The first time they did a safety inspection on my wife's Jeep a few years ago, they missed a huge…read morecrack in the front suspension , which caused a wheel to break straight off as we pulled out of a parking space. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because other mechanics told me it wouldn't be unusual to miss that on an inspection. They also agreed to fix it pretty quickly, after we had it towed there. Fast forward to last week, this time my 2013 Rav4 with 130k miles that's been pretty well maintained was overdue for a tire rotation. They performed it at no charge. Immediately, a loud noise is audible at lower speeds and coming to a stop. Not a seized caliper, and too coincidental with timing of rotation. I assumed it could be a balancing issue. I also made sure it wasn't anything silly like lugs not being tightened all the way. Decided to call them and ask if they could take a look, since it's reasonably possible they caused the issue. I told them I'd pay a diagnostic fee even if I thought they may have done something. We are a one vehicle family and I've been racking up miles since I started a second job delivering food. I got a callback where the woman at the front desk told me "we don't diagnose things here", added that the shop was closing for a week for a family vacation, and then tried to steer me to another garage. What kind of licensed PA inspection station doesn't diagnose mechanical problems? Especially if they may be responsible? You're telling me if I am going to fail inspection they wouldn't try to find out why? Or know how to check their own work? Before this tire rotation, I had my annual inspection done there and requested regular interval maintenance, which would be lube, oil, filter change and a tire rotation. When I picked the car up, I was shocked at their price increases. I paid basically the same amount I would have at the Toyota dealership, and they tell me they didn't even rotate the tires! I'm no mechanic but I know tires should be rotated with each interval service. If you're just going to only accept cake (brake jobs and oil changes) don't bother keeping your inspection license. Nobody should trust these people, no matter how friendly they might be. There's a reason they have competitors right across the street who have been doing it much longer and never had to sweat Bangor Tire and Auto coming into town. I used to take my car to the dealership, even for regular maintenance. They are expensive. I heard people talk about how affordable this place is, and how nice they are as people. Unfortunately, that's not enough to run a good shop. They're also no more affordable than any other independent shop in the area, any more.

I went there yesterday I told them to replace my rear brakes. I was told by different mechanics from another from another station. I need rear brakes when I went to Terry auto mechanic and I spoke to Terry. I left the car overnight call me first thing in the morning and he informed me I had about 30,000 miles left on my rear brakes, no need to change your brakes you've been misinformed, as far as I'm concerned, you're very honest to me that means a lot because you could've told me yes your knee brakes and hit me for $280 obvious that did not happen which I'm very grateful for that and I will continue go to him to my opinion that was very honest for him to tell me that so I felt he's not there to rip off people Terry I greatly appreciate it. What are you doing? Thank you for your service and I will keep going back for future service. If any time I feel that I'll be taking for a ride. I will post it the bad news as well as a good news honesty is the best policy. Thank you Terry. See you soon.

Recently, he handled a complex timing chain replacement on my suburu wrx sti as and a full transmission rebuild on an older motorcycle--jobs that other shops quoted sky-high or tried to upsell unnecessary work. Colby diagnosed everything accurately, explained the issues clearly without any BS, used quality parts, and charged fair prices that beat the dealers by a mile. I know this because I am currently a certified auto/diesel technician with 10 years in the field so I would know if he was trying to get over on me in any way. I just don't have the room or time to do work on my own vehicles. His shop is always clean and professional, he keeps you updated throughout the process, and the work is done right the first time with no comebacks. As someone who has seen first hand how tough it mite be to find a reliable place to have your vehicle serviced, finding Colby has been a game-changer. If you're looking for honest, expert auto repair where they treat you like family and stand behind their work, this is the place. Highly recommend--Colby and his team have earned my business for life!"
