I found that the accomodations were very vendor friendly, employees of the Civic Center really care and want to help you get to where you are going. The layout inside was great, as long as you were in the main hall. If you get placed in one of the separate rooms, you will be "Off the beaten path" of many of the attendees. The loudspeaker person continually reminds attendees that there are separate rooms and not to miss whats in them. We have been here twice now for this craft fair (Set up booths in both) and will continue to return as a vendor. Thank you Waxahachie Civic Center for a great experience.

My fiancé and me are extremely disappointed with how the Waxahachie Civic Center handled our…read morewedding booking. Our reservation was canceled because they double booked the day and called it a "glitch". This is a mistake that should NEVER happen, especially for something as important as a wedding. What makes this even more frustrating is that the Lori (staff member) who we spoke with the day we reserved the venue was not helpful and came across as very rude. But, she sure was quick to take our deposit without knowing what was and wasn't available on their own schedule. No glitch there, huh? This situation shows a serious lack of organization and accountability. If you're managing bookings for MAJOR life events, you need to be fully aware of what is and isn't reserved before taking people's money. This was a completely avoidable mistake, and it caused unnecessary stress during what should be an exciting time. I strongly urge them to improve their booking system, communication, and staff so no one else has to go through this.

No, no and no. I…read morewent there for a school counselor conference at the same time as a cheerleading competition. Mind you these cheerleaders are little girls with the oldest maybe being 16. The staff at the convention certain kept yelling at us and them, saying how annoying they were and go to the other side of the convention. I get its safety and you want the kids secured, but they were rude as hell to those kids and parents, and I'm not even a cheerleading fan. As someone whose like cheerleading, whatever, for me to feel bad for those girls, that's something. They are actually strict about food and drinks brought in, but other convention centers have more options or don't care. Like the vending machines here were stupid expensive and there was no credit card feature so you were out of luck. The coffee shop had limited hours. Again, I think the organization of the conferences, the way the staff was rude and yelled at people, was out of line. I get it cheerleaders are loud and peppy, but come on their little kids and the whole point was for them to be loud and obnoxious cause i'm pretty sure chant volume counts for something with how loud they were. And if I as a non cheerleader fan can get over it, how can the staff that is supposed to be professional not be kind to them. If you even looked like a mom, you got yelled at. Thankfully I had school counselor gear on the whole time so no one yelled at me or I would have been livid. The layout is confusing and where one main entrance from another is confusing to those from out of town. This convention center nearly made me hate Fort Worth. I hope they work on teaching the staff to deal with these crowds and events or hire friendly people. Because if the George R. Brown in Houston can have grumpy people be polite and professional to people wearing star wars clothes during comicpalooza, these folks can freaking not yell at patrons. And you had to QR code every time the bathrooms were filthy. Ew. On a positive note, the carpet has a cute flower design. That is the only thing I liked. Otherwise, major fail.

The children's book area has plenty of books, but there's a lack of imagination and creativity. Again, I'm just not inspired to want to walk around and engage with the books. It feels too sterile. I hope that makes sense.

While the library is all the things a library should be and you would think it would be, the Richardson Public Library is SO much more... For example this past weekend they held "Eggstravaganza" which was essentially fun, games, and of course, an Easter egg hunt, for the kids. They also hold Mah Jongg lessons and host a Mah Jongg League, host computer classes, AI lessons, teach Excel, host job clinics, as well as several other events (check out my photo of the current and upcoming events calendar). These activities have been a great way for me to not only support them, but also re-connect with the community. The library is SO good in fact, last week they won the Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association. Wgat's more is that this is their 20th year in a row of winning this honor...Congratulations Richardson Public Library and thank you to all the staff and volunteers for doing what you all do!!!

It is very open and looks like it could be used as a small convention site, huge social function, a bazar, wedding or large party! In fact, there were left over streams that looked like a wedding reception had been held. It seems like an old building but had been recently refurbished/painted. For our event, we were seated at large round tables which means some had to turn their chairs. Although we were only there about 3 hours, the venue worked.

One of my relatives mentioned that she wanted to host a mini family reunion but she needed a venue in the Fort Worth area. After brainstorming with a few other relatives, this venue came up. The venue is fairly new and has already hosted many events, from gospel concerts to weekly church services to other gatherings. There are smaller rooms that can be transformed to accommodate the needs of various groups and there is also the grand ballroom that can be rented for more formal events. The prices are very reasonable (think around $300, that's a steal for 4 hours) and includes tables and chairs. You will have to pay a deposit but if you clean up after your event, you deposit will be returned. In addition to being very spacious on the inside, there is plenty of parking outside as well. This is a great venue and should not be overlooked because of its location.
