While not the cheapest option for picking up a greetings card, Paperchase is worth a visit. The…read morecards, whilst predominantely mass produced still have an air of individuality about them - something which is sorely lacking from competitors such as Clinton Cards. I'd still much rather use independant card retaillers who stock a wide variety of handmade cards, but as these are few and far between Paperchase makes for a good substitute and is leaps and bounds ahead of its low-rent competitors.

I have been to the Waterfront Inn on several occasions for a drink both during the summer months…read moreand during the dismal winter. During the summer its lovely to sit outside. Theres plenty of seating both at the front and at the back of the pub. It's within easy reach on Westward Ho! beach. Children are catered for - with an indoor soft play area for the little ones. The menu also includes childrens meals. There is also a pool table room however children should be supervised. Hot drinks are also served and the menu has a variety of meals. On Sundays they have a Carvery which is popular. A great place to have a drink or a bar meal!

Clinton cards is easy to find in Bideford High street. It sells a large variety of greetings cards…read morefor all occassions. It is quite easy to find the type of card you want as it is all labelled. At christmas, valentines day, easter etc they increase their stock. They also sell some lovely gifts such as mugs, picture frames and they do a great range of soft toys both small and large - and sometimes very large! I love their cards but do find them a bit expensive compared with other card shops. If i'm buying for someone special, like my husband or son I would consider looking here but for everyday cards I would go elsewhere.

The staff really are friendly and can't do enough for you. The location is stunning overlooking Widemouth Bay and with plenty of outside seating to enjoy the beautiful views. The food was absolutely fantastic, so much so that if I lived close by I'd be there at least once a week. One evening I tried the gammon steak which was a monster of a meal the gammon, which itself was a 12oz whopper and at least 2 inches thick, came with double fried eggs, pineapple rings, onion rings, chips and salad. It was all delicious but needless to say I couldn't eat it all. The portions are massive, the quality of food is excellent and the price is more than reasonable, I'd definitely recommend this place and if I ever find myself in Cornwall again I'll be making a bee line for the Bay View Inn!

Funderzone is a big indoor soft play centre. There are climbing frames, inflatables, ball pits,…read moreslides and lots more for your child to enjoy. All of the equipment is safe and surrounded in safety netting. There are staff that watch the children to make sure no one is messing around. But obviously you will need to keep an eye on your children to. There is also a room upstairs which has a pool table and downstairs it has a few arcade machines where you can win teddies and sweets. Whilst your children are running around you can get something to eat in the café which is all open plan. The café sells burgers, chips, hot drinks, cold drinks and slush puppies etc.. I find the food is slightly over priced but it tastes nice. The good thing about the cafe being open plan is that you can see your children playing; there is some seating underneath the play equipment as well so you can look up and see your children. The play centre is to suit all ages and I'm sure your children will love it.

The food is 3 stars but the setting is 5 stars, so 4 stars. After visiting the nearby Lydford Gorge…read moreand Waterfall, we were hungry and happened upon this cute-looking pub, and I think we made a good decision despite knowing nothing about it. It's hard to know if you can believe a sign that insists it is a "Character Pub", but this one does have legit character. It is clearly old and the decor doesn't seem to have changed in 30+ years, but it's really cute and English and I loved it. We sat in the beautiful back garden area for dinner, then moved inside for dessert when it started getting chilly, and we liked both spots. We were eating at a really weird time in the middle of the afternoon, so we practically had the whole place to ourselves, but we could tell it was going to get busy soon as several tables were reserved. I had a broccoli and cauliflower bake, which came with veggies (over-steamed with absolutely no flavour added whatsoever) and potatoes (I got the new potatoes, and had to ask for butter - they came with absolutely no flavouring). The cheese bake itself was also pretty bland, but not terrible. I liked the cheesy garlic bread and chips my friend ordered better than my own meal. She also got a burger that she really enjoyed. For dessert, the bread and butter pudding and sticky toffee pudding were good, and super filling, but nothing super exciting. I just loved the ambiance of this place so much that I didn't much care.

We arrived early, giving us time for a few drinks in their wonderful garden. A great selection of shrubs around the adequately spaced tables. Oh yeh, and a great selection of real ales LOL. After a short while we were shown to our room. Lovely room, with all the amentities needed. Comfy, clean bed. In fact the whole room was spotless. After a short nap we went down to dinner, the table had been reserved earlier which was a nice touch making us feel 'special'. Good menu with a choice that would cover every taste. Wines not overpriced as some pubs seem to do. Lovely meal with really good friendly, yet professional, service. A few drinks and we were ready for that comfortable bed. Although the room overlooked the road, it is a very quiet area and I don't think a car passed after 11.00 pm. The breakfast was filling and extremely wholesome. Didn't need a lunch after that 'gut buster'. Thanks everyone for a very pleasant overnight stay, we will be back.
