I absolutely see a pattern here! They have violated the No Surprises Act of 2020 for out of network billing. My entire family was seen at their office. I was never given an estimate of what my charges would be up front as I stated I was out of network. I should have been given a Good Faith estimate. I was not. When I left, I paid in full. Then they filed to my insurance and charged one of my children as an adult at age 13 when I clearly spoke to my insurance representative and they stated my child is not considered an adult until the age of 14! Then 6 months later they come after me for another $200+ after the fact and the fact that when I left my original visit I walked out with a receipt stating I had paid in full!!! When I spoke to the office manager who just apparently became the office manager and has no knowledge of my situation as she was not at the practice at the time of my original visit. The only thing she did was give me excuses as to why they dropped the ball and billed wrongly!! Yes she admitted they did wrong!!!! She never once offered to fix anything or compromise in any way at all whatsoever!!!! In fact she stated they were turning me over to collections!!! For a debt I do not owe and violates law!!! Go right ahead!!! Some managerial skills!!! This is a lawsuit in the works!! You can not violate laws enacted by our government and continue shady billing practices!!!! Know your insurance and your rights if you expect to be seen here which I absolutely would not recommend at all whatsoever!!!!!

He gained my disabled son's confidence quickly and somehow knew just how to approach extensive repairs on his teeth. The root canal and crown I got a few weeks ago were as easy as those procedures can be. We are extremely satisfied, and I am so relieved that we made the right choice when we chose Dr. Marz. We will go back in August for cleanings.

    By far the best dental office I have ever visited…read more EVERYONE at this office is amazing. They are friendly, professional and it is obvious that they actually care about you. I am having some pretty extensive work done (to me at least) and they are up front and honest about every step in the process. They make sure that I understand everything that is going to happen and that all of my questions are answered. After my first extensive visit I received 2 phone calls to make sure everything was OK the following day. One from the office manager and another from the dentist herself. I put a lot of emphasis on customer service so believe me when I say that they get it. They also control the pain level and ask you often if you are comfortable. If not, they will stop and make sure that you are comfortable before continuing. You never feel rushed or as if you are just a number. What more can you want from a dentist. I have already recommended this dentist to friends and will continue to do so.

Unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of frustrating due to their disorganized scheduling and lack of accountability. I initially scheduled an appointment with their office on March 10. That same day, I received a text message instructing me to call and confirm my appointment for March 27, which I did. Later that day, I received another text stating that an appointment had been scheduled for September--an appointment I never made. Since no one from the office called to clarify or confirm this unexpected change, I assumed it was an error and thought nothing of it. Fast forward to March 27: Upon arriving at the office, I was initially greeted warmly by the staff. However, when I provided my name and appointment details, they were unable to find my appointment. After some confusion, they admitted that a staff member had mistakenly scheduled me in the wrong slot. I showed them my confirmation text and proof of my call to schedule, yet instead of making an effort to rectify the situation, they simply stated that they had sent me a text message--implying that I should have noticed their mistake on my own. I reiterated that I had already confirmed my appointment both via text and over the phone, and at no point was I contacted about any changes. One of the front desk staff finally admitted, "Well, we dropped the ball on that one." However, despite acknowledging their mistake, there was no attempt to accommodate me or correct the issue. Worse yet, there was no apology--only a condescending smile and a nod, as if waiting for me to leave. Frustrated by their indifference, I canceled the September appointment, which, again, I had never scheduled nor been formally notified about. Howard Family Dental has proven to be unprofessional and disrespectful of their patients' time. Based on my experience--and the numerous other negative reviews--I strongly recommend seeking dental care elsewhere in Statesboro. The lack of accountability and poor customer service simply aren't worth the hassle.
