My dealing with the office was a wonderful experience. I dealt with Britney and she was on the money she promised things and she kept her promise she called she emailed she did her job she was on top of everything and I appreciate that in case I want to reapply to this complex but my experience with the office was a wonderful experience Thank you Ridge at Blue Hill . DO NOT SIGN A LEASE WITH THIS PLACE! IF YOU WERE LOOKING FOR A SIGN, THIS IS IT! Many other great complexes in the area, this place is not it! Signing a lease with them is singing your soul away. You will regret tit!! Please don't make the same mistake as us! We were promised the world before moving in. We finally got out after 2 years and could not be happier, even though we left with many "hidden fees". Somethings we experienced: - they showed us a different apartment before signing the lease and provided us with a moldy apartment with cabinets falling apart, walls not painted, broken faucets, amongst other things. We should've turned around and walked away right there, but we were tragically optimistic (as you probably are while looking into this place) - everything is constantly breaking, EVERYTHING in the apartment - elevator not working for a week and being ignored by the office - 2 weeks in our kitchen ceiling caved in and flooded our kitchen. I was 38 weeks pregnant and it took them days to figure it out. Not fun - they trick you into remaining in your lease! Even if your lease is over, unless you have a 60 day notice, you have to play a "2 rent fee" - they are very predatory - they accidentally filed our family for an eviction when we had no open balance with them - the walls are made out of cardboard paper, you will hear your neighbors flushing the toilet We went through many other things in those 2 years, for the amount you'll pay, you can find a better place with integrity and less predatory! read more

Been here about 3 months. Very happy with apartment home. They are spacious, clean, updated amenities and quiet with exception of New Years but hey they get a pass for that. Price is reasonable for proximity to Boston. Packages, especially during covid always make it to me. Office staff especially Amanda are outgoing and responsive. They go above and beyond especially as I work later into the night. Maintenance is prompt and polite. They have done good job enforcing the covid protocols so I feel safe here. Would definitely recommend. I haven't been able to take advantage of pool or other amenities outdoor due to winter so looking forward to that. I think most importantly I'm comfortable here especially while working from home. Thanks!!! PS I'm surprised at the bad reviews although that's the internet for you. I've had zero issues and as for the price. Look at close you are to Boston. You'd be paying 4K for same place. I have no axe to grind and waited 3 months to write a review because you just never know. My heat wasn't working on a Sunday the first night I moved in and they brought me a heater. I want to warn everyone who is considering renting an apartment here to read all the negative reviews first. Do yourself a favor and consider all the negatives to AVOID BEING A VICTIM OF THEIR PREDATORY AND MANIPULATIVE MANAGEMENT I wish I had trusted them and never came to this place for so many reasons: 1. The apartments are not as nice as they may seem at first - the vinyl flooring wasn't well aligned and dust was coming through the slats when you'd just walk on it, cabinets were already molding when we moved in. I called their resident services several times and they would come, look at stuff, promise they would send contractors but those would never come to fix those issues. It got to the point where 2 months before the move-out date they just told me they would fix everything AFTER I move out but then... 2. They charged me for remodeling the apartment after the move-out! Not because I did any damage, but because they have just finally decided to fix the issues that were there prior in the first place but now, they have made me responsible for them. 3. Because they're remodeling older units now (which I happened to live in one of these), they have also charged me for new countertop and cabinets, lying that there was damage to it when I have A VIDEO PROOF that CLEARLY shows THERE IS NO DAMAGE to the countertop and cabinets other than the normal tear. They are just remodeling all the apartments now and making me pay for something that is clearly not my responsibility. It is so ridiculous. I WISH I COULD ATTACH A VIDEO TO THIS REVIEW BECAUSE IT'D SHOW YOU HOW CLEAN AND WELL-MANAGED I KEPT THE APARTMENT AND THAT CLEARLY THERE WASN'T ANY DAMAGE DONE TO THE COUNTERTOPS THAT THEY'RE CLAIMING. 4. Beware, if you want to move out early (and you'll want to!) you'll have to pay two months of rent extra just for that. Even if you give a 60-day early notice you will still pay an extra two months. If you get to the point where you want to sign a lease with them, read it VERY CAREFULLY because it's full of traps like this! 5. They have a team of attorneys and lawyers because it's a corporate place and they know they have the power. It's hard to fight the injustice they have done to so many other residents I know as well. Just stay away from this place. I could go on and on but this review has a character limit. Consider all of the above and think if it's worth living there knowing they might throw so much trouble your way. Pretty place nice apartments , I've been here 2 years in 3 months I would have liked to renew my lease BUT unfortunately I don't have money to burn ! The water and sewer is over 100.00 dollars a month !!!!! I live alone !!! HELLO..... There's something wrong they have a separate water service other than Braintree water , and I guess they charge whatever they feel . There on there 3rd manager . And the last one Adam was transfered ,he told me that other tenants were having problems with there water bills also , paying up to 300.00 dollars a month . That the problem was with the water meters on the outside of the bldgs . But numerous calls to both "AUM " there water resource co. And Ridge NOTHING JUST PAY YOUR BILL OR BE EVICTED !!! Recently moved in and found out the air conditioning doesn't work. Submitted a few maintenance requests to get it fixed. It was determined that the condenser was no good and needed to be replaced. So i waited a few weeks and no word back. Apparently they said they decided they will replace it next year. Remind you, i just moved into this place this month. Do yourself a favor and inspect everything before you move in because when it comes to repairs they will do it when it appeases them, not you. read more

I have lived in several apartments in my life, and this is the first complex that has inspired me to write a review. The location is good, the complex is clean and well kept, the grounds are beautiful, the pool is clean and inviting, there is plenty parking, and they are truly pet-friendly. There is even a small dog play area. And almost every other resident that I have come across has been friendly and particularly "neighborly". Plus there is the unbelievable access to a movie theater, central kitchen with coffee and tea, and a main club house that can be used for receptions, etc. It's like a small city rolled into one complete, almost perfect apartment community. But the most important part to me is the people that run and maintain the complex, because they are like the mayor, the city council and the city services for a miniature town. If the people responsible for the community life of the complex are lacking in personality and respect, the tenants can hate their living experience. There is a particular human characteristic that only certain people have: the ability to be cheerful, helpful, and to be always positive. Every person that I have interacted with at the property has been that kind of person. In particular DeAnna and Mike, who handle sales/office and maintenance respectively. Always a smile and a cheery greeting from DeAnna and a very friendly and respectful approach from Mike. I moved here after a very traumatic few months in my personal life, and their kindness and positiveness have been cathartic and healing for me. You can have the finest property in the land and it still is difficult living there if the wrong kind of people run the place. In the case of Ridge at Blue Hills, it has all of the characteristics that I want in an apartment community; but what really makes it home for me is the confidence and trust in the people that make the living experience the best it can be. I've lived at Ridge for almost 5 months now (in Building 1). It is a great place to live. All the neighbors I've interacted with have been friendly and no real complaints. The Leasing staff is also friendly and helpful. Maintenance is exceptional and have addressed any issue I've had in a timely manner. The only thing I would change about the community is to upgrade the gym, but it does currently have anything you really need cardio and free weight wise. Very pet friendly. I will definitely consider renewing my lease here in the future. read more

I've toured Ridge at Blue Hills before, but let me tell you, I've had two different experiences. I worked with someone before(someone who I shall not name) and then I worked with Corin. Corin is the definition of a great leasing consultant. I've worked in sales many many years, and she met all my expectations. She paid very close attention to my needs, and I actually felt like she cared. She is so positive, and honestly just a breath of fresh air. I felt so comfortable. This place has taken a 180! This is the worst apartment I have ever lived in. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. They nickel and dime you on everything, they overcharge for utilities, and when you move out they hold back portions of your deposit regardless if you did everything right. I moved out and gave 60 days notice (which is ridiculous in itself) they then said that the day I gave notice didn't count and the last day of my lease didn't count. They then charged for 2 additional days of rent to reduce my deposit payment to me. The management at this facility is terrible, there is turnover in the management at a blistering rate, and they are rude and unprofessional. The entire place is under constant renovation (to the outside) which makes everything from parking to enjoying a peaceful day in your apartment nearly impossible. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to live. RUN AWAY! The management company UDR is a publicly traded slum lord company and due to their size it is impossible to remedy any issue with payment or abuse. Do not rent here. My lease is almost done, when they sent the lease renewal all of the lease options were more expensive than I pay now. I replied to the offer and asked that it be lowered, especially given the crisis with corona virus and the possibility that I may not be financially sound. They replied with no regard for what I'd said and simply said, the rent will not be lowered. So, I decided I'm done. The more I thought about it, the better I felt about having to move. When I moved in here I filled out the new renter form: on there I requested for light bulbs to be replaced and for my refrigerator to be fixed (as it was leaking). Neither of those things were ever fixed. My kitchen is so dark because the bulbs haven't been replaced and now I just don't care, I want to just get out of here. And every morning I was up to a huge puddle in the middle of my kitchen, coming from the fridge....super annoying but again, at this point I just want to leave. This place is also very loud during overnight hours. I have neighbors fighting very very loudly. Some neighbors have parties in the parking lot till 2 or 3 AM, playing music, racing motorcycles and drinking. I've called the Braintree police several times. I love animals, but there is dog poop everywhere! Also, it advertises a smoke free place but people smoke all of the time. I watch two of the people across from my apartment smoke almost every evening. I've found used matches inside my building and it smell like an ashtray. Lastly, the elevator is broken quite often. Which is super annoying when you've done grocery shopping or have lots of stuff to carry. I live on the top floor and broke my foot a few months ago. The elevator was broken for about 2 weeks and I live alone. My walk up the stairs with grocery bags, a cast and crutches were painful and super time consuming! I work with a lot of co-op students who travel from canton to Boston weekly, this seems like an ideal spot but it sucks. Don't move in here! read more

I don't know what is wrong with the floors, every time you walk some kind of dust comes up from the floor because it is awfully aligned. We are having problem with every single door in our apartment. Some of them are SO NOISY, some doors you need push really hard to make sure its closed We got problems with microwave, oven, stove We requested a help to fix the problem The maintenance guy showed up several times Said ill be right back for the parts And never came back. We requested again He showed up, was kind of fixing. And guess what??? Nothing got fixed! The management is a different story -- the most unprofessional and rude staff i have ever meet 1) the office is always closed 2) no one ever answers the phone 3) Even when you have to set up an appointment with them, they either late or not showing up at all. It happened with me twice. Some of us are having a hard time who's job get effected by Covid 19. I am unfortunately one of them. And when you're late 2 business days with the payment your first warning right there under the door. And its funny but all my friends living in different complexes ( Avalon, Hub 25, Greenhouse, Eaves Quincy, Rosecliff apartments) they don't have any evictions during the time of pandemic. Well the UDR at Ridge left us an eviction notice right the next day when the state moratorium was lifted, while the federal is still in place. We let them know we're working on getting financial assistance and just need a few more weeks while the application is pending, and they still submitted the eviction notice. Even though in their emails they stated that no actions will be taken. For what we have to pay, this place CERTAINLY DOES NOT MEET EXPECTATIONS IN The management is very PREDATORY and UNETHICAL. They lie, their words are not aligned with their actions. During the time of pandemic, they are trying to rip off people. So its your choice to move in and just sharing my experience And last by not least Leaving right next to Cemetery I guess not the best thing Specially when almost every day you stuck in the traffic because huge lane of vehicles getting in or getting out from the cemetery read more

DO NOT MOVE here ! I moved into a one bedroom here in December the first week my apartment flooded at 4 am. I called the office for maintenance when they finally came it was too late they had to re renovate my apartment. The ridge would not put me in a hotel for the week while they renovated they let me and my daughter sleep there and gave me a $400 credit this is supposed to be luxury living it is not at all ! After living in my one bedroom I transferred to a 2 bedroom instead of breaking my lease and moving I choose the newly renovated apartment for more money. I was told it was beautiful and I could not look at it due to someone still in there. On the day of my move I was told it wasn't ready I'd have to wait another day I had to change my movers loose money everything the next day I move in they only gave me a few hours to move in they gave me my key at 5pm and never ever renovated my apartment I have complained about how gross disgusting this place is they came in took my cabinets and never replaced them I've been here a month almost all I've been given is a shower head nothing has been newly renovated it's a worse apartment than the one I had they have been telling me for a month they would come renovate and have not this place is the biggest front your better off moving to skyline in Braintree before this place I wish I never did I am paying over 3,000 a month for this shitty apartment with nothing not even proper ac and it's middle of summer. Who ever owns this property need to do a better job and stop robbing people. DO NOT MOVE here read more

You should really look at other options if you have any choice. Rule changes happen with almost no notice or explanation, and they'll nickle and dime you to death. The property is going non-smoking, but I hope you like the smell of pot. That is apparently just fine. They are implementing new parking rules for guests so guests have to pay $3 to come visit you, get a parking voucher, and hope they put it in the right location so their car doesn't get towed. This is on top of them no longer offering an unpaid spot for the first car for tenants. If the building was anywhere near a T stop I guess I could understand, but it's in the middle of nowhere so you have to drive if you live here. Management doesn't return emails, doesn't give updates on projects, and will enter your apartment without asking permission or even telling you they will be coming inside. You have to ask if someone was in your home when you notice something out of place. I would honestly wonder if the rental agency was in dire straights for money if it weren't for them repainting and carpeting the entire place. I hope you like the smell of carpet glue as it wafts into your apartment. read more

I've been living in my apartment since late April and it is now October. The apartment is hella nice, well worth the rent. The location is very convenient and the staff is very nice. Any small issues I've had with the apartment have been dealt with quickly and efficiently. Any complaints I might have about living here are strictly the same ones you'd get with any complex. As far as the apartment and staff. They are both excellent. I never had any trouble getting maintenance to arrive same day or next day to fix anything and the apartment itself was pretty nice! There was constantly dog waste in the hallways that i had to dodge and the stairwells smell of something dead. My biggest problem lies with their management. Perhaps this is some of my ignorance, but in the lease agreement the tenant must give the apartment complex 60 days notice before they intend to move out. I was never told this when i signed my lease or when the management contacted me asking if i was renewing. We were in the process of buying a home and we didnt get finances approved until 15 days before our lease was due to be up so we could not supply the management their 60 days as we were unsure if we would need a place to live had our finances not gone through. Because we were not able to give our notice until halfway through our last month we are forced to stay here beyond our original lease agreement. That extra 45 days we have to pay their month to month prices. Which is rent +$1000. THIS IS ABSURD. I was not reminded of this 60 day thing at point of signing the lease or the point where they reached out to me.. this is incredibly shady to me and has left an incredibly sour taste in my mouth. Especially since i enjoyed living here for 11 out of the 12 months of my lease. I have heard that this is a pretty common issue that tenants face so this isnt the first time this happened. They want this to happen. I feel like i have been completely used and screwed over. II DO NOT recommend living here. If you do decide to move in. READ everything and anything they have you sign so you can avoid the issues i have had here. read more

I loved this apartment. The staff were friendly, accommodating and gave excellent advice after we moved from Iowa. We lived here for a year and had our rent it increased so much we would have stayed all four years while my husband was in school. The commute into Boston was difficult sometimes but you felt like you were in a luxury log cabin oasis. The woods smelled great and it was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of The town but close enough to walk or bike into it. I highly recommend The Ridge at Blue Hills. The only downside is the first year rental price will likely not remain that the following year as they try to get people in on deals but it then shoots up significantly the next year. read more

We started our lease at 1682.00 for one bedroom and after the year lease was up they increased rent to $2016.00 without notice. The front desk staff is horrible and rude. My husband signed a lease here after we relocated from a different state and while I'm not here all the time (due to travel), I do have to say overall this is one of the best places we've lived. After selling our home and "re-transitioning" into apartment living, we were REALLY skeptical, but I'm shocked how easy it's been. We had a few miscommunication hiccups in the beginning, but I think we got really lucky we found the Ridge. The grounds are always kept very nice and the building we live in is so quiet. Upstairs can be a little loud at times, but that's to be expected in an apartment. The only downside I think we have is that there are most definitely section 8 apartments here. I know every complex has them, which I think is a legal requirement (maybe), but with that, comes people who don't respect the property as much as those of us who are paying 2,600 to live here. This is certainly not the leasing office's fault, it is what it is. Our cars have really taken a beating from scratches and door dings so we try to park further out which can get tricky in the winter time. Maintenance has always been pretty on top of things and the office staff are always very friendly and helpful. I'm shocked at the negative reviews. Try renting an apartment in Texas - you won't get service like you get here! Kudos to the Ridge, so far, it's been pretty stellar. read more

My Audi Q5 was keyed on the driver side, passenger side and hood while parked in my paid parking spot. Braintree police was notified and took a report but not much could be done without any security cameras. Management has not been cooperate with implementing immediate safety measures to prevent incidents like this from occurring again. The safety of their residents or their property apparently is NOT on the top of their list. That day I also learned there has been several incidences with the stealing of vehicle tires and rims within this community. Why security cameras have yet to be installed is very appalling to me and I'm sure to many of you. Before you run to move into this community I'd do my research. read more

I have lived at the Ridge at Blue Hills for nearly seven years. That's a long time and that qualifies me, I'd say, to give a thorough review of the property. The apartments themselves are fine. The problem I have is with the ever-changing management. We've been at least 5 full changes in personnel in the years I've lived here. This creates conflict because one property manager will provide a concession and the successor will not acknowledge it. Parking has become tough because in some cases, there are four adults with four cars living in a two bedroom unit. Now they encourage people to pay for a reserved spot rather than limiting the number of vehicles per apartment. Tons of dogs on the property and irresponsible dog owners have led to grounds that a littered with animal feces. Overall, as I said above, it's fine, not spectacular as it was when I moved in. I've stayed because I haven't wanted the hassle of finding a new place...until now. The rents are astronomical; the service is not. read more

I sold my house in Braintree very quickly and needed a place to rent that would allow a dog, and that was not an easy task. Most apartments will take cats, but not dogs, so I was very limited on options. But I am very happy with how it all turned out. The Ridge is super convenient to 128 and to 93 and route 3. Since I have been living here I have only had one problem with my garbage disposal and it was taken care of within a day of contacting the office. I enjoyed using the pool when it was open and it was always clean and there was plenty of chairs during the week and weekends. I love having the fitness center on property with the extended hours and also having the computers and printers on site have been very helpful. One of the nicest things about living at the Ridge is the staff and how they keep us informed and updated with everything from available garages to packages. I am not sure how many units there are, but it is very impressive that both Kelly and Adam always say hi and remember my name.
