From Chris's first site-visit that included clipboard notations and photos I was impressed. The entire process was so well managed with timely notification of the project start, the multiple subcontractor visits, and handling of permitting and city inspections. What a pleasure to deal with a contactor who is inherently honest with great communication skills! The quality of the work was first rate, and any difficulties in the project were pointed out in advance to allow for the proper solution, and without additional cost. Chris used multiple subcontractors for all specialty work that included electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, plastering, and floor/wall tile. Ergo, the finished product was pure quality. The work space was cleaned daily and all workers were very respectful and polite. Assuredly I would use Chris for any and all future projects.

We hired Mike and he was on time and the construction was completed on schedule (a little over but some unexpected delays should always be expected) but most importantly...ON BUDGET! They were local, responsive and very professional and our meeting with the owner, Marco, went really well. The wife and I felt great about it from the get-go. Marco has been in the business for many years and it shows. When meeting with us, he was able to assess the project and take charge of it, making insightful recommendations along the way to help improve what we had in mind and also make it more affordable by making alternate suggestions. He was able to assist with everything from permitting to the demolishing and the building and provided timely updates along the way, with full disclosure. If they ran into a snag, he'd let us know immediately and was able to hold our hand through the process. We cannot recommend him enough and look forward to working with him again in the future on our next home.

Craftsmanship:Marco and his team do phenomenal work and do it right the first time. They always asked for my input when appropriate and needed and they work amazingly fast. Communication:This is a huge one for me as I've hired contractors who are unable to grasp the concept that the client wants their expectation set and met. This is not an issue for Marco -- he just gets it. He is clear in confirming the scope and requirements of the work. He always sets expectation around timing and price that are both fair and accurate. And, in the exceptionally rare case where something will not go as planned (perhaps due weather or other outside factors) he proactively lets me know. Absolutely unparalleled on the communication front. Pricing:You get what you pay for -- he's not cheap but not exorbitant either. Other contractors underbid him. I one--time made a mistake to let price win out of what I knew would be a sure thing. In the end, Marco did the work when the first contractor turned out to be incompetent. I won't make that mistake again. Marco and Housecraft LLC have made me a customer-for-life. Highly recommended!

We were very pleased with the outcome. I want to especially recognize the stellar work done by Bryan Lamoureux, head carpenter. For years, I had nightmares that the second floor of the house was going to collapse. When Bryan took the kitchen ceiling back to the bare joists, he found out that somebody had cut massive holes in those joists to run a pipe through them. This made the house structurally unsound. Bryan showed us the holes and proposed a solution to make the house sound. The "bounce" that we experienced while walking around on the second floor disappeared, and so did my nightmares. Bryan is a superb young carpenter with old-school knowledge and values. Thank you, Bryan! I also want to recognize kitchen designer Jane Scammon. We told her what we wanted, and she immediately drew up an inspired design proposal for us. We bought tiles and cabinets based on her design, and we love the new look. Thank you, Jane!

Bruno may not mean to scam you, but he will take your money and then do nothing for months. He will not apply for permits, and he will tell you your town/city is the problem. He will blame every delay or broken promise on circumstances outside of his own control. During that time, he will use your money to finish his other projects or (probably) pay his other bills. If you ask for your money back, he will tell you he has bought materials but never provide any proof. If you call Bruno out for his poor performance, he will gaslight you and again blame everyone but himself, including you. I decided to work with Bruno despite a few bad reviews. I figured everyone makes mistakes. But when Bruno makes them, he will not make them right. The only reason I have not pursued a lawsuit against him is that lawyers cost money and Bruno has a history of not paying the settlements against him. It's possible that Bruno has improved his business practices in the year since we last interacted, but I wouldn't bet on it. Neither should you.
