Took the tamales home and was digging into them within 10 minutes. I would definitely say they are above average. They tasted fresh and not grainy....but a little light on the flavor. The sauce that came with the tamales definitely helps and kicks the flavor up a notch. On that front, I would recommend getting at least a sauce per tamale ordered since the sauce container is so tiny. I ran out of the sauce before I even finished the first one! While my search for the best tamale around is not over, I would definitely order from Tamale Queen again the next time I run into them!

It was hard to find one that was open after I got off work. I would have probably never gone to this place except that it was one of the only options for my assignment, but I will recommend it to others who like to support local businesses and need a quick bite.
