I was a customer of this service for several years. There was some turnover in staff and I've not received the same service. Twice this year the technician showed up at my house without my confirmation that someone would be home. The office claims they could see that he did make a call to me, but I have NO missed calls. The first time my husband just happened to be home.....great. The second time I come home to a note on my front door saying there was only service to the outside of my home. There couldn't have been service to the most part of the outside of my home since there is an 8 ft privacy fence with two dogs for over half my property. I know....technologies are not infallible but at the very least the company should confirm via text or a "warm body" call that someone would be home. I called the office to voice concerns after the second time this happened but no offer of sending someone back out or offering a reduced fee for the quarter was made. I got another notice in the mail last week for payment. I will make this payment but their services are no longer needed for me in Carrollton. read more

I do not typically take the time to post reviews, but today I had to make an exception. I called to speak with whomever necessary to inquire as to why we were still receiving visits, as we are new homeowners who do not have a contract with Rider. The previous owner contracted with them, and their services were to continue until the end of that contract, per our closing requirements. After that timeframe has ended, we have now received bills - 2 of them, ($300 each) addressed to my husband for "continued services" we did not need, wish for, or ask to renew. I initially was just simply trying to question why they were continuing to come, convey that these visits were no longer necessary, and attempted to inquire about the bill's we've received; when the she INSTANTLY became shockingly combative, raised her voice to speak over me, completely interrupting me and cutting me off. She immediately became incredibly RUDE, instigatingly argumentative, unwilling to hear my concerns, and literally berated me. Speaking to me in a sarcastic, condescending, rude, patronizing voice; calling me "sweetheart" and "hun" in the most intentionally disrespectful tone of voice, before hanging up on me. I was immediately shocked, and have never been treated so poorly by any establishment. I called back asking to speak to a manager this time, when she informed me that SHE was in fact the manager?! This is NOT how you handle customer service and is the worst example of "professionalism" I've ever seen. Having worked in customer service all my life, I am offended that people like this are given a position/title/and platform to set this type of example for the rest of the staff, while treating the public so horribly. She even confirmed that no contract by us has ever been signed or sent back to them, yet still literally wanted to ARGUE with me as to why we were continuously being billed?? Now after reading the other reviews, it seems the majority of any good reviews have been written by friends or family of the business owner, and the few that are of actual customers have all experienced the same negative experience. It seems this normal behavior for this woman/manager to handle business this way?? How is she still working there and not fired??! She certainly deserves to be, and shouldn't be allowed to speak to the public or represent any company whatsoever. She has even gone to the extent to remove negative comments or reviews on the Rider website (this one twice), which is completely deceptive and basically LYING to the public. So please, any and all who have the opportunity to read this review before I'm sure she removes it as well, take my advice and STAY AWAY. There are plenty of other truly reputable pest control services out there, and if we find ourselves in the need, we'll call ANYONE BUT RIDER. EDIT TO ADD: The gentlemen that have been the ones to come to our property and conduct these "checks" have always been very nice. I honestly feel for them for having to lose what could be potential contracts due to the lack of professionalism displayed by Ms. Angela. You were here today to have a look at my roaches. As I promised, I am sending you a resume of what you did and what we talked about you doing. 1. You did the inside treatment for the roaches. The outside treatment you were going to leave until better weather. We agreed that it would probably be in the first week of January. 2. I also wanted you to have a look at the crawl spaces under the house, for powder post beetles and excessive moisture and mold. a. We might need some moisture barriers in the craw spaces b. THE WORST!!! I paid for a termite inspection for a house I purchased. They have zero integrity and never checked in the crawl space...just wrote a report stating the house has NO signs of termite activity active or otherwise. Gave the previous owner a pass...now they don't need to pay for corrective measures for the multiple signs of termite infestation in my home found by an actual pest control company. I called Early Bird Termite and Pest Control to do preventative just to find out Rider Pest Control RIPPED me off. They let the previous homeowner walk away now the termite treatment is my expense. I contacted Rider. The receptionist (Rude 1) immediately lies and tells me the inspection letter they provided for $75 was good for one month. I pointed out the 90 days and the one year language on their letter and emailed the owner pictures of the termite activity in my crawl space, left my phone number for her to call me and did not receive a call back until late in the day after I email her again that I have the estimate $1160 to correct to termite infestation and that I'm having a reputable company provide the remedy since Rider already lied and basically stole money from me. The owner Betty was so rude on the phone. She was loud and unapologetic for the lack of honest service. She hung up on me after informing me I'd get $75 worth of corrective action from Rider to protect my home from termites. That was it. They lied, let the previous owner walk away without treating the house and I'm supposed to just get over it and let THEM come do "minimum treatment" after they have revealed themselves as being dishonest crooks. The worst and rude...the owner acted like I just tried to steal from her and not the other way around. Do not use this company! I retired from the US Air Force and bought my retirement home here in GA... I pray this is not an example of the best of GA businesses. What is wrong with having a little integrity? Earn what you get. Stealing from folks will only cost you more in the long run. Seriously terrible attitudes and horrible service from the owner to employees. Beware! read more
