No matter who takes your information to pass it on, Dave and his manager will never call you back. Windows were purchased through them for my dad's company for the house he was flipping. They originally quoted them a certain price to install the windows that were purchased. Since it's now my house and no longer being worked on by the same contractor, they won't honor that price. My contractor now has been calling constantly too for a call back. Would not use archer if I were redoing the house again. Worst customer service and beyond unprofessional.

A gentleman named Carmelo came to the house and I soon realized I was in store for a lengthy, rehearsed, in-your-face, hard sell schtick. His performance was Oscar-Worthy. He also curiously said that he was a Christian man, which completely took me by surprise and offended me ( I am not a Christian). It implied that Christians were self-righteously better than other people. He continued his performance inside, showing me a demonstration prop of the "special" Green Guard Raindrop House Wrap. Needless to say, this house wrap was exorbitantly priced. At the end of his performance (after 2 hours) he writes up the estimate by hand and the price is an astounding $9000 for a small section of siding needing to be replaced. Needless to say, I did not hire East Coast even with a "generous" Economic Relief Rebate Program (East Coast's fancy-named so-called discount) of $1300. But I must decide to hire that day or I will not get this "generous" discount and my quote will become $10300. I have never encountered a contractor this greedy before this day! Angry Homeowner

I had have 10 Andersen windows installed previously, some Woodwright which I stained and some 400…read moreseries which I painted to match woodwork. All replacement. Matera installed some of them. Salesman this time upsold me new construction windows and I was leaving in a few days for a month so I wanted ot get them ordered. I painted them prior to installation. The installation was horrific - tiny cracks in the plaster now large requiring patching, pieces of plaster ripped off the wall requiring patching and painting entire walls. But the worst was the excessive and beyond shoddy caulking. I've never seen caulking so poorly done. Matera Bldrs.had completely redone my kitchen 9 years ago and the work, including caulking was excellent. This was appaling. I sent photos to Bob and he tried to defend work he knew was indefensible. He sent someone to try to fix some of the caulk but it was no better and I sent photos to Bob again. My woodwork is a different color then the walls and now there were no right angles, making painting sloppy. Bob and workers acknowledge that I am a good painter but this was impossble. Bob did discount the work some and did eventually apologize but that didn't help what was fairly pristine before the installation. They treated my $13,000 investment casually and carelessly. They simply gave me their best price-and I didn't need to sign a contract on the spot to get the "best" price. They are an honest, meticulous family business who truly cares about their customer. They respect your time and your home-from taking off their shoes as they walked around getting their measurements, to the installers who cleaned up after they were done. Ian and dad, Robert, were quick to respond to any issues or concerns I may have had. They even went a step further. When the windows came in from the factory, they had to be up to Ian's tough standards. I had one window that didn't meet Ian's expectations and he sent it back and ordered a new one-that window never even made it my house. They stand behind their product-both during installation and after. As a single mom, I felt like I was getting the best product for the best price by a company that stands behind their product and their service. We ordered three windows and French doors from Energy Windows via Ian Bloch one of the owners…read more Presentation and pricing were positive. We were told it would take 4 to 6 weeks for the materials to come in, which was accurate. The challenge was the installation of the door by Ian's brother in law. There was a 1/2 inch gap at the top of the door on one side. When I mentioned it, I was told the manufacturer ProVia would have to fix it and they would call me within two weeks - no call after three weeks, so I called at 10:00 on the Friday before Memorial Day and was told to call back next week. Called Tuesday and received a call back on Wednesday saying they would check with the manufacturer. ProVia called on Friday to say it would be three weeks for an appointment- meanwhile the door would not lock, so I propped a door at night against the door. ProVia actually came out two days early and fixed the lock and molding but we were told the 1/2 inch gap needed to fixed by Energy Windows, so after another round of calls they finally fixed the gap. Frustrating experience and disappointing results. A little empathy would have gone a long way.

All 52 were reasonably priced, fit like gloves and have worked perfectly. Most recently, they have helped me install three large custom Hunter Douglas shades in a 45 year old condominium. To be honest, there isn't a straight line/angle in the building and the blackouts weren't 100% blackout at first. However, the staff worked patiently and responsively with me until I was 100% satisfied. This is a great business that will take care of any window treatment needs you may have.

Following…read moreinstallation I was left with considerable damage to wall surrounding windows: torn surfaces of interior wallboard surrounding window frames, cracks of wallboard inself, tears of wall surfaces, unpainted wood framing, open nail holes. When contacted Paul Stitler said things just happen and I would just have to get someone to repair the damage (at my expense). Two neighbors who recently had window replacement confirmed that their installers took care of any problems and left them with perfect installations. A visiting contractor who saw the damage said that it should never have been left that way for me to take care of. Pictures available on request.
