Their price was beyond what we could afford, so I started shopping around. W.E.Brown roofing had good reviews, so we called them about the stand-alone structure. Their price was in our budget, and we really liked the knowledge and experience of the fellow who came out to spec the job, Ron Bush. They were able to get us on the schedule fast, and the team that came out to replace the roof did a great job. It looks beautiful, and the technology behind the new shingles is impressive. A couple sheets of plywood needed to be replaced, and they needed to brace one of the rafters to hold the plywood securely. They explained everything they were doing and why it needed to be done. I was worried the price would shoot up, but it ended up being entirely reasonable, and now that structure's roof is going to last for years. I'm really happy with them, and we're going to go with Brown when it comes time to replace our main roof. It was a really good experience. I don't think anyone really *wants* to get this kind of work done, but when you need it, you need it, and they made it not only painless, but pleasant.

He was contracted to build a front porch, put up siding and a metal roof. He said he would be done in 1 week, it's now 9 weeks later and snowing....no roof, no siding and one screwed up porch! Not to mention he said that they would be responsible for cleaning up their mess. I think the pictures show how well that worked out. After not being able to reach him for over a week, he didn't respond to phone calls, text or emails. (My niece even called the State Prison to find out if he was behind bars). They sent him a text and called to tell him that he was fired, effective immediately. Oh he responded to that call. Pictures of text are included in my photos. If you read all his responses to the other reviews. Nothing is ever his fault! We've contacted the Secretary of State as well as our local police. (They are afraid that this psychopath will do something to their house) And an attorney to try and recover some of their money. This is a WARNING to everyone, do NOT hire this company!! I had also contacted him through Yelp to be sure he recieved my email. I gathered this roofing information and sent it to him to make the most of his time. Unfortunately, he has no respect for anyone else's. He didn't have the courtesy to respond one way or the other. If the job was something he didn't want to take on, then a simple email saying so would suffice. Apparently, that was too inconvenient. Even easier than that would be for him just to say he's not interested when discussing it over the phone. Why have me gather this stuff, send it to him, and then... nothing? Of course finding out now is much better than actually trying to get him to come back and finish any work he started after paying him. You can imagine his response if you need to call him back to repair a mistake. Actually there is no need to imagine, just read the review from 'Jocelyn' in which this business broke the law by not calling Dig Safe and then denied everything. He damaged her property and won't return her calls (sounds familiar). And calling Dig Safe couldn't be easier, its just three numbers - 811. It costs nothing and takes two minutes. So if that is too much trouble for this contractor, what do you think the quality of his work would be? Maybe its fine and maybe its not. Use all information available to you to make the right decision in who you hire. At first, working with Brian seemed promising. However, as the work progressed, it became clear…read morethat he was using cheap materials and lacked the skill or attention needed to do the work. We spent tens of thousands of dollars with BESC just to discover that his work needed to be completely redone. Major issues included: - An ineffective roof patch (we are experiencing the same leaks we saw pre-patch); - The installation of cheap plastic deck latticing (which was not approved and damaged the existing wooden structure); - The installation of a "custom" cabinet design (which also was not approved, effectively decentered our kitchen sink, and incorporated cheap and mismatched tiles that were installed unevenly); - A failed thermostat installation (wires were simply left disconnected); and - An abandoned door installation (for which we advanced the cost of materials that were variously never provided or installed). The list goes on. When we raised these concerns, Brian simply stopped all communications. As a result, we have lost months of potential short term rental income and spent tens of thousands more to redo his work. The contractors who have since reviewed Brian's work have been incredulous over the lack of quality and we are now concerned that other work that he performed will create issues in the future. We are considering legal action and reporting him to the BBB. I strongly recommend against using Brian and/or BESC.
