We hired Rich to paint the exterior of our 2-story home. We had a particular paint brand that we wanted to use, and Rich had experience with it / approved it for this project. Our home has a steeply pitched roof, and several dormers to work around, making it a challenging project. Rich had a great attitude about working through the challenges and "got it done". The house had iron stains on two sides from irrigation over-watering, but Rich did a great job of power washing the house and removing all the stains prior to painting. Rich did outstanding work - we're very happy with the outcome. He is a seasoned professional, and knows what it takes to do quality work. If the conditions aren't right, he won't apply paint. Rich does a great job of communicating with his clients - he made it a point at the end of every day to tell us how the work was going, what his objectives were for the next day, and made us aware of any issues he was facing. From a cost perspective, Rich's bid was competitive. We appreciated how responsive he was, how quickly he came out to review the property and create an estimate, and to explain the basis for his estimate. Work started quickly, and was finished on schedule despite uncooperative weather. Rich came out last summer and wrote us an estimate for painting one side of our cabin that was too difficult for us to get to, as it was 24 feet high and on a steep incline. He also wrote a quote for our bunk house. We accepted his proposal and he got us on his busy schedule for this July. He gave us dates and kept us updated on his timeline and progress. Despite poor weather, with 100 degree heat, along with rain, Rich was able to complete our project within two weeks. I was placing my home on the market so it was a large job and money was not an issue for me, quality was. Be very clear about your expectations. Nail holes were not spackled, if there was a nail in the wall it was just painted over. Extremely heavy paint drops still visible and bubbling of paint. No time was taken to make sure these items were taken care of properly. He mentioned multiple times that he needed to get to other jobs in the area. Atkin is the one he really liked mentioning. Will do bare minimum to pass a quick walk through. He's about getting his money and moving onto the next job. read more

Contracted Rich to stain red cedar siding on my house. Workmanship was 5 out of 5! Was a really hard job and he completed it beyond my expectation. He worked till he finished job and didn't go off on other jobs. He would let me know from day to day what his plans were plus he would answer his phone unlike some contractors. You might get cheaper bids from other contractors but you get what you pay for. He shows good and honest old fashioned workmanship. read more
