As an out-of-state owner of a rental condo in Vetro in the South Loop, I have trusted CL3…read moremanagement from faraway Texas for the last 9 years. John Materna and his hardworking staff have been at the ready whenever a new tenant moved in or repairs were needed. Although some tenants were difficult, CL3 kept me informed via email regarding expenses. For example, they found bargain prices when a refrigerator no longer worked and a washer/dryer unit broke down, one after the other. Thomas Clohisy shopped around and we were able to replace each with a new appliance. Thank you Thomas! Especially helpful was CL3's regular documentation of both minor and major expenses as they came up. From a light bulb (really!) to a large window that had to be replaced, I had the receipts for all repairs and improvements over a 9-year period. That came in handy when my insurance company covered all costs for the huge window replacement--$2500! John and Brett Huelat's employees always handled difficult problems expeditiously and quickly, and stayed in contact with me whenever "disasters" such as accidentally flushing a gold necklace down the toilet occurred. Thankfully, it was recovered quickly. I stayed in touch with the company mainly through email, and when tax time came around I had the spreadsheets necessary to support expenses. My CPA was grateful for such detailed information. Now that I am selling the condo, I am grateful for CL3's care and concern over the years, which has kept the unit in good condition. Through teamwork, cooperation with tenants as well as the landlord (me!), and expert support, I am able to recommend the company and its employees without any reservations.

I cannot rate David highly enough. He was our real estate agent last year as first-time home buyers also expecting our first baby. He was incredibly responsive, always in-contact, and always found an answer for us when we reached out with questions. We never felt pressured to make a decision. Even when, earlier this year, we had an issue with our new Jefferson Park condo and needed consulting on our contract, he responded right away and went above and beyond to help us resolve it. David is also just a great, sweet guy. :) We are so incredibly happy with our first home, and we will definitely be contacting David when it comes time for us to make our next move!!

Her professionalism, honesty, integrity and hard work were very much appreciated and respected. She is very detailed, honest, and just so great to work with. From the first home she viewed with us, to the last, she remember every single detail of things we liked & disliked and as I sent her listing after listing until we found the one, she advised on before even going to the listing if we would like it or not. 10/10 experience with her and the team! This has been a terrible experience. They have two different names. Sometimes they go by Corcoran…read moreurban and sometimes they go by urban. I've been told that it's a violation for the him to have a different name on their sign but they do. I tried to talk to Matt Farrell, the managing broker about some of my issues and I can't even get him to reply. The agent that I have worked with is pretty awful. He doesn't do any of the things that he says he's going to do and then when I ask about it, he find some way to blame me about it. He's argumentative and petty. You know how some people will add things like ??!!!???!! to emphasize that they are yelling at the end of their messages? Yeah, my agent does this all the time. I'm not mentioning his name right now because I can't get out of the contract and God knows I tried. But I will mention his name and some of the things that happens specifically which include him trying to rip me off for several thousands of dollars. The first time it was because he had his painters come in. Before I ever signed the agreement I wanted to know the exact cost and it was $5000. Then he said before he would list my house I had to agree to paying an additional $2800. No extra work was done other than what we discussed ahead of time. In fact, they wouldn't even discuss the job with me. I had to talk to Chris. And he never discussed any extra work that was done with me. In fact what the guy said multiple times was, "this is way easier than we thought it would be. It's just a bunch of little stuff". The second time was when I tried to get out of the contract and he said made up an agreement in which I would have paid an additional $5000 just for no reason that was explained. Obviously I didn't and then they took that out of that contract. I really can't tell you enough how much I feel this company has earned the many one star reviews that you will find if you look under urban real estate at 400 East Randolph St. I didn't check reviews first. My real estate agent is immature and argumentative frequently ending his sentences with ???!!!???!!' Which we all know means yelling by text. He usually find some way to blame me for the thing he did wrong, like a one time I didn't have people coming to see the house for a week and then I had a couple different people come after 5 o'clock on Saturday. They told me that the only available time to book an appointment was after 5 o'clock on Saturday. I work from home. I'm available all the time and instead of saying oh sorry I made a mistake, he said, "but you said you only wanted people to come after 5 o'clock on Saturday", which of course I didn't and not only that Pet we had talked for months by this time and he knew I was available or he should have. But he won't admit he's done wrong. Here are some exact copies of recent texts that he has sent me : I took some new photos because a lot Lot of his cut half of the room off and mine showed the whole room. He said that they would post them but five days later, they hadn't been posted he said: "How funny is it that I stop you from embarrassing yourself by not publishing some poorly taken photographs and then I learn what you have been saying behind my back. Disgusting! You would think a 60+ year old woman would know better". I think he was talking about the review. I don't remember what this was about: "I now realize after your last act of selfishness... You and you alone are the source of all these problems". Most of the texts have been deleted. These are just that a few that I still have. That kind of language made me feel verbally attacked, and it's not the kind of language that I use. I also would never add multiple ! And ? To make my text aggressive. Especially when I'm at work! I often felt shocked by his replies, honestly. I feel like he tried to bully me into shutting up when he would forget things or mess things up, and it usually worked. I am a woman alone. Maybe he is doing the best he can and that would be kind of sad, but it has made my life miserable. Hopefully they will have more recent good reviews and things will turn around for them. But if they are not getting any better reviews, there are a lot of one star reviews here. There are a lot of real estate agents out there who are trying very hard to make a name for themselves and giving good customer service, earning 5 star reviews. I do feel bad about leaving a one star review, but honestly, I feel morally obligated to try to tell people that this experience has been very bad for me.
