Do not hire this company! In 2022 my husband and I hired SCS…read moreto build a custom post frame (shouse/ barndominium ) and install a septic system. Since then, we have had numerous issues and concerns with this company; while they have been contacted numerous times about the issues. Adam won't respond back half the time and when they do return its with a new bandage for their defects. I will skip over the fact they screwed up the second they poured our concrete and move on to their start septic installation. First time the septic backed up was almost right away and the water came through the main floor drain on November 9, 2022. They had to call for special equipment to pump out the debris and materials that were backed up in tank from the building/ construction period, lack of not covering holes. Next back up was due to improper pipe slope and an additional pipe came apart at a glue joint requiring an additional emergency repair. Within the first year our septic pump failed, with recent discoveries; found out they installed the tank backwards which was causing sludge to back up into the wrong tank. This was discovered on September 18th 2025 when we had the septic tank pumped. They returned on September 23rd to rip up the green lawn and turn the tank; at which time they also pinched our propane line. These people claim to know septic's but we found out this was not the first time they installed one backwards. There have been ongoing water leaks from roof penetrations as well as ongoing leaking where exterior wall to meets concrete due to improper sealing techniques. They did not install exterior sheathing nor a sill plate for water at the grade board. One of the most recent bandages were to install gutters on September 23rd2025 and dig out the green lawn that took me 2 years to grow; then they stated they were going to install rock. Gutters are not properly redirecting water and they decided not to install the rock. Needless to say, it did not work again. So they returned the next day on the 24th and applied globs and globs of silicone around the seams of the steel, in window cracks, around windows, around the door, and in the outlet boxes. This looks terrible and is completely incorrect, also has not fixed the problem. Biggest and most catastrophic discoveries were found by us that same week; two major structural defects. They never followed the engineered prints for structural integrity which has resulted in cracked sheetrock, sticking doors, and probably a major reason in the constant water issues along with cracks in foundation. Not to mention the fact that our roof trusses are not being held with anything other than nails on an angle. No hurricane ties, special screw anchors; nope, just nails on an angle. We are still waiting to hear their plan to fix these enormous structural issues along with the solutions to the sealing problems and fixing the interior damage due to their defects. SCS does not care about their clients and I am beside myself that we trusted this company to build our dream/ forever home.

My job…read morethat I had, replacing a small main service panel in the basement with a larger one and bringing all up to code with an externally disconnect and an added interlock for a generator, and the now mandatory "smart meter." I was very pleased with their work. They crew were professional, courteous, efficient, and competent. They did all I asked and did it well., and they did it below the quoted estimate. I could, would have done the work myself but just don't have the time or, at my age, the ambition to undertake a project that involves disconnecting the entire house. I'm not as fast a worker as I was when I was a young man. Lol. Anyway, I highly recommend them.

They replaced six ceiling fans, outdoor post lights, installed a smart thermostat, and a few odds and ends I discovered when they were onsite. The work was excellent, the team professional, came when they said, finished on time, and cleaned up well after the job. They treated my job just like it was a big, important job and I appreciated that. The owner even called me a couple days after my job was finished to make sure everything was OK! I fully endorse Hopkins Electric!
