She explains the 'why' behind medications or why you feel a certain way more than any traditional doctor has ever done. Dr. DeLuca helped me go from regular migraines and other miscellaneous less bothersome maladies to feeling great most days. I have more energy and fewer headaches - all with natural supplements like magnesium and vitamins. I highly encourage anyone who is struggling with a health problem to give Natural Paths a chance. They really listen, genuinely care and the whole staff is incredibly friendly. The new office is absolutely stunning and at a convenient location!

This then led to a natural remedy or two and a complete turnaround for her weight and low energy. I've always been skeptical of natural medicine but after that story (and knowing my colleague is an educated health care professional), I consulted her for various issues and so have family members. She's very smart, methodical, and gets results. At the same time, she is very safety conscious and I don't worry about taking a natural remedy that may cause harm. The office staff have all been lovely and I very much appreciate being able to do remote visits even Orr COVID!

I miss Dr. Costa so much! I moved away two years ago and have not been able to find a doctor I like…read morenearly as much. I guess I've been spoiled. Dr. Costa is nonjudgmental and I was always able to get an appointment within 24 hours if I was sick. She always takes time to answer questions, and I always had a LOT of them. We made decisions about my health care together. She got to know me and treated me like the kind of patient I want to be -- someone who takes part in healthcare decisions, not someone who blindly follows doctor's orders without understanding the reasons and the risks. She even supported me when I said I wanted to try to manage my diabetes with diet and exercise instead of the medication she wanted to prescribe. I like Dr. Costa so much that for a year after I moved I kept her as my doctor even though it meant driving two hours each way to appointments! That didn't work out so well when I was really sick so I had to break down and find a doctor locally. (She did prescribe for me over the phone, though, when I was sick and unable to make the drive.) No charge for calling in prescriptions, unlike my current doctor who charges 25 bucks! They maintain records on a computerized system (also unlike my current doc who uses paper records). It makes it easy for them to compare test results to track progress. One complaint: when I did change doctors I asked for a copy of my medical records and they cost more than 100 bucks! They had to be ordered through some other company that manages records requests. I suspect (though I'm not sure) that I could've had them directly sent to my new doctor perhaps at no charge) but I wanted a copy myself as well. I feel like the charge is unreasonable because my insurance company and I already paid for the creation of the records. I understand a small copying fee, like 20 cents a page or something to cover costs, but this ended up being much, much more than that per page. Anyway, 5 stars for Dr. Costa, zero stars for the office policy on paying for records.

She will never rush you, she is very sensitive with patients who are sexual assault survivors, and she does her best to make everything as comfortable as possible. I thought that because so few places in the area take Medicaid, I was going to get stuck with a terrible office like Dentistry (which can be incredibly poor for people on Medicaid and Medicare in Central PA), but I'm so glad I went here. I barely had to wait, too!

I would have thought a follow up appointment and my first full screening would have been scheduled asap after the surgery but they didn't seem to think it was necessary. Months later and with no further reminders or outreach, I had an appointment with a nurse practitioner who was okay, but after another appointment the following year with zero reminders I decided to look around for another practice. I'd also say their patient portal isn't the greatest. Coworkers were going to Dermatology Associates of York and liked it, so I was able to schedule an appointment at their Mechanicsburg office with an actual MD dermatologist and have been going there for the past couple years. That's where you want to go if you need serious dermatology care, they're great, great patient outreach and response, great patient portal. I realized I hadn't had a complete skin cancer screening before I went there. Oh, and I one point I actually tried to schedule an appointment with the family practice that's connected to the Penn State specialties office, but similar issues, they didn't have any actual doctors who could see me for months, just physician assistants or NPs- I'm sorry if this sounds "elitist" but I'm over 50 years old and now with a history of cancer so I wanna see a real doctor, not an almost doctor who has to have their work checked and approved by real doctors. I'm now a patient at the Pinnacle/UPMC family practice in Camp Hill. I'd recommend them too.
