Scratched my car and said nothing. Side mirror was upside down didn't even bother fixing it. Stay away.

I used to get my lawn fertilized by them. My neighbor still does. One reason why I stopped is they get fertilizer all over the street, sidewalk and even my porch and by our cities code they have to blow it back on the lawn but they do not so we have to walk in it and then when it rains it goes down the sewer directly into the lake. They just did my neighbors again and fertilizer is all over everything (not the grass). I addressed this with the person doing the fertilizing and he more or less said tough! Bad value for the money since their services are so expensive and they are wasting so much fertilizer and harming the environment! read more

I used Richters for the past two years. I pay for the season in advance. This week I had a for sale sign/sold on our yard and they still treated and billed. I usually get an invoice in the mail stating the full amount but this year I did not. The invoice for the year is the reminder that we need to start service for a new season. I did get a text message the day before saying they were going to treat the yard. I tried calling the day of the text but no phone answer on their end. I did end up paying the bill. We used this service for two years. In year one we had reasonably good results and our son also used them. In mid season year two on a very hot day they fertilized with their equipment causing severe damage from tracking in our yard. While taking zero responsibility for the damage and offering no assistance or adjustment we discontinued the service. They had offered no solution only excuses. We were lastly told they do not know when unknown underlying causes might cause damage. Unusual for a purported professional lawn service. I was not present when they fertilized and caused the damage. As a homeowner for several decades I would have known to stop them from using their heavy equipment on my lawn on a 90 degree day. Needless to say we discontinued the service as did our son as they also had over fertilized his lawn. I might also they had significantly increased there charges in 3 years. read more

Remember Me! I had been a customer since 2013 all the way until fall 2020 when I sold my home. I passed on the company to the buyer of my home, as I did in the last home. I praised the company for the job that it did do. I found out when calling for service for my new home is, I am no longer a customer or client. My name is not in the system just an address. But, I also found out I should never ask for any type of discount, as the woman on the phone said to me " you want a discount just because". I felt or thought possibly that I should have been offered at least the preseason price discount, but how stupid of me! So here it is. After years of passing your name on and not asking for any referral pushback or a thank you, i will never mention your company in a positive manner. Beware - Will bill you for services you NEVER requested. Below is a summary of what I experienced. My wife purchased an annual lawn service (fertilizing, weed control) in March 2019 for the Summer of 2019. She paid in full, and was not billed for any service. We did not sign a contract and just wanted it one time. We did not want to sign up for anything. It was a "one-time" deal. Last March/April, I returned home from work, and there were signs from Richter that they had treated my lawn, and left me an invoice for $61.90. I called Richter immediately, and they claimed that they called, emailed, etc, to "remind me" that the service would renew automatically. I never agree to renew ANYTHING, nor did I receive any emails, etc. I feel it is unscrupulous business practices to have someone OPT-OUT for a service when they only wanted it one time. Like going to a car dealer, buying a car, and next year, you do not OPT-OUT and you have just purchased another car???? I know, crazy!!!! Since that time, I have been receiving invoices every month or so, with an additional Invoice fee of $5.00 each invoice I have received. So now my outstanding balance is $101.90 for a service I did not even request. I called recently and was told I had to pay. I refuse to pay for something I did not want. read more

I have been a Richters customer for several years. Prior to that, I did my own fertilizing and my grass has never looked as good as it has with Richters. Only one time I saw some weeds after they had done a treatment and they came out the day after to remedy that at no extra charge. In the fall of last year we noticed that our Red October Maple tree had a fungus. We contacted Richter's to come and try to help. They happily came to our house within a week and gave our tree a deep root treatment and supposedly sprayed our problem tree with some type of chemicals. They stated they would be back out in the spring BEFORE the tree bloomed to spray again. In April they came out and apparently sprayed all the bushes in my front unbeknownst to me because my fence was locked ( my problem tree was in the back yard ) and dropped me a bill. I didn't authorize any tree or bushes to be treated besides my back tree that had a fungus. Again in May, My fence was locked with the problem tree and they arrived to my house AFTER the tree bloomed, the door bell rang at 8am while I was at work and my younger son was home. It was Richter's. My son did not answer the door as we were not expecting anyone that day. As stated above My privacy fence was locked where the problem tree was located but they decided to spray my front yard that I never asked to be treated a second time and dropped me another bill. I'm not even sure that was done ( my son stated they left right away, I would have to roll back my cameras ). We called the office to a very rude Kristen who stated that all the prices were the same wether they treat one tree or all the bushes and trees in the whole yard and we agreed to a yearly treatment. I did not sign nor did my husband sign any type of contract. I ONLY wanted treatment for our one tree AND it was not treated and has the same problem. When we called Kristen in the office she not only aggravated the problem by blaming us for not checking our voice mail when they stated that they were coming out she was extremely rude. Told us to not call again for any type of business. ( I hadn't gave it a second thought ). As business owners, this is extremely bad business as you should try to make the situation right. My family and business has used them in the past. Never again and I will make sure to pass the word around. read more

Hired them last year for a one time payment to do 6 applications, did not plan on using them this year because I'm paying to put two kid through college. They evidently did two applications without me hiring them this year. They harassed me endlessly for the payment, so I called to get a copy of signed contract showing where I agreed to applications till cancellation. They never sent it to me, but I paid them just to make them go away. One month later they send me a bill for a late fee for the service I didn't agree to. So now they are harassing me again, lol. I'll probably send the 20 bucks just to make them go away. Beware, they are a pain in the neck to get rid off! Wasn't that impressed with results either. read more

I had the opportunity to use the services of Richters Beautificaation due to an illness that prevented me from fertilizing myself. I called the number on the pamphlet Irecieved in the mail and I have never needed to fertlize my own grass again. They come out regularly and spot treat areas tht need certain services and it is the greenest lawn on the block. The cost is the same as if I did it myself and you don't have to worry about weather and picking up the product or if it will get put down even. They do a great job.
