperienced PT's. And once your allotted time is up, your appointment is finished. I have had numerous appointments where my time went over and Chrissy was taking the time to discuss or show me a helpful exercise for my home exercise. And when she did my original assessment, she took a lot of time to evaluate, ask me questions and it was a free evaluation! I can't say enough good things about Chrissy and the work she does. I found her through a search for Graston Technique and Active Release Therapies. She is certified in both, and utilizes them to great benefit in her practice. I have suffered from cervical spine tightness, a knot of the ages near the top of my neck for about a decade due to computer work, poor posture and the ravages of time, but she has been the first practitioner who has had any impact on me. In only four sessions, I'm already feeling relief, and feel almost younger for lack of a better term, due to the greater range of motion and reduction in pain. Graston Technique involves using specialized tools to break up adhesions and the ART is like a deep tissue massage with coordinated stretching coordinated. There seems to be a synergistic benefit in applying these interventions. Dr. Oatmen also does some electric stimulation, adjustments (if you want, I get a simple one for my neck, but she mentioned that not all her clients want to get adjusted, some want more, some less), and cold laser therapy. Overall, her demeanor is professional and efficient, and the sessions are scheduled conveniently. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Don't go here if you have a complex condition, like hEDS or another hypermobility condition. At…read morethe time (this was over a year ago) I came in not yet diagnosed as hEDS, but made them aware that I was in the process and the issues I was having. My script was for whole spine PT. The person they gave me really seemed not to know what to do with that, and it seemed clear very quickly that she didn't want to deal with me. She was verbally abusive to me when I said I couldn't do certain exercises (I couldn't) or was having trouble with them. She seemed irritated or something that she couldn't just give me exercises and go. I often was overseen by a tech or another PT, the latter often giving me helpful tips bc they could see I was struggling. She didn't remember I had no at-home exercises (which I thought was weird - that I had none), and when she asked me if I was doing them, I looked at her like - what? It took several sessions before I asked where to get the stretchy bands and she goes "oh, we sell them here." Why would you not say that in the first place? I kept debating whether to just leave, but thought I'd "tough it out." Never again. The last straw was when she put me on a leg press or something and tried to start me at 50lbs. After I was still struggling with the other exercises. I said I could not do 50 lbs., and she berated me. But i did get less than that. After one day doing the press and something else new, I honestly could not move. I spent the day laying on the couch bc my back was rigid. I never went back. I cancelled my next appointment, and then got a call the day I was supposed to go wondering where I was. Wish I'd cancelled sooner.
