I'll start by saying that the craftsmanship here is excellent. It's probably the best shoe repair…read morestore I have found in Toronto, and I've come here multiple times. So why am I only leaving a two-star review? Because the shop is a one-person operation, and when the owner is away there is no backup. I've come to the store several times to find a note on the door saying that they are closed for the day. In 2023, it's not too much to ask for a business to have a website - or even a Twitter feed - that notifies people if they are closed. But even in the absence of an online presence, the store could at least have a recorded message that people can hear when they call in. Guess what? The owner hasn't even bothered to set up his voicemail. Not all of us have the free time to drive halfway across town multiple times just to find the shop closed. Not all of us have the luxury of waiting extra days past the promised delivery date to pick up our shoes. This is the kind of business that I want to support, and it gives me no pleasure to give a low review to a guy who does great work. But when the shop can't deliver a basic service reliably, that's what we're left with.

Hands down one of the BEST shoe repair place in the city of Toronto!…read more I have brought - shoes that i thought I couldn't wear any more due them not fitting - why cause i bought them too big! I am one of those shoppers that when I buy my shoes, i usually err on caution i buy a tad bigger. I tried a few places in my hood, little Italy and No one could help! go figure! No only did he fix these shoes, one of my favourite retro Betty Page black platform stillo pumps! but he also fixed a few other of my boots, and leather goods.. Love this guy!

Fantastic job. Not cheap but then their workmanship is really evident. I took in two pairs of…read moreBlundstone's (a winter pair and a regular pair) that had uppers in good shape but on which the heels and soles were very worn and which I had basically retired. Plus I took in a pair of R.M. Willams Craftsman Boots for a more traditional heel and sole repair. Nick's resoled the Blundstone's with Vibram soles, including a chunky, seriously treaded winter set and the boots are now probably better than when I bought them. The R. M. Williams ones also look great. They can't perform absolute miracles, of course, so if you have small cuts in the leather they are permanent (though usually disguisable with a bit of polish or wax) but a bit of use is to be expected in a boot. P.S., I have no idea why my profile says San Francisco, as I live in Toronto and have never even been to that part of California.

Went here to inquire about repairing a vintage belt. It's an easy fix really, just a quick sew-job…read moreand it would be good to go. The man who works there might be one of the rudest people I've ever met. Greeted me almost immediately with unnecessary attitude. I had a simple question and he refused to answer it. Didn't offer any middle ground and was pretty useless all together. I can only imagine that if I had got work done by him, it would have been a shoddy as his approach to customer service. Judging by the other reviews, I'm not alone... just terrible!

I think people that end up writing bad reviews (just look at Google for a bunch of complaints…read moreagainst this store) expect everyone they encounter to be a certain way. Just because someone doesn't have a personality you deem to be acceptable doesn't mean a store deserves poor ratings. My husband and I went in last night to inquire about getting his belt sewed, a watch battery replaced, and have some links taken out of his watch strap. The man who works here is clearly a hands-on person, very focused on his job and not really looking to have a conversation. I'm a chatty person, I tried a few times but he wasn't very responsive. Is that a bad thing? No. I cannot expect everyone I meet to be talkative like I am. The prices he quoted were exceptionally reasonable for what we wanted done (in total we paid $40 for everything. The last place my husband took his watch to have his battery replaced charged $30 to replace a battery (we'd have done it ourselves but the watch isn't the easiest to get to the back of) and they made us wait a few days until it was ready to be picked up. Minute Keys did all 3 things in HALF AN HOUR!!! He was also kind enough to say that if my husband wasn't happy with the watch band and wanted a few more links taken out to come back and he would do it free of charge. Simple and to the point, no bells and whistles. Stop expecting so much from a store. This man does his job and does it well, and I have no qualms about the man behind the counter being quiet. Remember folks, everyone has their own story and their own personality. If a job is done right, the rest shouldn't matter.
