My kid started at Watershed last year after many tries at other schools ,and for the first time in a long time, he's looking forward to going back for his senior year. The school is very student-centered, and incredibly kind, welcoming and feels safe ( I qualify that because how safe is any school, really, these days?). They do lots of less than typical projects with the kids, including travel to an organic farm with whom they have an outstanding relationship, and very interestingJ-term projects. Very great senior project (you work on it all year and present to the school and community) as well as a senior trip that the kids plan themselves and fundraise for, so everyone can go. They make a big deal out of the "watershed "moment of transition from senior to out in the world. So, some balance: the school is very small, so less variety. Only one language taught, fewer options than a big school. A small school is vulnerable to just a few kids skewing the test scores, but nevertheless this doesn't seem to be a test-score based acadmic powerhouse. But if you want your kid to develop a life-long love of learning, as opposed to competing over monster SAT's, give it a look.

We knew he was kind. But anxiety had become so overwhelming that school no longer felt like a place where he could learn or succeed. We've been coming here for their VBX and our girls love the environment and the number of kids at…read moretheir age is a plus. The members and church staff are super friendly and welcoming. We love that they are gracefully ask for parent involvement with members of the church to help in different capacity. The time spent here is well worth it for the amount of kids program they have available throughout the year. They have a contemporary and traditional services on Sunday at 9am and 10:30 which is family friendly. They have kids Wednesday night workship for kids called KWAM. They have 3 different service times for Christmas Eve workship that are family friendly at 3 and 4pm and then a candlelight at 9pm. Definitely recommend checking them out.
