I gave them 5 stars, but I did not do it lightly. I called 5 tree services for an estimate on removal of six trees all over 30 feet, with one being a monster pine close to 50 feet tall. Four companies called back, only three showed up to give an estimate. Rick's Expert was the first to respond and the only one who gave an estimate in writing. Rick's Expert tree Service was the middle price, but I liked the fact that they were the quickest to respond and gave the estimate in writing. I called them and asked for a little wiggle on what they would do for the services/prices they wrote up. They said they could accommodate me as long as the equipment could get into the area to do the job. They had a cancellation on a Friday morning and sent me a text that they would be out to clear the trees. I figured that I would come home and find them still working. I got home at 3:30 and they were done and already gone. So, I went about ordering some stump killer and was planning on drilling and chopping up a spongey stump in a few months. However, I was puzzled that I had not yet received a bill. I gleefully, sent out a check today for full payment in advance of getting a bill based on the estimate price. You can imagine my surprise when I got home from work today and found all of the stumps ground to mulch! Rick's Expert Tree Service has a customer for life. They far exceeded any reasonable expectation. They were fast, efficient and dead simple to deal with. There was no up-sell tactics, a no nonsense estimate and no problems. Wow. Just wow! Wish I could do 10 stars! Rick's came out today to remove two very large trees from our property. We were told to expect the crew to start arriving around 7:30a. A few guys were there early, by 7:15a. As they were waiting for the rest of the crew they played some basketball, laughing, having a good time. They were interacting with my son thru a window and making him laugh. I love that. Not robots, not miserable, seeming to love their job. We also had some random limbs and branches off to the side that my husband had trimmed from another tree recently, we just hadn't gotten to cutting them up and throwing them in the fire pit yet. Rick's to the rescue! Without even asking, they took care of those by throwing them in their chipper! So appreciative. They had both giant trees down by noon, without incident AND (you won't even believe this) THEY SKIMMED OUR POOL after they were done with the one tree which left a mess in the pool!!! Again, without us even asking. Truly amazing customer service. Quick turn around considering the size of the trees. I am over the moon impressed with this company. My first time buying firewood I was encouraged to spend a little more than whats offered on CL or a lawn sign and buy from a company that has a reputation at stake. I read a few online reviews and chose Rick's which also tacked on a delivery charge. Rick's has awesome firewood, perfectly seasoned and all hardwood, not a log of pine or poplar in the entire cord. I made the mistake of buying my next cord from a not so reputable landscaping company and spent an entire afternoon splitting and stacking some huge and mostly unseasoned pieces of wood which included several punky logs and pieces of pine. Worst mistake ever, I saved $30 but gave myself a ton more work and can't burn most of it until next year. With Rick's all I did was stack it in my wood shed. Don't make the mistake I did, buy from Rick's and buy early. Next year I'll be ordering all of my wood from Rick's at one time to alleviate the headache and know I'm burning good quality seasoned wood. I'll likely be using them to take down a huge pine just because I'm so happy with the firewood. Firewood is a dirty business, but not with Rick's. read more

Rick's Expert Tree Service did a FABULOUS job removing an enormous 120+ foot tree from a very difficult location in my back yard. I can't say enough about the entire crew. John, Mark & their crew worked in extreme heat & humidity & when finished you would never know a tree was removed. The tree & all it's debris were gone. The tree was located in a very difficult spot, but John & Mark were able to maneuver their large vehicles & crane right into position without any damage to surrounding buildings or landscaping. I was extremely impressed with their professionalism & work ethic. It took several months to get scheduled due to the surrounding grounds needing to be dry to withstand the weight of the heavy equipment. It was well worth the wait. I highly recommend Rick's Expert Tree Service. At first, the scheduling was a little hit or miss because of the extreme weather we were having, resulting in their heavy workload. But it was well worth the wait. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. They took down a tree in a hard-to-reach spot. The crew worked so quickly. I was amazed. And they went well above and beyond with the clean-up. I was so appreciative. When they had to come back to complete the job, grinding the tree stump, they had to take down portions of our chain link fence in two areas in order to get the stump grinder onto the property. I was initially worried when I saw this going on. But, again, the crew was amazing. You would never even know they were on the property at all, except for the remaining mulch. I have used Rick's Tree Service for many years. They recently took down two large dead trees that were in difficult-to-reach areas, removed many large dead branches from high up in a large oak tree and a very tall hemlock and cleared a giant brush pile. As always, the work was done professionally with an excellent outcome, and without a trace of harm. In years past they removed two massive beech trees over 150 years old (very sad), grinding the giant stumps below ground level, and did many other various jobs for us. It is always the lowest price when we do comparisons and the work is top rate. They seem capable of doing any job no matter how large. I noticed a complaint about collateral damage in these reviews but i have to say that has never been my experience. I highly recommend this company. read more

I had 2 large trees removed & stumps grinded at a property where I live . Rick's Expert Tree Service is great! I had four trees removed from our back yard in a very tight spot. They had my tress down in a few hours even with a rain delay!. The project was fast, & clean, with no headaches whatsoever! I was amazed at how they removed the branches without damaging any of the buildings around or under them! They will be back tomorrow to grind the stumps and I expect that to go just a smoothly as today went. They completely transformed my yard! Before they removed the trees, we never used that area of the yard. Now we will be able to enjoy our whole back yard. John was very knowledgeable and gave us good advice. He returned calls and came back to address questions that came up after the initial meeting. The office staff was also supportive and friendly. I called Rick's to have a tree removed and another trimmed. I left a message and within minutes received a call back from their receptionist. The arborist came to my home a few hours later and gave me a truly fair price for the job. The trees were done a couple of days later, and the stump removed a couple of days after that. I called for an estimate for three trees to be removed. They were a bit slow on the quote though once we approved it they were out that day to take care of a tree that could possibly cause an issue. They came back and completed the removal of the other two trees. The crew was very polite and they cleaned up great all while dealing with rush hour morning traffic in the industrial park. I hired Rick's Expert Tree Service to trim the trees at my business. There were fourteen trees over 60 feet high. John and his crew had to maneuver around a razor wire fence and power lines. I have purchased firewood from many of the area suppliers and can tell you that Rick's is the best. 1. I placed my order; they came the next day. 2. Wood pile was very clean because they hand load the truck. Other places like to give you a lot of crap (bark, mulch, and dirt) that you have to clean up afterwards. 3. Wood was finely split (i.e. small pieces). Other places like to deliver logs that have only been split once and require further splitting. 4. Wood was well seasoned and ready to burn. We hired Rick's to remove a monstrous dead oak tree that was very close to our deck. I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently they took that tree down. The crew was absolutely incredible.
