It was really informative, the presenter was very nice and answered all necessary questions needed to maintain a beautiful rose garden. I show pictures of vendors but the only way to get the full effect of everyone present would be to attend, I didn't get everyone although I wanted to.. Our reservation was canceled because they double booked the day and called it a "glitch". This is a mistake that should NEVER happen, especially for something as important as a wedding. What makes this even more frustrating is that the Lori (staff member) who we spoke with the day we reserved the venue was not helpful and came across as very rude. But, she sure was quick to take our deposit without knowing what was and wasn't available on their own schedule. No glitch there, huh? This situation shows a serious lack of organization and accountability. If you're managing bookings for MAJOR life events, you need to be fully aware of what is and isn't reserved before taking people's money. This was a completely avoidable mistake, and it caused unnecessary stress during what should be an exciting time. I strongly urge them to improve their booking system, communication, and staff so no one else has to go through this.

That type of thoughtfulness is rare in an environment where the old is torn down asap so the new can go up. Over the decades this arena has hosted music, graduation,rodeo,circus...you name it. I have attended many events here. But none more memorable than my 1972 attendance to The Rolling Stones . Walking in today I remembered why it was such a great music venue. Not a bad seat in the house. The chairs are still comfortable. Acoustics are great. Elvis,Cher,Leon Russell,Willie Nelson,Garth Brooks. On and on ad infinitum. When my boys were young, they enjoyed the Young Author workshops. They were able to make a hard covered book and illustrate it too. In fact, a few years ago the library was downsizing their homemade collection and they even got in touch with me to see if we'd like his book! How wonderful that now my son can share a book he made when he was in the 6th grade with his children! How kind that they took the time and effort to track down the original authors some 30 years later! When I was taking care of my grandchildren before they started elementary school, I would bring them to Wiggle Worms and we enjoyed many of the programs they offered. I have also enjoyed many of the Richardson Reads One Book programs over the years. It was fun to see some of the autographed posters of the authors advertising their RROB hanging in the temporary library space. At the events, I enjoyed hearing directly from the author their "behind the scenes" info about their book. All of the librarians I have ever come in contact with have always been so pleasant and helpful. On a recent trip, I was asking a librarian for a book suggestion. I had just finished reading "Theo of Golden" by Allen Levi and was looking for a book that was similar to it. It ended up being one of my all time favorite books and I was sad when I finished reading it because I loved it so much. The librarian kindly recommended three books to me and I checked out two of them on the spot. As I was leaving her desk, I discovered a seed library that was housed in an up-cycled wooden card catalog cabinet. You have to be a certain age to know what a card catalog is! Ha! So cool!!! I'm so excited that they will soon be re-locating back to the original library location at Arapaho & US 75/Central expressway. This temporary location will close October 11 and then they will start the huge task of moving everything back over to the newly remodeled space. A solid 5 stars for the Richardson Public Library!!!!! Readers are Leaders!

It is very open and looks like it could be used as a small convention site, huge social function, a bazar, wedding or large party! In fact, there were left over streams that looked like a wedding reception had been held. It seems like an old building but had been recently refurbished/painted. For our event, we were seated at large round tables which means some had to turn their chairs. Although we were only there about 3 hours, the venue worked.

One of my relatives mentioned that she wanted to host a mini family reunion but she needed a venue in the Fort Worth area. After brainstorming with a few other relatives, this venue came up. The venue is fairly new and has already hosted many events, from gospel concerts to weekly church services to other gatherings. There are smaller rooms that can be transformed to accommodate the needs of various groups and there is also the grand ballroom that can be rented for more formal events. The prices are very reasonable (think around $300, that's a steal for 4 hours) and includes tables and chairs. You will have to pay a deposit but if you clean up after your event, you deposit will be returned. In addition to being very spacious on the inside, there is plenty of parking outside as well. This is a great venue and should not be overlooked because of its location.
